  1. Our Australia/New Zealand cruise coming up says that the onboard currency and folio charges are in AU Dollars. When we pay the onboard account at the end of the cruise with a credit card will the payment be subject to foreign transaction fees?

I have one credit card that doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee and one that does, but I'd rather use the one that does charge the foreign transaction fee.

  2. Thanks for your response. Could you tell ,e which tour company you used?

    Thanks!!:)

I'm also interested in a similar tour and would also like to know the name of your tour company.

  3. I've had intermittent problems like this on various internet sites using Internet Explorer. When I switch to Google Chrome everything works OK. I'm normally not a fan of Google Chrome myself but you might try switching to another Internet browser and see what happens.

  4. Ok we are looking at a Hawaiian cruise out of LA in Jan of 16 . Carnival and Princess are the two lines we have it down too. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary . Here lies my question we are going to book a midship Balcony , is Princess $772.00 (1544.00 total) a person better than Carnival . If you think it is please tell me why .Thank you for your replys

Depends on what Carnival's price is.

  5. "I went to Princess because they will book out of the USA. Cruises through Australian agents are priced some 30% higher and include 1.5% surcharge in addition".

Don't Hal, Celebrity, Oceania etc all book out of the U.S. Why would someone in the U.S. book a cruise through an Australian Agency?

  6. Earlier this year I had a mini suite cabin marked no upgrade and was moved, but to cabin that was OK by me. Called my travel agent and asked that they check out why I was moved. Princess told them it was a mistake but my original cabin was now occupied. He tried to get me a full suite instead of the mini I was in but they wouldn't do it. Instead Princess gave me a $200 on board credit.

  7. We do not print out our luggage tags. Nor do we do any of those home hobbies to make custom tags. We don't tape them on to the side of our luggage.

We wait until we get to the dock. We get a tag from the porter-if needed. Thirty seconds later the tags are filled out and we are on our way. No need to bother with staplers or anything else. Just have your stateroom number handy so you can mark it on the tag! No staplers required.

Don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your cruise.

So you're the one holding up the line. If everyone did what you recommend and maybe about 2500 bags boarded each cruise equals 1250 minutes or over 20 hours tying up the boarding process.

  8. Any hotel recommendations by Victoria Station?

    Thanks

We stayed at the Premier Inn a couple of years ago. Great location and only a short 3-4 block walk to Victoria Coach Station passing many shops, restaurants and pubs along the way. The Victoria Train Station is even closer and is like a mall with many shops and restaurants inside. The hotel is very clean, was recently renovated and has a nice buffet breakfast area. Plus at that time it was one of the lowest priced hotels in that area. The rooms are a little small compared to U.S. standards as are most hotels in the UK. Read the reviews in Trip Advisor.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

  9. Is there anyone besides me who would like a 14 day round trip from Los Angeles to Alaska? I have told someone at Princess at least 20 times, but it is not getting through to them.

I'd like to see this itinerary also but with over 1000 views to this thread and 43 responses I don't think its going to sway Princess.

  10. "The lack of freedom to get ANY of your own food for 10 straight days really smarts. You have no control over proportions. Imagine a salad prepared by randomly selected sizes of each item, usually misinterpreted by the serving personnel. This includes dressing. Now imagine that for each and every food item that you attempt to eat over the course of a 12 day cruise. It was like a Laurel and Hardy scene! Although the lauhter fades after the first day or so."

Maybe it would be better to try the MDR every once in awhile when the ship is in Code Red.
