  1. Cut and paste from this site:

    http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/drugs-products-medicaments-produits/consumer-consommation/products-produits/tattoos-tatouages-eng.php

"If you are unsure if a henna tattoo ink or paste contains PPD, look for the following signs:

The ink, paste or tattoo itself is a very dark black.

The tattoo ink sets very quickly.

Natural henna paste must set for many hours to completely darken.

The ink or paste has very little or no scent.

Natural henna tends to smell like soil, hay or an essential oil (a strong smelling oil made from plants)."

I would think that this characteristic would be of interest to the local vendors.

    Faster drying, more customers.

I'd pass on this, but you're free to choose.

  2. Thanks for the replies.

I am aware of the coverage supplied by the CC companies and piggybacking on your car insurance.

In my situation, I need to purchase the coverage separately. I don't use CC's often so I have a basic card with no rental card provision. And our car insurance is run by the provincial government (think monopoly) and rental car coverage is not offered.

    But now the good news!

I kept playing around and looking for options and found via Hotwire and using the CDN dollar tab I can get 5 days of rental insurance for $74.95 CDN. That works out to $14.99 CDN daily and converted is US$11.29 at todays rate.

Looks like I have my answer!

  3. The good thing is that the tourist areas (Downtown, Paradise Island and Cable Beach) have all stepped up security to keep visitors safe.

We're there next week. When you say "Downtown" what area would that cover?

We plan on some shopping along Bay St, Watlings for the rum, walk down to the Fish Fry for a bite and then a dip (maybe) at Junkanoo Beach before getting back on board. Would that be Downtown?

Too bad we have to be concerned about this. Kind of puts a damper on the enjoyment factor.
