  1. If you are fully vaccinated, did you still have to have a Negative Covid test to board or was your proof of vaccination enough?
  2. Thanks . Never thought about that
  3. It's a toss up between Jayleen's Alaska and Juneau Whale Watching. Has anyone have any experience with either of them? Pros and Cons on both would be appreciated. Kathy
  4. I am looking into doing whale watching in either Sitka or Juneau. I am currently booked in Juneau with Juneau Whale Watching and I have talked to Captain Gary in Sitka. After speaking with him, I am trying to decide if I should do the combo tour with him and cancel Juneau or just stay with what I have booked in Juneau. Then I would do the land tour with Captain Gary. Looking forward to your suggestions/opinions. Kathy
  5. We were booked for this August out of Vancouver. After careful consideration and some hesitancy, we decided to book the Quantum of the Seas out of Washington for August 2022 for the exact same reasons you gave. After I booked it I felt a lot better. Some day I hope to go back to Alaska leaving from Vancouver. Also, my sister in law booked our cruise last week and she did get a good balcony. However, if you are going to do this, I would book sooner than later. Like someone said, next year, will hopefully be a lot more normal in Alaska and keep in mind that all of 2020 was cancelled and a portion of 2021 cruises to Alaska were cancelled. These people are more than likely going to be looking to rebook for next year. Kathy

    Captain Gary

I am going to be in Sitka next August and I have started to do research for some excursions. Someone from FB suggested using Captain Gary in Sitka. Has anyone had any personal experience with Captain Gary. In particular the land tour? Thanks in advance for your help Kathy
  7. Thank you. I looked on our excursions (I know they don't have all posted just yet), but I seem to remember that being an excursion back in 2020 through our ship. Thank you. Maybe it will be again. It would be great to be able to see this and whales.
  8. We will be going to Alaska in August of 2022 . I am looking for suggestions for both Private and Ship excursions. We will be on the Quantum of the Seas. Our ports of call are Ketchikan 8 to 5 pm; Sitka 8 to 5 pm; Juneau 1 to 8 pm; and Victoria BC 4 to 10 pm (hopefully Canada will open their borders to us by next August). We would really like to do a Whale Watching Tour. What port would be the best? All suggestions are welcomed. Thank you for all your help. Kathy
  9. I got the same thing but for my FCC Cruise Planner . Got it on the 14th in the evening. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  10. Which cruise did you book for next year? We are suppose to be on Serenade this August . Had already booked for August 8, 2021 just in case it’s cancelled. Now found I have to have surgery and will see if Royal cancels. If not I will cancel under the Cruise with Confidence program. I fell very fortunate. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  13. We are suppose to be sailing to Alaska this August. If it is cancelled we are looking at the following itineraries: Itinerary 1 - Sitka, Skagway and Juneau Itinerary 2 - Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau. Which would you prefer ? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  15. We used PK Travel this past October and did the full day Athen’s tour. It was an amazing experience and probably the best excursion we were on. They were prompt in picking us up at the ship and we were at the Acropolis by 8am when it opened . Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. I know many people say you can do these tours on your own and save money, but you can get a lot more from an excursion with a knowledgeable tour guide . They have a FB page . If you go to their page , scroll down and at some point you should see my review (Kathy Mannino) . If you decide to go with them please tell them I said hello !! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  16. Congratulations!! So happy for you !! We had our Mariner of the Seas cancelled and rebooked for next September. We currently have an August cruise to Alaska . Praying that one doesn’t get cancelled. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  17. An Alex_drew posted the following number to call. 888 305 4626. I called them this morning and got through right away. Yes, I already have another cruise booked for next year, so they were able to transfer my points to the new booking. They were very good answering my questions . Thank you alex_drew!! 18. I’m not adversed to a private guide. Do I just google Dora in Cartagena?
  19. We will be going on RC Vision of the Seas next year. Did anyone do any ship excursions? Did you feel comfortable doing this port on your own. Thanks
  20. Following. We will be there March 2021. Nice to be informed of the pushy people.
  21. They had the tickets for Acropolis and paid for them at the end of the tour. Temple of Zeus and Acropolis Museum we bought when we got there. There were no lines when we went to either place
  22. Fortunately our gentlemen was very good and up front about what he is allowed to do and that he was not allowed to go into certain sites because he was not licensed to do so . You are right , people need to know these things, so they are not taken advantage of .
  23. Thank you for pointing this out . I did not know . Fortunately none of our tours were 1,000 euros .
  24. We used Italy Tours.eu. We were very pleased . This past September, we used a gentleman that was referred to us by some friends . His name is Antonio. He charges 50 euros an hour but you will see a lot . He even got us a private tour guide to go into the Colosseum with us . Worth every penny . If you are interested, I will be happy to supply his email. We also used Rolling Rome Golf Cart Tours this past September. We booked the sunset tour. It started at 7Pm ( picked up at our hotel) and back at 10 pm. Our guide Eugene was fantastic. Got to see all the sites at night . Rome is absolutely beautiful lit up !! Good luck with your research . I’m sure whatever you decide they will have a great time !
