Cruiser21 - you are very astute.
My apologies, I did not see wineoclock was asking for a comparison between the two lines.
Evidently I am not that astute.

Celebrity or MSC YC ?
On Celebrity we always choose a normal Balcony cabin whilst on MSC would only choose the YC as the rest of the ship is too crowded and manic.
Celebrity pros - better food quality, superior entertainment, less crowds, best specialty restaurants and better customer service on land and sea.
MSC Yacht Club pros - top sail lounge, better choice of wines included, best bed mattress ever, Mini-bar a definite plus, Voyager Club 20% deals ( now discontinued which makes YC too expensive )
The main problem with MSC YC is lack of any shade on the sun deck.
Sounds like you are leaning towards Celebrity.

No sail away party?

The day of his passing they said was Feb 8th. That day he was Introducing the captain at the captains
cocktail reception in the YC. Can anyone confirm from last weeks cruise if he was the cruise director?
Maybe it was someone who looked like him?
-
I may be mistaken but we were on last week sailing of Seascape and I believe he was at the white party which was Feb 10th.

Sailing next week on Seascape and was wondering if anyone could recommend a waiter to ask for in YC dining room,
Thank you

Just got off Meraviglia this past week and there was smoking by the slot machines

Any of you who get the Smithsonian channel might check out "Mighty Cruise Ships" at 9:00 EST tonight. They will have a one hour show on the MSC Meraviglia.
Thanks for letting us know. Never saw it in 2017.

We made the mistake of coming in two days before our cruise on June 18th of this month.
We always test at home but can't this time. Has anyone tested near the Port of Miami and where?
Thanks in advance.

Probably the one aspect of MSC I'll never understand.
Who on earth would consider lowering the ambiance and quality of one's accommodation just to experience the additional service?
😈😈
I do all the time. Always book Interior YC its a great value. I get everything you receive except the balcony. No brainer.

You would think, but a 20 minute walk doesn’t clear this line. People are genuinely panicked about getting enough to eat and it’s a really unfortunate situation. Not enough stations open, not enough staff serving food, it’s extraordinarily unpleasant.
They are panicked about not getting enough food on a cruise? Unpleasant situation? Ok, we will call Coast Guard to start evacuation Immediately.

Just got off of two weeks on Seashore. There is and will be a lot of turnover as many servers have been on since the start of her sailing. It seemed most of the servers on the starboard side are very new. Some are clearly not ready to be leads at least. If you are seated on that side, try and get Gerard. If in the center or port side, two younger servers, Kevin and Bernin (sp?), are the best. Kevin has some good assistants, as does Bernin. The difference may come to preference in style. Kevin is polite and understated, while Bernin insists on making recommendations regarding dishes.
Again, all subject to change. Three servers were leaving the ship with us on Saturday. We had a change in YC directors from Robert Balla to Robbie Sheriff, and it looked like the maitre d, Luigi, was being shadowed, so I expect he will leave soon (no great loss, IMHO). Belinda, the sommelier, is excellent and quite knowledgeable. She got us special wines, and did not try and upsell us on Connoisseur-class wines.
Great, Thank you for your response. We will probably request Kevin, We like trying different dishes and not what someone else thinks what we would enjoy. We had Robbie on Meraviglia, top notch guy.
Thank you

In Dec we had Jason and his assistant Mike and they were excellent. Mary Rose a server in the Topsail was excellent as well.
Thank you for your reply

Hi, Can anyone recommend a waiter ( his or her name) that you found to be outstanding in the Yacht Club Restaurant.
I'm sure they are all good, wanted to get guest recommendation.
Thanks

Just to update with our final results. Our upgrade to YC Deluxe Suite was accepted this morning - 4 days prior to embarkation.
Congratulations. Can you tell me what your original cabin was and what your bid was for YC Deluxe Suite? Thanks in advance

I finally got the system to accept our cc too.
It had to be verified via a text with a code we had to enter and once I did that it took the card. That was the furthest I had ever gotten in all my prior attempts so I had a feeling it would work this time.
I just noticed our dates of issue and expiration of our passports were wrong on our docs so went back in to fix it and it took 3 attempts before the system changed it to the correct dates.
Now I’ll have to reprint those pages with the correct info.
Glad I went over it with a fine tooth comb.Just tried to enter my credit card about six times. Tried another credit card four times, no luck. UGGGG

I received an email invitation to bid for an upgrade, on my 23 October cruise on the Meraviglia, and I put in just a bit over the minimum, not really expecting to 'win', but hey, you never know...
Anyway, today I received another invitation, with no mention of my first bid, or even asking me if I wanted to increase my first bid...
So kind of confusing...makes me wonder if they even got my first bid, although they took my payment info, and said they received the bid...😕
What cabin type did you upgrade to? Could you tell us what was the minimum bid? Thank you

Yes the casino was definitely open; table games and electronic machines. They had spacing, and were hungry for guests. The casino is in the hallway leading to the carousel lounge that used to house Cirque. They had another act in there instead now, a band, but it didn't look crowded in there when I peeked in, but really It wasn't crowded anywhere at anytime overall.
Thanks for the Info
-
Hi, Can you tell me if the casino was open? Not sure if they have scaled back the hours with fewer passengers on the ship

Sailing MSC in April and see we are at Ocean Cay until 11:55 pm our last night. Does anyone know if they open the casino while they are docked at Ocean Cay?
Thank you.
THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE YACHT CLUB
in MSC Cruises
Posted
Met Mr Sasso last year around this time on Seashore in the Yacht Club with his family. Really down to earth fella but not sure he is the one to contact as I witnessed him break the dining room rules. Up until that cruise it was forbidden for men to wear shorts to dinner accept for first night. Well Mr Sasso wore dress shorts every night and when I asked matre’d about no shorts rule he shrugged his shoulders. I guess rules are made to be broken, unfortunately.
