  1. Hello!  138 East.  Also, due to your suggestions I booked Hilton @Penn Station Newark. We will be arriving at EWR 11 Sept, Wednesday  (from a red eye Las Vegas) approx 7:30 am.  Just realized the date : (

Our cruise is on 12 September, Anthem of the Seas, Royal Caribbean.

Just as a FYI, I was able to get a one night for $162.86 with tax.  No refunds.

  2. Hi! Not to high jack OP, but just to help out. I'm on this exact cruise just chilling on the Solstice deck-above Deck 15.by Mast Bar & getting the last few rays! :D

Lobster night was day 6 - Last Chic night (yesterday). They were Maine Lobster tails verses Spiny Lobster of the past.

We went to Murano on Embarkation Day -30% off. The Lobster was cooked in front of you with their buttery wine sauce!:p. Great way to try some specialty restaurants @ a discount.

My hubby enjoyed the Lobsters! If you have time try out Joe's @ Miami for stone crabs. Great treat!

Sorry, for any typos. I mentioned on deck with like my 5th cocktail of the day & squinting with the sun. FYI it's 4:55 & have another 1 hr of warm rays!

  3. Hey! It's Turtle time! Yes, I have read most of your threads (10 pages of q&a from last yr).:D Found out about "seat61" from when we did our land trip 2013. So happy for cruise critic & tripadvisor and the lovely people who take time to share tips/info! It has made my traveling planning so thorough & complete!:D

Because of seat 61 we picked all forward facing seats with a table/window near the exit @ Paris:p & most importantly how to find the original Chanel store on Rue Cambon @ Paris & where exactly to file my VAT forms @ CDG to get my refunds! This time we are going the opposite way or the way you went last fall ;)

So now asking the fabulous & helpful people on this thread for suggestions. I am just torned where to spend the night before our cruise (London or Southampton)

I know, now wished I have 5 days @ Paris, Eurostar has a promotion 2for1 specific museums .

  4. Hi, everyone! Thanks for the tips! :DYes, even though I know we can take transfers after Eurostar (Paris to London) to Waterloo (for train to Southampton). My DH & I decided for ease to take a taxi. Did someone mentioned (another question) that it was approx 20£ and 20-30mins travel time to Waterloo (midday approx 1300 on a Thursday).

The question that remains is where to stay London or Southampton the night before our cruise. Still researching....:p

  5. Thanks for the complete & thorough tips & notes!:D I am only on my lunch break so don't have enough time to do some additional research. My DH thinks it is better to travel straight to Southampton on the day before when we leave Paris.

Our cruise departs 7 July @ Southampton (Royal C. Independence of the Sea)

Must arrive @ port NLT 3:00 pm (1500 hrs ).

Planning to leave Paris 6 July via Eurostar.

What do people think is less stress? Continuing our travels straight on or stay one night in London? Remember, I said I preferred to stay in London one night but Husband feels there would be things we could do in Southhampton. What hotels in Southampton would be preferred if ever?

  6. Hello, to fellow helpful cruisers. Haven't found too many tips/transfer from Eurostar terminal. We will be cruising next year 7 Jul, Royal Caribbean's Independence of Sea via Southampton.

Arrive via CDG - Paris 2 July, 4 nights in Paris

Leave Paris via Eurostar to London 6 July (day before Departure @ port)

    Questions:

Would you stay in London one night? Or Southampton? Prefer to stay one night in London, proper Afternoon Tea, Fish & Chip's for DH.

What logistics would you do? Would you stay near Eurostar terminal in London?

Been to London a couple times in the last 4 years. DH & I will have one ea Checkin Bag & a roller carryon.

After cruise, 15 Jul need a transport to Heathrow. We have time to stop by Bath & Windsor return flight to US is next day early am (0900). We have done Stonhedge 2 years ago with International Friends Tour. Planning just to stay @ Heathrow area Hotels for one night.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

  7. Question:

Can those that have done the multi snorkel trip let us know if you need to be a strong swimmer for this tour? Does the company have life vests to borrow?

    Do you go out far?

I prefer a boat/cataraman type trip so I can stay near the boat while my hubby & teenage son wander. I need a floating device or life jacket to feel secure. Any tours like that?

    :

  8. We have found that if you are friendly with the bartenders and provide a cash tip for the free drinks, you will often be able to order nearly anything whether it is on the list or not. If you establish a good relationship with one bartender or a team at one of the bars, take care of them and they will remember you and take care of your beverage needs for the rest of your cruise. :D :)

Yes, my hubby does that! ;)

  9. Question: Are the drinks "loaded" on your card in addition to the Diamond Lounge 5:00-8:00 pm or either or?

Also, can those drinks be used only at that time? Is sparkling water bottles or just bottled water available at the Lounge or can be used with the "free" drinks loaded?

Sorry, but it's been awhile on RCCL. We will be on the Navigator, Jan 6,2017.

    TIA!:D

  10. ColoradoGirl - I do the same thing!:D:p

I read every "Drink Package Question" thinking some new info is out there.

FYI, I can go either way as I am a Diamond member. Just realize when u get a package u will be tipsy everyday:D Depends if I'm touring eg Med & Europe cruises vs Carribbean fun trips.

I get the Ultimate because I love premium coffees & H2O. I can drink 1 liter of sparkling water a day with all the alcohol.

  11. Aloha!

Personally, I would do only Barcelona as a DIY. The port is right in the city and you can literally walk off the ship right to town if you don't mind the walk or take a very short taxi ride to your destination or heart of the city.

We have had a few cruises start/end @ Barcelona.

We have done the Picasso museum, walked around Las Ramblas,

Take pictures of La Sagrada Familia (church, research why),

Walk part of the Park Guell, known as one of Gaudi's (artist) most colorful works,

Famous food market called Boqueria, you are able to try the Razor clams

(Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria )

At the Italian stops I always hire a tour operator, car driver and share tour price with other cruisers. Other than walk in Naples (town) and buy a pizza, (BTW this is not to safe to do @ Naples) I would plan tours.

  12. Hello, do you remember how many oz or ml? Usually, the tiny ones 8oz is what I see at most bars, at gas stations they usually sell the 500ml (1/2 Liter). & 1 liter at. Restaurant tables.

The $3 ones were what size and did they sell the liters bottles at he restaurants?

Believe it or not, I can drink a liter bottle of sparkling per meal plus at least 1-2 bottles during the rest of the day.

Hope they are not in glass bottles.

    :) Thank you in advance!

  13. Hello, again! Am I doing this right? So to upgrade from classic (part of promo U pick one). I need to pay only $10 difference plus tip per day. About $77 per person for my husband & me (approx $154 for a 7 day cruise). Our son, 16 will just be ala cart (pay as you go). Not a big soda or juice person. Maybe a smoothie once a day or chocolate milk.

  14. :)Thanks for quick response! We already have the classic from the promo and are Elite members. Would you upgrade to the Premium? Do you think it's worth it? I enjoy Evian & Perrier & Lattes.

Back story: on Equinox July 14, 2014. Fast 7 day cruise (new port every day)Venice to Istanbul. Husband not big drinker - he's in Training. He does road bike 100 mile runs (Like Tour de France).

Evian and Perrier are in the Premium Package only.
