  1. Hello! Thanks for sharing your lovely cruise with us. If you don't mine I have a couple questions with MR. SANTOS---in Cozumel.

You mentioned you did the AI. After reading the menu (drink) I noticed That umbrellas were included. But you, (Friend Rae) paid an additional $20 ($10 reimbursable). Please explain. Are umbrellas extra?:confused:

Never have done an AI. But your review made me want to try it out. Did anyone have a tummy ache from the food or ice? That's what I worry about. For us, I think the value will be using the kayaks and snorkel. How do you rent? Is there a list or time limit? Beach looks gorgeous and shallow verses rocky and a big drop in Chakanaab (sp). I will be there on a popular spring break week 1-8 April.

    Thanks again for sharing :p:)

  2. Thanks so much to all! Plus this insight! Now honestly I am a bit confuse. Maybe a non-alcoholic premium package so I can have evian & Perrer, lattes, vitamin h20 anytime. I think I can do about 5-6 minimum drinks per day non-alcoholic It comes out to $20 per day with tip. Just another question:

Does anyone know what size Evian water you receive on this package? Is it the big liter? I would hate to get the small one and break up my gym time to get another "small" bottle. Or when getting off the boat at a port? Big or small bottle? Thanks again everyone for your help, thorough explanations, and patience!:D:p

    .

Think I can answer that one as an elite member. We had premium packages on our last cruise but on our next one as I like to do a little bit of pre purchasing I am buying additional on board credit for 75% of the cost of the packages. We are still going to drink as if we had the package for those times where we do not access perks.

Our thinking is based on an analysis of our bill all be it full of zeros for the bar on our last trip. Here is our rationale

    * first drink of the day on an at sea day - enjoy at the Elite breakfast

    * on one at sea day we will have the senior officers party which is usually late morning so lunch time drinks for that day are included

    * each night our pre dinner drink will be at the Elite lounge which will be martinis

    * on one day we will have the Captains club do and even if that replaces one of the elite evenings we will probably not want to drink again after that

    * we can use the wine voucher to reduce the cost of wine on 1 or 2 evenings

    * we are in Aquaclass so will have a regular supply of bottled water

    * we will probably carry on two bottles of champagne as is allowed for two special afternoons on the balcony

    * we may pick up and bring back a couple of cans of Pepsi when we are ashore each day

I think it would be very hard for an Elite passenger to be ahead on a premium card though I accept everyone has different drinking patterns

I will post whether I end up ahead or behind on my 75% of the cost obc when we get back but that is not until June. We will also have a record of whether we drank more or less than our last trip

Incidentally on our last trip we felt sometimes we drank because we had the card and we did end up about $30 down each at the end of the trip, but that can be offset in part by the fact we dined with the Captain one night - another consideration sometimes for Elites

  3. HI VEGASGIRL702,

The Beverage Packages are not valid for Room Service.

However, there are "perks" on some items being complimentary on the Room Service Menu / In Room Services (non alcoholic items) if you have either a Concierge Class OR Aqua Class Cabin... OR a Suite.

So, knowing more about what you've booked would be helpful

    Hope this is (somewhat) helpful...

    Cheers!

Hello! Sloop-JohnB I booked a balcony room with concierge. They had me at the Pillow Menu:D:p. Also have Elite (Diamond on RC). Would you still get an alcoholic premium package?

  5. Tips!

Talk to your tablemates, people at the bars, they usually have great stories or tips/hints about current ship/port etc...

Pack Light! One less outfit, shoes etc...

Bring something small from your town for your servers or chocolates! eg baseball hat or deck of Vegas cards

Bring your camera with you at all times!

Buy "cruise" supplies off season eg. Bikini/trunks, formal wear

For women - bring a small tote (vs beach bag) to carry mags/book/kindle/scarf during ship days or port days when you stay on ship

  6. Secrets: Book "some" port excursions with Local companies/tour groups vs with RCCL. Enjoyed the smaller group size and more time at sites.

Book these excursions with people from your roll call. Most memorable ports were:

St Petersburg, Russia -Our guide was a Russian History Prof. currently teaching at a German University

Naples, Italy -saw Positano for first time and fell in

love. My husband took me back on a land trip a year

    later for our anniversary.

Florence, Italy - Our driver was informative and Delicious to look at! All the women were swooning!:p

Eze, France - Mmh, oh those crepes

St Maarten, Carribean - Did an Artist tour, bought original art:)
