@bunburyseagull  you seem to be targeting larger balconies. One thing to keep in mind is the 1st & 3rd angled cabins off the straight part of the hump have the largest balconies. The 1st cabins off the forward hump have the largest balconies too.

Are you familiar with a website cruise deck plans.   You can choose a ship and there’s an option to drag decks. You can line the decks up and see what’s directly above and below a cabin. Sorry I can’t give you the exact website. It’s not allowed here.

Also what Eclipse sailing is this for?

Hi , we are on the 13 night from Hawaii to Vancouver ,

1075 would be a good choice. I think it’s a better choice than 2111 IMO. 1075 has a larger balcony than 2111 also.

2111 would have some rolling cart noise from above. Slight but some. Plus the deck 12 smoking area port side is close to the cabin.

Oh gosh now i'm in a dilemma lol I don't know whether to book #1075 ( with foot stools lol) or # 8279 1A without footstools. Help!!

Without a doubt, I would choose 2111.  It has a larger balcony, and it is under the carpeted area of the deck above.  I wouldn't worry about the smoke as it will be long gone before it reaches Deck 12.  It's in a great area of the ship next to the aft elevators, up to the lawn club, and down to the dining and martini bar.

We stayed in the suite next door,  no noise, no smoke, and a great location.  You will be extremely happy with that stateroom.

P.S.  If you go to an Aft cabin, everyone above will be able to look down on you.    🍷

Hi thanks for the info, #2111 is gone now , would C2 1075 be a good next choice?

  4. Hi Thank you so much for your input!

Final payment is in 10 days,  there's not a lot of CC left but I'm not going ahead with those cabins now after hearing replies lol. Could you tell me, do the A1 cabins have foot stools? If not I might just go ahead with the cabin on deck 8 but will change sides so I don't have the smoke waffling up lol, We can choose C1 but they are AFT and not sure how private they are from people looking down on your cabin? Which decks would be best < I've never been in an AFT cabin so not sure if I'd like just looking at the wake the whole time? Opinions would be great please? Thanks

Some like exposed balconies for viewing the sky, others just feel exposed! It's pretty hard to look straight down from any window...

Do you think it would be more protection in the cabin with the overhang from rain maybe ,going to Alaska ?

On our last cruise on the NS we booked a cabin that we were unaware had a connecting cabin.  Whenever we were near the connecting door we could easily hear the conversation taking place in the other room.   Our future cruises will be specific about not having this type of cabin .....and honestly we are not that particular.

Thank you for the info, yes we've decided not to book the connecting room , our choice now is BC 044,046,048,050,061,or065.

    decisions decisions lol

I stayed in 046 once and there was no noise from above at all. We prefer 048 or 063 because of the missing overhang from the Lido but 044 is just as fine. You will hear the „bell“ of the elevator. That’s all. Locationwise the BC‘s are our favorites on the Maasdam.

Sorry what do you mean Overhang? We've never been on Maasdam, does that mean the Balcony roof is more covered lol?

  8. Hello everyone, we are in the process of booking a 14 night cruise to Alaska on the Ms Maasdam , for May next year.

We have booked a Vista Suite, bb 055, my question is , is that an ok room in a good location.and deck , is there any obstruction looking out over the balcony.

Or would you pick a GTY cabin? We've never been on the Maasdam before so any help would be very much appreciated. TIA.

  9. It looks like the window should be at the side, but I have no direct experience with that room. I have been in 7002 though - that window is in the front and the room is extra wide.

Thanks for your reply, yes we tried to get cabin 7002 or 7003 but they are gone ,

  10. Hello everyone,

We are looking at an ocean view on the constellation, we have 2 cabins we are interested in 9001 and 7007, could anyone tell me if there is much difference between the 2 please? In cabin 9001 is the window at the front of the ship or on the side of the ship? Thank you and look forward to any replies.

  11. Hello,

We are thinking of a cruise on this ship ,going to India.

We usually get Balcony rooms but thought we'd try an Oceanview this time.

We are looking at cabin 9001 or 7007, could someone please tell me if there is much difference between the rooms? What would be the better room? Where is the window in cabin 9001, front of ship or on the side of the ship? Thank you and look forward to your replies

  12. Thank you for your reply, We ended up booking the BD GTY,What do you mean by a sheltered Balcony? What category don't have a sheltered Balcony?

New to cunard so not sure which ones are sheltered and which ones aren't?

  13. Hello everyone, I'm new to the Cunard Line, we are thinking of booking a cruise in September 2017 in the QV, its for 21 days from Rome to Athens. My question is , we can only book a GTY for the BD Balcony, is there any "Bad" cabins in that category and also is there a chance we would end up in a higher category cabin? we have never booked a GTY before, have always picked our cabin, so are a little nervous lol.

Any input would be great, Thank you

  14. We have been in 4164 on Nieuw Amsterdam twice and loved the balcony with two lounge chairs plus two chairs. Nothing wrong with the location' date=' no movement, no noise. Besides look at all the exercise you will get climbing stairs to the Lido deck so you can eat all the deserts you want![/quote']

Thanks,I think I'll book it then, was just worried about it being so low down!!

Yes already thought of the extra exercise lol and deserts!!
