  1. Many, many moons ago,I think it was 1972, on TSS Reina del Mar (My namesake) I saw a crew member being rescued by ship's lifeboat, after having jumped into the ocean, thinking he was going for a swim !!! Not sure whether drink or drugs was involved. I have photos to prove his rescue...didn't see him jump..just heard the 'Man Overboard' announcement. The story went that he was taken to the 'isolation hospital' aboard.

Wow, that must have been traumatic to see, but thankfully he was rescued!

  2. Hi Christina!

Thanks for reading my review. :) I can't say that Chris or I ever tried the Southern Comfort Kitchen, is that in the Lido buffet area? Chris did try the Pig & Anchor BBQ on the last sea day for lunch and he said that it was really good, much better then the Sea Day BBQ he had on the Breeze a few years ago. The lines for that seemed to be either really long or really short, depending on when you went by.

I hope that whatever cruise you choose you have a great time!

Im sorry, its not called Southern Comfort Kitchen, just Comfort Kitchen, and I think it may just be a section of the Lido. Its listed as new on certain ships on the Carnival web site, so i was looking forward to it. Glad your hubby liked Pig & Anchor.

  3. Im really enjoying your review! Sorry about your shoulder and getting sick. One of us always seems to get sick on cruises, usually due to the food not being what we're used to eating. I'm thinking of the Magic for next September so this is great research! Did you try the Southern Comfort Kitchen or the Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ? Dying to hear how those restaurants are, we're so looking forward to them.

  4. i saw this post about size and wanted to just pass along some info. they tell you that they cannot size any pics up or down. we wanted one of the pics to fit in the 5x7 elephant frame but he said they cannot change anything

of course if you buy the USB i'm sure you can change anything if you know how..i think?

but i was a tad disappointed that paying 25 for an 8x10 pic meant i couldnt get it in a smaller size. also one size was 6 x8 and i got out my phone and see the photo frames on amazon.com for that size are not cheap!

regarding your question about what size the pics are. they are the size the photographer makes them :) not being smart. just something i found out. i dont know enough about photography if you can ask him to change to smaller size when he shoots you by the chandelier etc

one thing i know is make SURE everyone takes your room number. we missed out on a good teppanyaki pic cause he didnt ask for our room number so no way to find the pic even after we filled out a special form at the desk to find it. sigh.

Thanks for the great info, especially about the room number, I thought they went by facial recognition. I wonder if it's going to be hard to take 50+ photos!

  5. We had the photo package, so did not notice the prices. They had several packages available on board, you might get a small discount if you purchase it online.

We did get a flash drive with all our chosen pictures for an extra $20. The flash drive has high quality images and comes with a release so you can use them for personal use.

    Congrats on your engagement!

    Hello,

What size prints are included in this promo? Can you get multiple prints of each shot, so long as they add up to 50? I have is promo for my November sailing, so I just wanted to be prepared.

    Thanks!

  6. We loved the Fish Fry, I think we went to Goldie's. They had free wifi and a free rum punch, and the food was great. I plan on going there anytime the ship docks in Nassau. You can easily walk to Junkanoo beach and eat at the fish fry for lunch, then walk back to the ship and do some shopping before you board at the many outdoor vendors.

  7. I just noticed while looking at Google maps for something to do in Cocoa Beach when the ship stops in Port Canaveral, there is a geocaching store in Cocoa Beach! Has anyone ever been there?

  8. Funny story about the Mango Meltdown: on my first time on NCL, i wanted my favorite drink that i used to get on Carnival, a Kiss on the Lips, so I asked the bartender for one, and he never heard of it. I described it, and he said, "Oh, we call that a Mango Meltdown!" LOL was I embarrassed! So some drinks have different names on different cruise lines.

Thanks for the list! I downloaded it to Dropbox on my ipad so i can take it on my next cruise.
