Where is the Captain's lounge located for breakfast and cocktails
seems like on Equinox it was in Michaels
TIA

Nice review you did and great pics. (planning on stealing some of the :)
Was on this cruise with you and did same cruise same time same cabin last year. Hope you don't mind but would like to add a couple things. Love the Indy and the 8 nt int.
The service in the MDR, housekeeping and Diamond lounge was the best of any cruises we have taken. Outstanding crew.
Did notice from last January to this January there was about 25% less offerings In Café Promenade and Sorrento's. they cut out a lot of selections.
We did MTD seating and there is definitely some wear and tear in that area. Ripped curtains and broken shades. The carpeting in our hall was a little worn.
There are a LOT of rambling announcements. That Joff loves to ramble on.
We were late leaving as a passenger was removed from the ship by ambulance after the muster drill. Sure hope all turned out ok for them.

I have asked several times in recent Independence threads and haven't gotten any answers
Do they show movies on the Pool Screen at night? If anyone has been recently what was shown?
The One and only time we did Carnival was when inaugural Dream cruise in the Med. It was pretty cool laying in lounge chairs on deck with popcorn and a blanket watching a movie in the middle of the Mediterean Sea. Kinda like the old drive in movie days.
Hated the screen during the day but loved movies at night.
Just excited about upcoming cruise and would like to know.
-
Very interested to know about night time movie screen. are they showing movies. if so what movies are they showing.
Is the diamond lounge still In Olive or Twist? (love that name)
TIA

I got the same phone call and email recently
but..I thought this was good. I got a Carnival call see you were on website etc. I said yes and I called Carnival but you aren't doing European cruises in 2014 and that is what we are looking for. She says your right, I'm sorry. But I hear Royal Caribbean has good European cruises you might check with them. Thought that was interesting they didn't recommend Princess nor Holland America

Thank you all for the info!

Love the stern cabins, know this has large balcony and sandwiched between floors. booked this cabin for the balcony
My question is years ago when researching Milly it seems cabin interior layout was a little wonky as to the bed location had a divider next to it and bed was pushed up against the wall. Is this correct? any comments or pics on cabin interiors
What happened with the solization (sp) of this class ship
Will appreciate any info.

Did they show movies at night on the poolside screen? if so what type?
Thanks for the St.Kitts info. we did this same cruise , same cabin last year. Enjoy this class ship
-
We also missed things about Royal. Enjoy the Promenade and Sorennto and café Promenade. Sometimes thought the MDR food was better. like the balcony discount
Celebrity enjoyed the elite internet perk, laundry perk
Liked the less announcements VERY MUCH.
and was nice on a couple of sea days they came around with fruit skewers, one day ice cream.
Like the buffet better and the hand dipped ice cream
I agree like these lines the best. But wish they would change up ports a little more.

I am definitely not a fan of room service nor dining room breakfast.
The only breakfast item I am fond of on a cruise ship is a fresh made to order omelette in windjammer. but not fond of the long waits someties
-
love this ship, did it last year doing again in January same itinerary same cabin
please report on the changes they did on the ship, movie screen by the pool etc
-
Thanks for your review and pics. The Greece and Turkey pics were a very enjoyed.
We are trying to decide between Greece/Turkey Cruise on another line (have done most of the other ports previously) Love the beach idea, thanks for that.
or the Canary Island NCL with Casablanca being the major draw for me.
Can you give any opinions on the Spirit itself? Cabins , tv service, are there fridges . I know food is subjective but would appreciate your opinion. Shows aren't important.
We were on NCL Majesty so many years ago I am sure they do not compare now.
appreciate any advice on the ship, Greece and Turkey.

I never thought of asking for olive oil for the bread. Thanks for that! Oh and how I long for mexican food and slobbering over those pix. May have to do that class just to have ritas. Celebrity had a mexican station on there and Oh I loved the grilled corn and salsa thrown on stuff. They also have a make to order pasta station
I am not vegan, but a no animal whatsoever vegetarian.
I didn't request special just ate off menus. and it was the old menus. have to say that I got very tired of Indian food nearly every night
but never ever went hungry. The apps, soups, fruits, salads and desserts were so good the main courses didn't matter as much .
My friend is a gluten free vegetarian. now boy that throws 'em :)
Thank you for this report

Thanks Jacksmom. I hope you have a good cruise. will be here before you know it
Indiana-Oh,,,I could do a ton of shoes  but with weight restrictions
have found I can do with mid heel black and silver because I usually do a lot of black and white capri's . but could never do without my beloved flip flops!

Found this thread a couple days ago and just finished reading. have enjoyed
here is my list. we have 2 beach days, 2 sea days on an 8 night. and going to Florida one day in advance. I wear capris once at dinner and once afterward in port
plane-sweater, tank top, jeans,scarf
blue formal, black & silver sequin cocktail
black sundress (can also be cover up later)
maxi dress
1st black capri- black & white top & royal blue top
1st white capri-green top & purple top
2nd white capri- black top & gauze blk. with beads
2nd black capri-blue/purple/green top & white top
yoga pants- pink & lt blue t shirts
plane-sweater , tank top, black chico pants,scarf
swim suits, black and purple, gauze cover up , hat
pj's, panties,x back bra, silver wrap
shoes-black, silver & flip flops
all laid out and ready to pack :) will post some photos when I get back
my travel uniform is a mid weight sweater, tank top, comfy pants and light scarf. I find I get hot and cold and in between on planes and traveling and that gives me options
as far as the question in early post about taking a small purse. I have a purse hook that hangs off the table. sometimes I take a wristlet, for key, reading glasses, lipstick, hand santizer, and $$ if going to the casino.

Don't know what brand of margaritas you drink, but skinny girl makes pre mixed margaritas that are in a wine bottle. They probably wouldn't even notice you aren't bringing on wine.
That was exactly the brand what I was thinking. same shape , size, etc. like I said alcohol content about the same
-
soooooo.....wonder how close they check, as premixed bottles of margaritas are about the same alcohol content as wine, why couldn't I bring a bottle of margaritas. seems fair
-
What site are you looking at, please?
I didn't know (or remember) there was a site other than B of A
thanks

my brother in law:(

Just skip the buffet on the first day.
Go directly to the Sky Bar.
They don't serve food in the sky bar? We are going the buffet to eat upon arrival, not wait for rooms to open.
-
I do not like the check in search/screening returning to ship from port.
Also getting on the ship and not having a place to sit in buffet due to early boarders who have packed in with luggage that take up room and sit until doors open at 1:oo

Thank you soooo much Moxie. helps a lot. Have a great cruise
I have gotten great long dresses for $50.00 but it is very much hit or miss. I check often . they carry sydneys closet, kiyonna and igigi stuff
simplydresses.com
edressme.com
cruisenub-by any chance is there a Ross store nearby. I got a full length total black sequin Scala dress for $30.00

Since my free the arms post. My son got engaged, the mob is tiny. I am 14 downstairs , big boobs 18 upstairs. I always gotten great deals and never spent over $50.00 for a formal but this is a big occasion and we cruise every year so won't go to waste right? My husband says either is fine  (sorry I couldn't copy & paste pix.)
This is my dream dress , I would get in deep blue
I know this is the style I usually go for and would look good on me but not sure about the jacket. I would get purple
Her wedding colors are black and hot pink. July formal wedding. What do you think?
-
Here's the rub...I don't find other women's arms unattractive! I think that a plus size woman who has put herself together well (and isn't wearing a tent) looks lovely! It's only my own arms I fixate on, so try to keep that in mind. I'm guessing that everyone is the same on that one, and the only one who is going to find your bare arms disgusting is you!
Thanks for that Miladandra
I am in panic/depression mode. I decided a while back on cruises. I dont care I go pretty dresses and sleeveless. I don't know these people
My son got engaged last week and they are getting married in June or September. I am panicked. I am a size 16 with low self esteem. (thanks mom) the mother of the bride is tiny. all the dresses I am looking at online that covers the arm are either, grandma of the bride or , hey I am obviously covering my arms and wearing this jacket in the south at 90 degrees.
I have beautiful, bargain, cruise dresses that are sleevelss. I hate to buy something since I really dont have to.
I think I will make some side view pictures and try to talk my self into it.
I love your dress with the petty skirt thing showing at the bottom. soooo cute
Diamond lounge Jewel&Radiance ?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Sorry to ask if this has been repeated, but we just recently discovered we enjoy the Diamond Lounge before dinner. And with the refit/refurbs of ships not sure what is what anymore.
Is it correct that these 2 ships do not have Diamond lounge (for diamond status) each night with free drinks & apps
That they have a cocktail party once or twice with free beer/wine/soft drinks and liquors at discounted price?
