  1. Booked for the first time on Carnival. It is a last minute cruise and 8:15 was the only option for dining other than my time dining. What's your opinion on dining times? Early or late seating? What's the pros and cons of each? She did give me the option to be added to a standby list. Opinions? The time itself does not affect us, but I'm just wondering how each affects quality, entertainment, etc.

  2. Is there a list of alcoholic beverages (liquor, wines, and beer) available for review before the cruise. Id like to try more expensive wines that I would probably never buy on my own. Since I have no interest in getting "my money's worth" with quantity I would like to know if quality is a option.

  3. I have a upcoming Western Caribbean cruise planned. It leaves from Port C and stops in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras ports. I recently sent off for my passport to be renewed (which means I had to mail the old one back that expires in a few months). I also realized my daughters is going to expire in the next 6 months.

My questions: Have any of your run into problems with not having your passport? I know it is strongly encouraged (and I understand why), but do you know anyone that has been denied boarding with only a birth certificate and DL? I had to send my old passport back for the renewal. I debated whether I should have just not renewed it before the cruise because it still was valid (but it would have been within that ridiculous 6 month expiration date rule). I expect mine to be back but just in case..... I'm wondering if for some reason it takes longer than expected to get my new passport back should I make plans to travel to one of the passport places, or if I can just let it ride with the BC and DL.

Second, my daughters will not be expired, but will also fall into the 6 month rule. I have her birth certificate also. Both me and her dad are traveling so no concerns there. I did not have plans to renew hers before the cruise, but still have time to do the expedite service. I would rather just do it when we get back and not worry about timing.

    Advice?

  4. Carnivals website says that all adult guest in the state room are required to buy the CHEERS package, if one person does. I will be booking in a room with my child and she doesn't drink soda. am I going to be required to buy the soda package for her if I choose to get CHEERS? I'm am also booking a second state room for two other adult family members. Is my other state room on my reservation going to affect only me wanting to buy the CHEERS package.

  5. In addition to many of the items already posted, I always bring 'Super Glue". It can be a life saver. I had to repair my wife high heels when she broke a strap as we going out the door to dinner. 5 minutes later we back on track and went to dinner. If she would have had to change shoes, she would have had to change outfits, ect.. I would have been eating on the Lido Deck instead of the dining room.

Super glue is also great for paper cuts, hang nails, and small abrasions. WASH WELL, then apply glue and let dry. It will not sting, and then you can go on without worrying about it. No band-aid needed- which only gets wet and gross anyway if they are on the hands.
