No changes that I can see under “manage my reservation”…unless I’m missing something..

Thank you for making me think to look there. I was referring to the Booking Status on the Guest Confirmation that X sent to my TA.  On previous cruises, it changed from "Offer" to "Booked" as soon as we made a deposit, but that is not the case this time. Just found it curious....

I was also able to book this morning. Now that prices have been corrected I hope Celebrity doesn't cancel these bookings. It wasn't just the Sky Suites. All the way through the Iconic suite went up a significant amount in line with normal prices.

I am a worry-wart, so I thought about the possibility of X cancelling, too. Should I be concerned that the guest confirmation showing payment of my deposit still shows "offer" rather than "Booking"?

  4. We were in Royal Suite on the Edge in March. This is not a great photo of the balcony,  but it is the only one I have. Hopefully you can see large furniture jammed on a small balcony. It would have to be removed to make room to add a lounger, which would likely

take up most of the space on the balcony. It is really small!

You might want to ask the Shoreside Concierge, but I am not sure it it is feasible.

  5. In full disclosure, I have not experienced AQ on any of the Edge class ships yet, but have loved it on S-class and have sailed on Apex and Edge in The Retreat.  We are trying AQ for our next cruise.

For me, Blu is the main benefit of AQ.  I don’t spend much time in the spa, so that benefit doesn’t add value to me. So, if you have already bought specialty dining and won’t be dining in Blu, I don’t see that it would be worth the upcharge, but others may disagree.

Now, if there were an opportunity to bid on an ocean view or infinite veranda for a reasonable cost, that might be worth considering!

I found them - operator error on my part. It is really starting to feel real now that we have checked in. Hope to see you on our Roll Call or onboard!

You can go further into it and fill in the health question responses in advance, but I think you have to do it again the day before sailing (more relevant for sure).  That's the cruise we're on BTW.

Just realized that you are on Equinox and we are on Apex. Hope you have a great cruise!

Just checked in today for our Nov. cruise.  One of the health questions was "have you received a booster shot" in addition to the 2 vaccinations.  No one has said that was a requirement, but happy we're up to date with 3 boosters never-the-less.  From other posts/threads some comments indicate there's more cases onboard ships than I thought.

I also wonder if the notification the group leader received is a 'standard group form' issued to every 'group' large or small;  perhaps the issuer/system hasn't caught up to the latest evolution of standards?

That's strange - I checked in this morning for our November 12 cruise and did not encounter any health questions. Just a pop-up detailing the latest procedures.....

  9. Jim, that is a cool trick! Thanks for sharing.

One word of caution - these assignments can change based on emergency situations. We were looking forward to departing from Terminal 25 on our Edge cruise last March. On our way to Port Everglades, we received a text that the departure terminal had been changed to 19 and to proceed there to drop our luggage. We were also advised that we would be returning to Terminal 25 and to park our car at the mid-port deck adjacent to 25 and shuttle back to check-in at 19.

Apparently Equinox had some sort of maintenance issue (broken water pipe, I think) that required it to return to port early and berth at 25. It made me realize how spoiled we had been with 25. Not only does 19 lack the aesthetic and comfort, but the computers crashed, resulting in long delays.

All that to say, the OP is probably in good shape since there are no other X ships in port that day, but just wanted to point out that the assignments are subject to change.

  10. I have been engaging in similar speculation regarding my current pending moveup offer on a SS on our upcoming cruise in early November. Of course I understand that it is entirely possible that we might get one of the two S3's currently available, but I sure would prefer one of the four S2's or the one S1 that are currently available.

  12. This is my first time submitting a Moveup offer. We are a bit over 60 days out from our cruise, and I submitted a "Strong" offer to go from AQ to SS. Today I checked available cabins, and it appears that there are only 4 AQ available, but 11 SS, 3 CS, 1 RS, and 1 PH suites available.

Depending on the number of other offers and regular reservations that might yet occur, that seems like an encouraging inventory situation for my bid? Or is it too soon to start obsessing? 🙂

Yup, though it takes a heck of a lot less time these days with fuller ships (takes maybe 10 min, even when breaking down by cabin class and deck, using the List View method).

When doing it this way, as I say, you can only claim to know the maximum # of cabins that might be booked based upon visible remaining inventory.  There may be inventory still held in group blocks and not yet released, or by held back X for other reasons (e.g., quarantine areas).

For my cruise, 28% show available now, so we know actual bookings now must be 72% or less.

Thank you! I was hoping for an easier way….

  14. I am booked in an AQ cabin on November 12 Apex sailing and have not received any communication re Moveup. However, I have been checking periodically on the link under “Manage Reservation.” The first few times, I got a message to wait until 21 days out. But yesterday, I was able to submit an offer for a SS.

YMMV, as I have no idea why it worked for me yesterday, since we are still 60+ days out!
