Finally got the time lapse software to put the screenshots that it saved (from when I was in Galveston before Christmas) into a video. :cool:

I might not make a time lapse this morning because of the water on the cameras.

Small rant about Webshots. Since my phone pics aren't very clear, I thought I would post them to Webshots instead of SlickPic with the watermark. But when I tried to log in to Webshots, it wouldn't let me, and when I went to my old thread, all my images said "Temporarily Unavailable". Looks like Webshots deleted my account.

Last Sunday before going down to the pier to watch the ships sail, I set up my time lapse software to record the Cruise Cam (and I had the Harbor Cam on in another tab in case my mom or stepdad were in the room to switch them).

For whatever reason, the timelapse software won't convert the frames it captured into a video. So while I figure out what's wrong with it, here are a few of the frames. I'm the one on the top right corner of the pier with a black shirt and tan cargo shorts that blend in with the pier on webcam.

Right before Mariner's departure, my mom told me she was in the room as Magic was passing the hotel and switched to the Harbor Cam, so I went back up to switch back to the Cruise Cam before Mariner's departure.

From what I've found, Looks like Disney will return in September with the Wonder after the summer cruise season, but will only be here through December. So Disney will be here a short time next winter season before leaving.

Watching the cam tonight I saw a Disney ship sail away. Anyone know which one that was. I wasn't aware Disney had a ship sailing out of Galveston. Also it seems like the Carnival ship is late leaving. Wonder what is up with that.

The "Carnival ship" you're talking about is the Crown Princess. :p

Yes, the Disney Magic is sailing from Galveston, and was supposed to be here for two seasons, but I read somewhere that they're leaving Galveston after this season. Apparently it's not working for them.

I never heard or saw Mariner's muster drill, so they must've had it before I arrived at the pier.

Now this is where Carnival should take some notes. Have your muster drill before departure, so people can cheer and celebrate the start of their cruise.

Actually at this point, nobody was cheering yet.^ When Mariner got a little closer, I started shouting at them, and eventually as they sailed past they started to shout back and cheer. :D Mariner's departure was easily the better of the two.

Mariner is a great looking ship to see in person!

Carnival Magic's departure was a little depressing. They were having their muster drill DURING departure. :( She sailed past without anyone waving bye to us.

But Mariner's departure made up for that. She never blew the horn to get everyone excited, but I started a shouting/cheering match between us and those on the ship as she sailed past. :D

News report this Sunday morning....Princess bought more than passengers to Galveston....they also bought Norovirus with them. 93 pax ill. unhappy folks since Princess Medical team charged full price for services and they did the 3 day banned to their cabin routine.

Morning y'all! Watching both ships arrive; Getting ready for Galveston!

I'm confused. What's the difference between this thread and another one with a very similar name? Why is there more than one?

A couple of years ago, Cruise Critic started taking down threads with too many posts (around 5000+), and my original thread was one of them. So when I started my second thread, I planned to only have it up a year or so before starting a third thread, so I wouldn't lose my second thread for having too many posts like I did my first. And here is my third thread.

Dylan, no need to beat yourself up. More than one of us on these boards have slipped up and not set an alarm for something. The Crown Princess will be here again next week, although, your disappointment is understandable since this was the first time of her Galveston visit. You do an awesome job of time lapses. Thanks for all you do!

Yep, it was missing her first arrival that upset me. Most of the time I don't wake up to watch ships arrive after their first arrival.

The shock of missing her arrival has worn off and I'm looking forward to Galveston now! :D Staying at the Harbor House tomorrow night before going to Houston (I originally thought we were going to be in Houston the entire trip).

I'm absolutely pissed with myself right now. :mad: I can't believe it. I completely forgot about Crown Princess' first arrival this morning, and it's completely ruined my morning.

This morning I find out that we will be going to Galveston after all - and we're leaving tomorrow! Sounds great to me, I'll get to see Mariner for the first time and see the Carnival Magic again. Then I remember the day before will be Crown Princess' first arrival, and I'll miss it by one day. Oh well, no big deal, I need to make a time lapse of it anyway, and I'd rather see Mariner depart in person than Crown depart in person. Then I realize the Saturday before we're leaving for Galveston is TODAY. I completely forgot to prepare for Princess' arrival yesterday (like set my alarm). I didn't watch it or get a time lapse.

Trying to think about the great news to get in a better mood. I shouldn't be this upset after hearing that I'm going to Galveston. :(

Haven't seen this posted yet: Crown Princess' first arrival is this Saturday.

Hopefully I will be able to make a time lapse of her first arrival. Triumph will be the other ship in port this Saturday, and Disney Magic starts her 8 night / 6 night schedule on Friday. Carnival Triumph and Disney Magic will alternate being in port with Crown Princess every other Saturday.

Going to Houston this Sunday for Christmas, but no trip to Galveston planned.

That was one of the best departures ever watching both Mariner and Magic leave together!!! Very nice! :)
