Right now we are booked on the Pearl March 11, prices have just come down on the Epic March 9th. Should we book Epic instead? I'm travelling with my children ages 14 &11. For them the ship is the destination/vacation, they could not care less about ports etc. We have sailed on the Pearl and enjoyed it and last spring I sailed on the Gem with my 14 and it was a really good vacation. Thoughts?? I have until this evening only to cancel and book the Epic. Flights are set too, into MIA March 8th, out on the 16th. Thanks!

We were on the Gem in May and used Fin Expeditions and had a great excursion. It was about 2 1/2 hours and the kayaking was really enjoyable, we did see manatees and it was the highlight of our excursions. I can't really speak about the manatees being available when you are in Florida although we did learn that they are very sensitive to water temperatures. I would suggest renting a car though. We used a shuttle and it really wasn't very convenient and restricted where it could go and when. So definitely rent a car!

We have stayed in 8054 on the Pearl, the obstruction is much less than the above posting, straight out there was no obstruction, only a far sides. We were very pleased with this cabin and would not hesitate to book it again.
