Thanks for your review. This will be my 7th cruise and my wife's 6th.
We will be sailing on the Magic January 7,2017 for our 7th SALUTE TO VETERANS CRUISE.
Sounds like a great ship and great time.
If anyone would like to join us on the Veterans cruise, go to the Roll Call:D

JORDANAIRE
Where did you get that countdown clock?
-
We love Carnival. We have gone on Royal and Princess and prefer Carnival.
You will find drunks and obnoxious people on every cruise line.
We are in our 60s also. Your cruise is what you make of it. We have cruised during hurricane season numerous times. Only had a problem once and that was just rain at one port. Sailed during Spring break and during summer vacation time with massive number of kids.
Don't let little things or negative comments on boards ruin your cruise. Just go and have fun :D

We are booked in cabin 1214 on the Carnival Magic for January 2017.
I have stayed in a porthole cabin on the Freedom and wanted to know if anyone else had stayed in this cabin and pros and cons
thanks:D

I have stayed in a porthole cabin on the Freedom and we are booked in one on the Magic in Jan 2017.
They are great. The one on the Freedom was a single bed but the one on the Magic has the queen sized bed. We have stayed in ocean view cabins and balcony. The Porthole in my opinion is just a lower priced ocean view cabin. :D

I wanted general info thanks. I was looking for some pictures but I guess we will just wait and be surprised. We sailed on Royal last year with a balcony and were not really impressed.
Thanks for the inf

Anyone stayed in C723 on Emerald Princess? First time Princess cruisers. We have sailed on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Can't find anything on C723 on Emerald
Thanks:D

You haven't been reading CC enough, apparently. ;) I think one reason to honor ship requests is to avoid being detained and tossed off the ship at the next port (as many stories here will attest.)
I have been reading it since 2008.
Don't know what you are referring to.
It was an attempt at humor, evidently some don't have that.:D
-
Thank you. Having been in law enforcement, the do not enter signs mean something to me.
-
If there is one on the Emerald, how do you get to it?:D
-
Crooners it is. Thanks for the info.:D
-
Whichever one is open for lunch.
Depends on the ship.
In the HC there a a few Head Waiters walking around too.
Thank you Sir and thank you for your service.
I was Army Vietnam 1970-71-72:D

Does the Emerald have a martini bar? We enjoy a martini and a glass of Port after dinner:D
-
I agree heading to the DR and seeing the MD or Head waiter.
Which dining room?
-
Nope, not for anything but the mini-suite, there is no option to change it, it only has "twin" in the drop down, nothing else. One of the reasons why I called princess before booking. The direct booking agent they assigned me told me "on paper" it has to say that, but we could ask our room steward to move it differently once we were there, but for fire marshall/safety something it had to show twin on paper.
I just looked and there is a place to change under the check in page. Under ship and stateroom summary in the bed configuration section you can select Queen or single:D

The suggestions to talk to dietary and the head waiter are good. I will do that to see what can be arranged. The first night on the big ships I will bring shot with me and scope out distances etc to see if stateroom would work. I am public restroom phobic on cruise ships so I will make sure I wear something so that I can get to my leg easily under the table where no one can see or get sqeamish. I don't like using my leg as much but just chatted with my DD who is an NP and she said using leg should slow the insulin down a bit so maybe I won't crash so fast.
It's a good thing we are cruising Princess because if we were on Carnival I would be faced with saying no to the warm chocolate melting cake every night, and that would just be too much to bear, or I would have to get WAY more insulin from Dr!
I have always given my shot at the table. Discretion is the key. You can give the shot under the table cloth without any seeing it. Those who have not experienced low blood sugar do not realize how severe and frightening it can be.
I say do it and do not let it spoil your cruise. Remember that being diabetic just means that you are too sweet. Diabetes is a controllable disease, not a communicable disease and also not a death sentence.:D

Never had a problem with kids on any of our Princess cruises. Princess does a great job with there kids programs.
Carnival also does a great job with kids, however, the parents don't:D

No internet time is required to use this app onboard.
Mike:)
Thanks Mike

Do you have to purchase a Wi-Fi package in order to use this on the Emerald?:D
-
How do you clear the cache on windows 7
-
It's the link. Do not click on it. Just go to Cruise critic and access the info. This has happened to me twice today and twice yesterdat
-
I have always used clear packing tape then folded in half and used a zip tie to secure to the luggage. Never had a problem on any of the 6 cruises I have been on:D
-
Thank you all for your input! I felt they were appropriate(considering he wears it for his Military Ball!) but it seems from the board the formal night dress code is a very sensitive subject for some and wanted to make sure the DH wouldn't feel out of place!
Thanks again!
I have cruised with two Medal of Honor recipients and other Veterans who wore their uniforms. Wear it and be proud. Thanks for your service.:D

We are having our 5th Salute to Veterans Cruise out of Puerto Rico on September 20th this year and the plans are being made for the 6th one from Boston in October 2015:D
