Received credit for cruise to our credit card and FCC to our Princess account.. Still waiting for taxes, fees and port expenses credit. No e-mail received, found it it by checking our accounts. Took 60 days (5/29) from cruise departure date (3/29)

To follow up on my 6/11/2020 post @taxes, fees and port charges, received refund on my credit card. Sent a email to Princess Cruises @ this charge a few days later got the refund of port charges and fees. I’m happy now. My cruise was March 29,2020.

  2. We received cruise money credited to our CC account. Also received FCC posted to our Princess accounts.

We received 2 emails apologizing for the delay of refund prior to receiving the refund. It took 60 days from

cruise date (3/29/20) received the refund (5/29/20). Still waiting for refund of taxes, fees and port expenses.

Sent an e-mail to Contact Us and received a confirmation number. Customer Relations will be in contact in

the order they received it. We will see.

Started two charge backs today. The one for air charges I was able to do online for about $2,500.00. Ameeican Airlines canceled the flight we had paid Princess for.

The one for the cruise for about $5,000.00 I had to do over the phone with another credit card. Both were for services we paid for but didn't receive. (March 19 Coral Princess).

Wishng you luck! That's alot of money to wait on.

I thought about a chargeback...but I believe the law says you must file a dispute within 60 days of the statement upon which the charges appear, and our payments were much longer ago.

Is there something I don't know?

Look at it this way, they never provided the service/goods/cruise you paid for.

Yes, offered FCC but I'm not interested in that. Just want our money back. Who even knows if Princess or Carnival will be around in the future.

Did you go on Princess.com, their is an April 2nd update. They are telling us it's will be 60 days before we see any refund or FCC from the day you filled out the form.

Since the cruise we laid for was 2 weeks ago air didn't operate as scheduled I feel we have a valid reason for a charge back via the credit card.

Yes, you're right. Our cruise would have ended today. Lots of planning went on and then cancel everything makes you not want to  cruise again if they make you wait for your money 90 days. Trying to think positive but it's hard to do.

You're right. We feel the same way. They have had our money for months now. They should be sending an e-mail or something out saying what they're planning to do about refunds. I saw something about 30 days, not 90 days. We received credit already for our flights.

This is what I do on a laptop using Chrome but there's similar features on different browsers:

    • Log into Princess
    • Click on "My Account" in the header
    • A menu should drop down and under "Captain's Circle", click on "Cruise History"
    • Highlight "My Profile" and click on "Circle Savings Account"
    • Open up "Future Cruise Credits" and it should show what you have available

Note:  It can take a while to show up here.  I cancelled earlier today and it still shows my FCD that I used for the deposit as applied to the cancelled cruise.

Very helpful. Thank you for posting the directions.

I just got the email as well, and we will be cancelling our March 29th cruise and taking future cruise credit. This was such a good move on Princess's part. What a relief!

We’re rescheduling for a future cruise also.  I was getting pressure from family to cancel so I was relieved to see my email. In my county 34 people have the virus due to one person that got the virus. They call it community spread, the good news Is he’ll recover. Excellent move on Princess and I thank them very much. Till the next crisis, I sure hope not.

In light of the Coronavirus and the POSSIBILITY of being quarantined, are you packing anything extra? We are traveling with our two teenagers next month for Spring Break and taking a cruise out of Florida. Our plan is 'no panic, but be prepared'.

Some extra things on my list since our last cruise are:

    • more Clorox Peroxide wipes (can kill Noro virus - not sure about Corona) than normal
    • latex-style gloves
    • extra meds (over the counter and any prescription)
    • protein bars
    • both DH and I are bringing our laptops
    • extra reading materials

I'd love to know what other cruisers would suggest.

A digital thermometer and airborne for immune support especially if your flying.

  11. THink we received it somewhere around 5 days. THey are very prompt and if you email they will respond with any questions. Best tour ever hopping again in Feb.

I sent them 2 emails and haven't heard a word. I was disappointed. Moving on to something else.

  12. We booked PK Travel and Tours for a port stop in Athens while cruising the Mediterranean. We booked on line before our cruise. Potoula was wonderful to work with. Prompt communication and detailed.

Just the two of us (husband and me) the money spent for a private tour was worth every euro. 5 hours and we saw so much in that short time. Our driver George was knowledgeable, friendly and considerate.Picked us up at the port and returned us to the port. Good driver too.

  13. Regarding the visa question--yes, I am from the US, but no one seemed to need anything other than the sea pass. There appears to be a good reason for this: Instead of just a magnetic strip, the sea pass also had a bar code. At immigration, the officer would scan the sea pass when we entered the country, and when we returned to the ship. Of course, Celebrity scanned our passports when we boarded. I am assuming that they have linked the passports to the sea pass and have shared the data with the country we are visiting. In other words, I think that you do not need a passport or visa because the cruise line has handled this, and shared all of the info with the country. I also think that cruise lines have special arrangements with the countries to facilitate easy entry and exit.

For example, a few years ago we sailed Princess in the Baltic, including a trip to Russia. We did not need a visa. A family member traveled to Finland and wanted to cross to Russia, but could not because he did not have a visa. Hence my belief that cruise lines have an arrangement with most of these countries.

As to the Bosporus boat trip--we just bought our tickets at the kiosk about an hour before the trip, and it lasted about 2 hours. They were 15 Euros each. The water was calm, so very little motion for us that day.

As to Blu--I do not remember the names. Sorry.

Thanks for sharing your review.:) I also appreciate you answering the visa question and the details of why we don't need one.

Enjoyed your review and happy you had a good time.

  14. We always choose Select Dining. We are early diners and arrive at the MDR when it opens in the evening. After booking a cruise, we make reservations on line for the same time every evening. We have always secured a wonderful, permanent table for two for the entire cruise. (We like to be next to the railing.) We greatly appreciate this service.

Here is my question: if we are in a port late into the evening and decide to eat on shore and miss our reservation that evening are there consequences? As we would be a no show, would that ruin our dining reservations for the rest of the cruise?

I tried to find some info on this situation but was unsuccessful.

    Thanks for any feedback….

    Judith

If you know in advance what port you may be delayed, let them know the day

before that you may be detained the following day and to release your table if you don't arrive by your reservation time. That's what I would do. You don't have to tell them you will be having dinner on shore.

Good Luck and enjoy your cruise.:D

  15. So going on Allure of the seas on August 17th to the Eastern Caribbean: Nassau, St Thomas and St Maarten

Where is the best place to eat authentic Caribbean in each of these islands that you have encountered ?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    In St Thomas....Cuzzin's

In Nassau....Araway Cay (plenty of local food to enjoy)

St Maarten..Orient Beach lots of place to choose from.

do a google search on both for directions. Good local food. Enjoy!:D

  16. I'm talking about something so I can plug in my phone to charge it in Europe.

You need an european adapter. In Rome the plugs are round. In the North America (US, Canada) they are square.

You can buy On line, Brookstone or maybe even the hardware store carries them.

  17. At the risk of being impolite, Greece is a cash based country where everyone who can avoid taxes does.

That's why credit cards are accepted at a smaller % of places then any other European country.

Harder to hide your income when accepting credit cards .

There are many places that do take cards BUT you will pay for this privilege as these are higher priced places.

Higher priced but not necessarily higher quality.

So yes places do accept cards but you're better off not using them.

BTW, MRCRUZIN advice is very good. Always notify your CC company that you are away from home.

Very interesting information @ Greece being cash based to avoid paying taxes.

Thanks everybody for all the good advice:) I wanted to cover all my bases "just in case" I wanted to buy something expensive or dine at a nice restaurant. We plan on using our ATM cards to get euros for tours and small purchases. We also plan to notify our bank regarding our travel plans, we have CC that don't charge conversion fees and also our ATM cards are 4 digits. So we are set. I know the restaurants in Italy take CC. You all mentioned retail stores in Greece but didn't say anything about Resturants in Greece, only mentioned street vendors. Do the restaurants take CC?

Thank you so much for your help and good information:D

  18. Normally I would use the search feature but for some reason I cannot find it this morning :o
