  1. What a relief, we have finally cancelled our cruise on Bellisima, well worth losing the deposit for the peace of mind. I am a woman of a certain age with many years of travelling experience and am not easily  influenced by the thoughts and opinions of other people, but the more I read about this ship, the more I regretted the booking.I hadn't voiced my fears with my husband, I hoped I would become more optimistic as time went on, but after he started doing some research, hebegan to voice his doubts, albeit reluctantly. We then decided that if we both felt the same way, what was the point of trying to convince ourselves otherwise.

However I hope everyone who has booked on to this ship has a great time and it is everything you want it to be, at the end of the day we can only do what we think is best for us as individuals, happy holidays😎

  2. I am well aware of your anxiety Viccarol, and try as I have been, I  am not looking forward to my booked cruise on Bellisima, so much so, I am going to cancel, and book a holiday that I will be actually looking forward to. We have cruised on a variety of cruise lines, in the past, and enjoy the experience, but the more I read about this line, the more I regret my booking , losing the deposit will be worth it, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and make a decision and move on.

  3. Looking at booking for Summer 2019, just a few queries if anyone can help

On disembarking day, if you have an early flight, what is the procedure for leaving the ship?

Can you bring your own drinks on board, purchased on trips ashore?

Is all dining open and can you find tables for two?

approx. how much are bar prices e.g wine and lager?

    Thank you:cool:

  4. just returned from a holiday in Skiathos and encountered no problems whatsoever. The shops and supermarkets were as well stocked as usual. tavernas offered their usual extensive menus. We usually paid for our evening meal with a 50e note and nobody blinked and eye. there were a few people at ATM's, but certainly no long queues.

Greece has always been mainly a cash society, we usually take cash and put it in the safe, no fuss, no problem. also cards for any emergencies.

No one, including the Greeks know what will happen, further down the line, but expecting riots and mass shortages is just a waste of time, at this stage

  5. We have now booked for next summer, enticed by some of the new itineries, in particular Italian Flavours, although there were a couple of others we were interested in.

We booked early as we wanted two cabins, one a single for our son who will be eighteen , next year, and agreed to join us as long as he had his own cabin. So as it will probably be his last holiday with us, until he is older and wiser, we agreed. We hoped to book a three nights stay on Corfu, after the cruise, as advertised by Thomsons, but sadly and after a great deal of work by one of Thomsons rep's, this option was not available. Expecting the teenager to stay for an extra seven nights did not go down to well, talk about ungrateful, but that's teenagers and I would probably have been the same.

So I will just have to get my Corfu Town fix, before we sail, as we should be on board before lunchtime.

Trying to forget about it now, as we have two holidays to enjoy this year, but it is so hard not to start reading about the ports we haven't visited before, talk about wishing your life away!!:p:p
