  1. Super excited for this expedition trip.  Never been on one but am seeing different "packing lists".  Trying to minimize the amount of footwear due to weight restrictions so wondering if y'all have suggestions on hiking boots versus a shorter hiking shoe? Do I need both or is one more versatile for hiking but also walking on flat terrain? Also, any clothing items you think are a must would appreciate your ideas as well.  Thanks!

  2. We are joining Venture in June for Iceland/Greenland cruise.  Very excited.  Seabourn indicates "two bags person".  Does anyone know if that means two check-in size bags plus carryon? Or is it truly 2 bags (regardless of size but within their weight restrictions)? The cruise is 15 days so packing is will prove to be a bit of a challenge given the gear needed.  Many thanks,

  3. I am writing this in an effort to sensitize the CC community of the appalling response of Oceania in light of the pandemic.  We are Canadian citizens and based on the travel advisory issued by our FEDERAL government, as a result of a PANDEMIC, we were advised to cancel our cruise scheduled to take place in April 2020.  As responsible citizens of our country, and in consideration of the worldwide health concerns and events taking place, we complied with the government-issued travel advisory and cancelled the trip.  Of course at that time Oceania had collected the full payment of the cruise.  After requesting a refund we were recently informed that Oceania has REFUSED the request, but will instead hold our full payment as a credit toward a future cruise.  In addition we were also informed that when we book the subsequent cruise we would be required to leave an addition amount of money as a deposit!  As of March 31 (two weeks prior to our cruise) Oceania cancelled all cruises, including the one I am writing about.  Passengers informed by Oceania as of March 31 of the cancellations are receiving a full refund, which is completely unfair.  What Oceania is suggesting by taking this approach is that intelligent passengers, who are heeding the advice of Federal authorities, should in fact ignore this advice and risk the possibility of being exposed to a contagion, which is ravaging almost every part of the globe.  We have made numerous requests to our TA, the President of the agency as well as Oceania with no suggestion of refunding our money similarly to all other passengers on our cancelled cruise.  I find this behavior socially IRresponsible and reckless.  Other cruise lines such as luxury line Seabourn is offering guests a full refund as well as discounts on future cruises. If there are other social media tags for Oceania you are aware of please include them in your reply.  I hope to blanket their social media pages.

  4. Hi All
Does anyone have any updated photos of the renovated Sky Suite on Summit?  Also, i

I have read that some folks were unhappy with the patio furnishings and that the chair at the desk is in the way as it does not tuck under the desk? Has anyone requested different balcony furnishings or desk chair?

    Thanks

  5. Was just assigned our suite as we booked at the last minute and took "best available". Have now been assigned a V1 completely forward on deck 7.  Does anyone have any experience with seabourn and their "best available" process? Can we call and request something better? It's only our 4th Seabourn cruise so our status doesn't hold any weight unfortunately.

    Cheers.

  6. Yesterday we took this excursion offered through the shore ex office of Silversea. It was a DISASTER. Do not take this tour. The “captain” (of the excursion not Silversea) was rude to the guests. Belittling us for driving too slow or not knowing what to do according to him. There was no safety briefing. One pax was panicking in the water prior to the snorkeling portion. He did not speak English which made the “captain” more aggravated. Despite the pax being in distress!  Two boats broke down. And one couple (us!) were told to abandon our boat as we were going to slow. Aka SAFE!  The tour was dangerous and the tour staff were rude and an embarrassment to the Silversea brand and experience. The Silver Wind is great. Staff and service amazing. But the Shorex team needs to drop the supplier of this excursion. @SilverseaCruises
