We had Maxi again on our 11 day Southern Caribbean Pearl cruise. He wasn't assigned to the Haven but since we requested him prior through the Concierge desk they assigned him to us on deck 15 along with decks10 and 11. The guy truly has ESP, he knows what you want before you want it and it's there before you need it. Maxi is the best and a great asset to NCL.

Squid, have a great cruise and I'll keep my fingers crossed that the upgrade ferry gives you a free upgrade to one of those open Haven Suites. You are good for their product and a great guy to boot.

I'll email you and get your address so I can mail you a disk of a video of the H2 after we get back. It will be yours to edit and post with your expansive collection of the Pearl videos.

Looks like the Pearl to me and yes, it is as exquisite as it looks! We've had two Pearl Haven suites (H5) in the past and spent a lot of time in that hot tub. We have another Haven suite on the Pearl booked in December. This time, however, we'll have our own hot tub on our balcony (H2). If you're thinking of booking, DO IT! You'll not regret it! It's pure paradise!

Coyboy, we just realized that you'd posted to our thread we started in the beginning of September about the BOSE system. Thanks SO much for all the photos! It's obvious you really enjoyed your cruise! We can't wait for our 11 days in the Black Diamond!

We'll be in the Black Pearl in December. We read Capt. Gunnar was your Captain, correct? He was amazing, so personal, mingling throughout the entire cruise.

Who was your butler and concierge? We were told Monica Foutache was going to be our concierge in December. We had her last December as well. We're hoping Maxi is out butler. Crossing fingers, give us the good word...

Please let us know who your butler is when you return. We'll be on the Pearl in early December. Monica Foutache is the concierge. Hoping we'll get Maxi again as our butler.

That Looks like a H5 coyboy. Our favorite room, had it twice on the pearl, the PERFECT room but our favorite might change after our next cruise. It is a SUITE room!

I'm the other half of LeaveTheKidsWithMom, the wife, Kellie and my vote should count too. Maxi! He's MY favorite! He was our butler on our second Haven suite and was AMAZING! Hoping we get him again in December! We've put in our request with the concierge desk if it helps. ;)

I have to agree, our H5 was PERFECT! So perfect we booked in the same room two cruises in a row. We decided on an H2 (DOS) for our upcoming cruise in December. While I've always wanted to ascend those 19 stairs and anticipate having our own hot tub, I can't image it could be as romantic as our

H5 was. I am looking forward to the panoramic view though.

Teresa on the Jewel in February with my DH. She was so wonderful...delivering our favorite egg white omelets for breakfast, making sure we got "savories but not sweets" every afternoon, and magically appearing here and there at dinners and shows to make sure we were happy and well taken care of.

Kellie... it is simply a tub...no heater. The Room steward will handle filling and emptying.

Thank you, I'm going to get one of those cords, it should work fine on our Onkyo too and I like that you can charge the iPod/iPad at the same time, you are not losing the surround as you do when you use the ear bud connection and we really dont need the video but it is there too.

About the tub, there are jets right? I guess since it's a tub we can use the Elemiss bubble bath:D

The systems are not that new.. I have the same system at home, and because of the high initial cost and the complicated wiring we have with speakers throughout our home and yard, I refuse to change it lol... Our system is seven years old.

 

While I haven't been specifically in the DOS on the Pearl, The system in the Pearl OS (not DOS) plus the Jewel and Jade GVs and the Gem DOS did not take a regular USB nor bluetooth. On the Gem and the Jewel most recent sailings, there were wires in the drawer to connect our iPhones. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the wire names, so was hoping for someone else to answer. but we have two different ones we use at home... Both have ends that attach to the Bose system audio in with red/white/and black wires, although one of our wires is actually green red and yellow lol. The ends we use to connect them to the iPhones/iPads/iPods are different (because we use both iPhone 5 and 4S and various other devices). One has the larger iPhone 4S end that you plug in like the charging cord. The other plugs into the headphone jack on all devices. Both wires are readily available at Radio Shack. Hope that helps!

Thanks Robin, for your feedback. We have a wire we use to play our iPhone/iPod off of our Onkyo stereo receiver at home. One end plugs into the headphone jack of the iPhone/iPod and it splits to a two-wire red and white audio hookup. We lose a little surround sound when we play it like this as we're not plugging our iPod/iPhone directing into a device or using Blutooth but it works just fine. We'll bring that cord. Between that and what the ship/butler may provide, we should be all set. Thanks for your response.

Another question if you don't mind. All over these boards we find conflicting information about whether we have a hot tub or Jacuzzi on our balcony. While it sounds and looks like a hot tub (no spigots), people are saying you have to fill it and empty it each time you use it. Is it chlorinated and heated like a hot tub or does it have a hot/cold spigot where you'd fill it up like a bathroom Jacuzzi but outside? Your thoughts on this would be appreciated as well as you seem to have plenty of first-hand knowledge. Thank you again.

95 days for us as of today but it was 223 when we started. We'd never booked so far in advance. Last year we'd only booked 6 weeks out. While I think it's too hard to wait that long again, contrarily, it's exciting having something to look forward to also.

Can someone with first-hand experience please advise on the exact cord we will need to hook up our iPod to the Bose stereo system in the H2 Deluxe Owner Suite on the Pearl? We'll be sailing in December. Thanks so much!
