  1. I hope to give a post cruise review but in the meantime if anyone has a few  questions about room storage, etc, other domestic affairs, I will try to answer them in the coming week.

Closet doors off track. Only 4 " or so to try to get in to up dresses.  Called for a repair. Hand soap dispenser empty,  no hand towels, or fave clothes.  Salad bar very good,  beautiful chunks of parm. Pate.

  2. Thanks for all of the water tips.  We usually buy the water package on Celebrity but didn't feel like working over $500 to MSC for their non-alcoholic pkg.  We drink a lot o water so these tips have been helpful. Embarking on Seaside this Saturday.

I have Fantastica and my cruise docs (and the website under My Booking) say 5:30 pm. I have booked directly with MSC (Germany).

Thanks Steamboats, you have an advantage over us our North America booking still shows a range of times for late dinner, maybe we'll be able to narrow it down a bit when the time comes to settle the bill.

    Are there tables for 2?

Thank you CC members my dh called and he spoke to a rep explained the situation.

He said i will just comfirm what you told me. He put him on hold came back and said yes you are correct and added $80 OBC.

    Result 👍🎉

We can now use that for some chocolate martinis in Venchi 😉

You folks who are getting success with OBC could you let us know if you booked in 2018 or 2019? MSC is telling us that since we booked in 2019 we are out of luck.

Thank you CC members.  See you at M and M!

I can understand why you are angry in your earlier posts but I honestly think your TA is responsible for much of this:

I don't know when you booked but your TA should have been aware of the end date of 25th March way back in July 2018.

The 5% is something that should be done right away, had you booked direct MSC would apply it right away and I see no reason why the TA wants you to wait until 4-6 weeks after your return.

Lastly, they should just be dealing with this on your behalf and not dragging you into conference calls and then saying they can't help, if the guys on here can sort it out for themselves surly a TA should have the influence.

Don't let all this get you down or it will spoil your cruise, the last thing you want is to board feeling angry with MSC, I really do feel a lot of the blame lies with the TA not MSC.

Just got off the phone with MSC trying to secure an OBC for the missing drink vouchers.  NO can do, period.  Reason given: if we had booked in 2018 we could have gotten an OBC. But we booked in 2019, so we cannot receive an OBC.  The agent, who was very nice DID put it back on the TA, saying that they had all been notified of this change.

We are, at least I am, still open minded about the actual cruise experience, no worries there. DH maybe not so much.  I can't wait to see the ship.  But, but, but......

Finally able to complete.  I guess my TA provides docs to me in reading the fine print.  Now to find out if $68 for a thermal cruise pass is a good price.  Seems they vary...lol

Our docs were emailed to us by MSC about 3 weeks out from cruise.  Yes, we used a TA

This is what I did.  I had applied for one about 6 weeks prior to booking a cruise with MSC and never heard back even with a follow up email.

I was advised by the customer service rep to go ahead and book the cruise and then join the Voyagers Club with my booking # and stateroom # .

So that’s what I did, and voila once I filled out the form with those numbers they immediately assigned me a Voyagers club #....and I mean immediately, it was as soon as I clicked on “submit”, it showed up on the screen.

It took a call to customer service for me to get my status match and discount but we got it after that.

    Good luck!

We did not have a Voyager Club number when we booked cruise, but when we applied it happened quite quickly, maybe 2 weeks.  Because we booked through a TA we are still waiting for our 5% discount, which will eventually come out of the TA's pocket, 4 - 6 weeks post cruise.

  8. Just talking to MSC now, they had a meeting about it this morning, and they "know people are unhappy."  Unnh, yes.

She is contacting a supervisor.  She also let me know that because I booked through a TA, all changes have to be made through a TA.  Tried that yesterday. Waiting

Our e tickets were also re issued this morning without the drink vouchers.  (The ones I printed out a couple of weeks ago included the vouchers)

I phoned customer service and after going through 3 different reps I was given a $75 pp on board credit “for the inconvenience”

So we’re happy with that considering the Fantastica experience was about $90 pp we received almost all of that back in OBC. I’ll use that for drinks or towards the service charge.

I would call them today....you have more leverage to get this squared away now before boarding.

    We sail 04/28

    Good luck!

    thanks, will do!

This is is a classic example of why I won’t use a TA. Nobody will go to bat for me like I can.

Call MSC yourself. It took 15 min phone call and I had the OBC.

    Will hop on this, thanks.

Thanks to you and to "styles27", I was able to call today and get $80PP OBC. I have a Fantastica reservation on the Seaview in June 2019 and I booked in April 2018. I was put on hold to so that the agent check with her supervisor and then she came back and said the credit has been added to my booking.

I can see the OBC credit online under the price breakdown tab.

Another example of their completely random biz practices.  Today we were told in no uncertain terms that no credits were being given.

I just got our documents from our TA today and the Fantastica drink vouchers are on the tickets.  It has 3 stars or asterisks right next to where it says "Fastastica Drink Package" under "What's included."  And when you look at the 3 starts down below it says "12 drink vouchers."  I am waiting for someone to post getting off the Seaside in April, telling us their experience.  And you can be sure I will let everyone know when we sail on 4/27, if we get them or not.

Classic bait and switch or just plain deceptive business practices😖 That is what we are trying to decide.  After a little conference call this afternoon between our TA and MSC we learned that effective March 25, 2019 MSC will not honor the 12 drink vouchers for customers sailing after that date.  Period.  They also are choosing "not to grandfather-in"  customers who purchased, for example, the Fantastica experience which specifically included the 12 drink vouchers.

We also have in our EDocs under "what is included" the 3 asterisks, then below in the fine print it explains that the 3 asterisks denotes that you will receive 12 drink vouchers.  MSC stated this afternoon, as well as our TA, that the CURRENT Edocs that they look at do NOT show these drink vouchers under what is included. In other words, MSC has in fact removed them from Edocs for people sailing after 3/25/2019.

We were told by our TA, off the conference call, to take our printed Edocs which show "in black and white" that we have 12 drink vouchers, to the concierge on board.  Out TA said not to use a highlighter in case it looks like we messed around with the document. We politely asked about a possible credit while on the phone with MSC in lieu of the now non-existent drink vouchers.  We were told that no credits were being or have been given out.

People, we are not big drinkers, just like to chill, have a couple of drinks over the week, and that's it.  But this has touched a nerve.  We are glad that we are not among those who had Black loyalty given, then taken away.

We are also involved in a pursuit of the 5% discount which is a perk for those awarded  Classic, Silver, Gold  and Black levels in Voyager Club.  Our TA said this 5% is taken out of the TA's commission.  Our TA has been kind enough to say they will be sending us a check for the missing amount 4- 6 weeks post cruise.  (This after our rep spoke with a TA supervisor.)

Following is a cut of the email we received this afternoon after starting to look in to the drink voucher question.

As for the drink vouchers, MSC stopped this service on March 25th. The agent I spoke with reviewed your edocs and didn’t see any vouchers. If you have it in black and white, you will have to take it up with Guest Relations onboard.

Lastly, MSC sent out an email blast to Travel Agents regarding this bait and switch or deception, but this was not passed on to us.

We really hope MSC is reading these forums and knowing that we already have a really bad taste in our mouths.

  13. When you address problems with honesty and integrity you create trust and loyalty. When you make excuses problems compound. The cover up is always the more egregious offense.

Would it be so terrible to say......

"Silhouette has a propulsion problem that will be fixed the first week of January. The ship is safe but has, until repairs are made, a lower top speed. Due to the reduced speed Silhouette Eastern Caribbean itineraries thru the end of 2014 will not be making originally scheduled stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment. We will, of course, refund San Juan port fees to our passengers. As an additional gesture of goodwill all cabins will be given $100 (suites $200) in OBC. Guests who choose to book a future cruise while on board an affected Silhouette cruise will be given additional OBC of $100 to $300 to be used while on board or in the future. Thanks in advance for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you aboard."

    Bravissimo!!!!

  14. Can't say enough about the Century. Very clean ship, well cared for and attended to. Staff is beyond courteous, polite, friendly and professional. Dining staff in MDR beyond compare, though our favorite waiter, we learned has moved to Canada...

We be very eager to compare Century to the Solstice which we'll be on 4/11...
