  1. I eat at least one meal and some times as many possible every cruise (29 and counting) in La Cucina.

You can ask that pasta be cooked in olive oil rather than the sauces, if you are weight or dietary issue.

Have you joined the Roll Call for your cruise. There might people on Roll Cal who can make suggestions as well.

    Enjoy

Yes I did join the roll call and I will post the same message over there, great idea!

What kind of food does she like? Are you looking for a romantic atmosphere?

So funny, I was literally just editing my post because I knew it was missing info. She/we are not picky eaters at all but we love "good" food. We are sailing with our kids, my dad and his girlfriend.

  2. We are sailing on the Jewel in November for my wife's birthday. We have three nights of specialty dining and want to use one of those on the night of her actual birthday.

We are curious which restaurant would be the best for her birthday dinner?

I should note, we are sailing with our two kids (2 and 5 years old) and my father and his girlfriend.

  3. We are new to NCL and looking forward to trying NCL. Although we are right at 200 days till sailing, we are interested in what NCL will offer for excursions on our specific sailing. I was on MyNCL this morning and it is only showing six excursions available and only in one of the three ports we are visiting. Am I just looking too early? When can I expect the excursions to be "loaded" on MyNCL?

  4. So we will be new cruisers on NCL Jewel this fall. Of course our cruise is Sunday to Sunday and I am already curious about the football watching available on the ship. I checked the bars and there is no obvious sports bar, but I am hoping they have somewhere on the ship I can enjoy some Sunday football?

P.S. Don't tell my wife, I can already see her rolling my eyes that I'm even asking this question. ;-)

  5. Got the call Tuesday. Up sold from mini-suite to 2-bedroom suite. It has been several years since we sailed in a suite. What has changed with amenities. Noticed new bag tags do not show "suite" or "priority", nor does the new boarding document. Do non haven suite guests check in the "lounge area"? Also, is breakfast/lunch at Cagney for all suites or haven guests only? We really enjoyed Cagney's, it was our favorite perk. We will be on the Pearl departing next Monday, Panama Canal. Super excited! Thank you.

Do you mind me asking what the upsell cost was?

  6. Very interesting. There was no difference in price on the cruise we booked earlier this week. I had read some varying reports, similar to this, about price differences. Maybe we just got lucky? Yes, we did have the gratuity surcharge but that was only $200 for the two of us. We will definitely drink $200 worth of drinks over 7 days.

  7. Enjoy your first NCL cruise, and no, you don't pay for your kids unless they want to order from the Specialty restaurant menu (at the regular specialty prices). Kids eat free from the standard menu in any venue, including the specialties.

This literally just made my day. For some reason I had in the back of my mind I was going to have to pay for the kiddos!

  8. I literally just booked our first cruise on NCL and we are totally looking forward to it. We have sailed Carnival eight times and Disney once. So we are looking forward to a "different" experience on NCL.

Can I ask one clarifying question...do we have to pay for kids in the specialty restaurants if they are eating from the standard, ship wide, kids menu?

  9. We have also primarily cruised on Carnival and have been happy. We are sailing NCL in November for the first time because of the current value of drink package, dining package AND kids sail free. I will be interested in seeing responses as well.
