11 days until we cruise on the Fascination!

I would pick the Fascination since the itineraries and price are almost the same.

We are looking at the same options for our cruise in January. I'm leaning towards Valor. I like the price and the itinerary.

I would go with the Fantasy and save $1400.

We have been to Ardastra Zoo and have always enjoyed it.

I ordered the chocolate one for my husband's birthday. It was delicious. We ate every bite.

41 Days until we set sail. Looking forward to Half Moon Cay!

Splurge:

The room. We have done a grand suite, balcony, extended aft balcony and ocean view. I would not want an inside room. I like to see the ocean.

Cabana at Half Moon Cay. I love being able to have some shade and the amenities.

A Hot Stone Massage (if it is on special, but it is still a splurge)

Scrimp:

We mainly drink tea, lemonade, coffee, ice water, etc. We don't get the Bottomless bubbles any more.

We usually don't drink more than one alcoholic beverage a day, and it is usually a DOD or other discounted drink.

We don't buy the photos any more.

We don't gamble or play bingo.

I recommend a five day cruise out of Jacksonville on the Fascination. It has the Waterworks slides, Hasbro Game Show and mini golf. It also goes to Half Moon Cay and has cruises that leave on Monday. I like the smaller size of the ship because it is easier to find everything and less crowded.

I would go ahead and get a passport as soon as possible.

I like Tampa and hope to cruise on a ship from this port in the near future. I wish they had a Spirit class in Tampa year round.

Fantasy Class! We will be on the Fascination at the end of March.:)

I would pick the Fascination out of Jacksonville. We have only done 5 day cruises also because we drive in from North Alabama. It usually ends up being 7 days away from home because of the drive down.

I would pick the Breeze for all of the upgrades and waterworks.

My daughter had braces when we first started cruising. Do you have any particular concerns? We personally did not encounter anything she couldn't do. We always avoided taffy, gum and popcorn.

I have sailed on both. The Fascination has balcony rooms, the Elation does not other than suites. I love the port of Jacksonville for convenience. Fascination is my favorite of the Fantasy class ships.

Agreed the Fascination has a better itinerary, regular balconies and other upgrades not on the Fantasy. Also I have found it is usually not as expensive as the on the Fantasy when it comes to cruise fares.

Bring her back to Mobile! :D

 

She may have been old, small and outdated, and the short itinerary to Cozumel may have been the same ol', but our cruise on the Holiday from Mobile ranks as one of my favorite!

I agree! I wish Carnival would buy her back and put her in Mobile. My first cruise with Carnival and one of my favorites also.

I believe Macaroni and Cheese is available on the children's menu. You can order anything that is on the children's menu.

Never seen it on the four or five day cruises I have been on. I would love to participate in a murder mystery event on a cruise. I guess we will need to book a cruise on the Pride.

Our first Carnival cruise on the Carnival Holiday back in November 2008. It was an amazing trip and got us hooked on cruising.

I'm planning to take my mom on her first cruise. Of these 2 itineraries, which would you prefer?

 

Freeport, Nassau & Half Moon Cay

Or

Cozumel, Belize & Mahogany Bay

On Splendor, at the Lido buffet cake table, they had 3 different dessert sauces: chocolate, caramel or strawberry.

 

First I would fill a bowl with the vanilla soft serve ice cream. Then choose one of the sauces and then crumble up the chocolate chip cookies on top. I could go for one of these sundaes now.

 

Anyone have any other suggestions to add to this ice cream sundae?:cool:

You could make a strawberry shortcake sundae: put crumbled up yellow cake (pound cake), vanilla soft serve, and strawberry sauce.

or a banana split or a caramel banana sundae.
