If you were happy with and can afford the oasis price. I would go with the Oasis and don't look back. I've been on both ships and the Oasis is a way better and prettier ship hands down. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed both ships. But the Oasis is better and it doesn't tender. Which was terrible on the breeze

Make sure you leave your phone in airplane mode. Or you will probably get charged for cellular phone charges.

Cash tips still make difference in service in our opinion

Scooters are becoming far too commonplace to consider them as certification of disability. Many folks rent scooters for vacations specifically because they anticipate a marked increase in physical activity subjected to a body that hadn't seen much in months. Beyond that, the possession of a scooter mitigates some of the arguments for not going to the buffet.
And some use them to cut lines at amusement parks and etc.

You could always book a speciality restaurant the first night.
I would say anything over fifteen minutes late would be rude.
That's another reason we always book mtd

During Shabbat, observing Jews are to abstain from using electrical switches, so the elevator becomes sort of like an escalator.
I hope the Amish never book a cruise.
It would be hard to find your room in the dark. Lol

What are the four people. If they are four adults. I would definitely pick the aqua suite.

Yes, I've notice a difference between cash tip and tip on receipt. Much faster service with cash tip. I always watch them and they always stick the cash in their pockets.

I say allure because there are many activities for kids on both, but the adults will enjoy the allure much better.
Plus your kids will probably love the flow rider on the allure

Don't be surprised, that your table for two is just inches away from other tables.
We had a party of four with your time dining and the tables were only four inches apart on the side. So don't expect any privacy.

We just returned from Liberty yesterday. We used Galveston Limousine. They are cheaper than Galveston Express, have more vehicles, and they provided outstanding first class service. :)
Yes they are cheap, but very disorganized. From our experience.

This was our first time also sailing out of Galveston.
We had a completely different experience. We had a 1130 checkin and it was a mad house. Plus Galveston is the ugliest cruise terminal.

No they move/switch cabins so if you are lucky you will get someone else. I will post a full review when we get back but I can tell you for what we paid, what is advertised and what the brochure promised our experience was far from even meeting our expectations( which to be fair might be to high. We have had a nice trip (it is vacation after all!!!) but no where near anything special in terms of service.
Did you tip the genie. Since the service wasn't up to par.

N2DFIRE, we did go to the club. Comedians were switched out about midway through the cruise. We just got off the Breeze this morning. They had four different comedians during the week, both doing family and adult shows.
Thank you, for the info
-
Did you go to the comedy club? If so, do they have the same comedians all week or do they change them out during the cruise.

Do you guys complain this much about Fast Passes at theme parks? Do you get a snarky look on your face when you walk through first class on an airplane?
Talk about jealousy, my goodness. Go get a sky/star class cabin if you want to jump the line. Camaraderie between people riding a flow rider on a cruise ship? This is comedy, like the old beach party films. I may just go jump the line to watch and laugh at a bunch of fake surfers pretending to be some sort of club.
saintsfan, if you want to ride the flow rider and consider this a nice perk. Go for it. Don't even concern yourself with a few miserable, snarky, and obscenely jealous folks standing in line.
I agree 100%
You get what you pay for.

Depends on the ship, none on Oasis.
was the last time we cruised on Oasis, also had them on Allure.

No, only Royal's cruises out of Galveston have the alcohol restrictions out to 12 nautical miles.
I wonder why two different cruise lines. Would be different on their drinking rules. Which both say are because of state regulations.
On carnivals website, they say any cruise from Texas, New York or Alabama. That the drink package won't be honored until second day, because of state regulations.
-
Yes, I like that Royals drink package is unlimited. That is one of the reasons we purchase the package. So we can experiment with different drinks, and not worry if I don't like it. On royal, I can just ask for something different. On carnival it would count as one of my 15 drinks for the day. No i usually don't drink that many drinks a day, but on sea days we might sit at the bar and experiment.:D:D
Are these regulations on the drinks, true for New York based cruises?
-
It is a little bit of a pain , but just a few hours before full bar is available, still can get house scotch/gin/vodka etc
Thank you, everyone for the info. On carnivals site it says the drink package isn't even available until the second day. The carnival site says you can still get drinks, but will be charged normal prices to your sign and sail card. Then the package kicks in the second day.
We are looking into book a cruise in October out of Galveston and was comparing carnivals drink package to royals. We haven't sailed carnival in a long time and wasn't familiar with their rules with the package. Which seems weird to me. Since they don't honor the package until the second day. It seems to me it would be the 12 miles from shore, like royal.

We are looking to book a cruise on the liberty or carnival breeze out of Galveston. Carnival says the drink package can't be used on cruise from Texas. Until the second day because of regulations. Is this true on the liberty, i've never heard anyone complain about this before on the boards.
Any info would be helpful, thanks
7 nights on Carnival Magic or 4 nights on Enchantment of the seas Christmas week?
