  1. I was a bit concerned about that cove area not being a real beach. However, when we got out there I saw how wide and long it was then I was totally satisfied. The water is deep enough to canoe and paddle board. It's adjacent to a boat dock with yachts, etc. which is why the long dock is there. We actually walked along it but didn't make it all the way to the end because it was so hot and the water was so inviting. [emoji4]

Also, the water on the other side of the cove looked like it had a strong current and was choppy waters the day we were there. It was so much more relaxed and crystal clear, calm waters in the cove area.

Do you remember if they had snorkeling equipment available either included or for a fee?

    Thanks!

  2. My wife and I are both platinum members and will be taking two of our grandaughters (both 17 years old) on a cruise next year as a graduation present. Question, can they both be assigned together to there own stateroom being minors? Plus on checkin I assume they stay in line with us and bypass the longer line?

We travel with two 16 year olds and we always book hubby and daughter in one room and me and her BFF in another then have guest services swap keys once on board.

This will allow a platinum in each cabin and cause no issues with boarding together and for us it helps with hubby purchasing Cheers and I am not a huge drinker so he only has to buy it since second person in cabin is under 21. Other wise we would both have to purchase and it just wouldnt make sense for us.

    Enjoy!

  3. Question about Miami parking and luggage? We are planning on parking at the port (just easier for us) but we will have lots (and lots) of luggage and wanted to find out if we can drop off the luggage and then have hubby go park car and then wait for him to board.

I just dont want to have to drag all the luggage from the parking garage to the port?

    Thanks!

  4. Just got the attached letter saying that my upcoming cruise on the Breeze is changing the Falmouth Port to Ocho Rios in Jamaica and all shore excursion for Falmouth will be refunded and need to be rebooked. I think this is a good thing but not sure we were planning on doing Dunn River Falls so it will alteast be closer but hate that everything has to be rebooked.

    Here is the Carnival Letter:

  5. Hello All:

I need help, sorry having a hard time figuring it out. We are traveling on the Breeze next month and we dock in GC from 8:00am -4:00pm (will that be ship time?)

I have book a local excursion with Native Waterways and the confirmation says to meet at 8:15am - (Grand Cayment time) but to try to check in at 8am - we don't dock until 8 so just want to make sure I get it..

    Any insight would be great.

    thanks,

    Tam

  6. Hi there!

Just now getting around to booking our vacation starting Sept 12 on the Carnival Breeze. There's going to be four of us and we are looking into the ocean view suites.

Looking at some of the videos available on YouTube of this suite, the pull-out sofa bed is directly across the regular bed. My only guess is that once the sofa bed is extended, there will not be a gap between the two beds to move throughout the room without hopping over a bed. Wondering if this is the case and if anyone has experience with four folks in the ocean view suite.

    Happy Cruising,

    Patrick

We have stayed in the Ocean Suites several time and if you have 3 people the sofe turns into a day bed style bed they would sleep long ways there will be a tabel and walking room between the day bed and your bed, if you have 4 in an ocean suite then the fourth would be a pull down from the ceiling that will be directly above the "sofa/day" bed.

If you go to Grand Suite with 4 then the sofa would be your normal pull out sofa that 2 people can sleep on, so in that case you would be feet to feet with the table and walking area between the two.

We had 4 on the Pride in an Ocean Suite - the review has some pictures in my signature line.

Hope that helps and happy cruising.

  7. I have been on one NCL cruise and attended the M&G for that cruise and it was great. They also had snacks (it was before lunch so they had pastries and coffee/tea and juice) out for us. ALL of the officers including the Capt, Cruise Director and Hotel Director came and stayed the entire time and mingled with the guest.

The one thing I really liked was that the officers gave out their business cards and told us to call them if we had any issues or questions. I really felt like they cared about what we thought and would definately assit if we were have any issues with service or anything.

  8. Of course. Typical Carnival. Once something starts selling like crazy, make it look different and raise the price.

    At $76 its a great deal. At $96, I wouldn't touch it.

I will say the orginial price was $96.00 and then lowered and now new towels were added (design ones instead of the solid blue) and now back up to the orginial price.

  9. OK now back to our regularly scheduled programming......:p

Blackbeards is the store where we got our BBD

Hi - great review thanks for taking the time! We will be in GC in June and want to pick up some BBD! Can you tell me the price per bottle and were you worried about it being delivered to the ship?

    Thanks!

  10. Hello all

I was wondering if anyone has used the Carnival ecards for gambling with their sign and sail and if anyone had any problems using them ?

I bought 10 x $100 with our Citi card points for $900 and was thinking about buying another 10 today to use for some of our gambling. I love having the 10% off ,sort of like $200 more OBC for us :)

It says right on the print out redeem towards activities/shore excursions or onboard gifts, drinks and fun but nothing casino so just trying to make sure

    Thanks

I use them on every cruise - you don't actually use then at each event. You go to guest services or the Kiosk and add them to your Sign and Sail card and then use your card on anything you want. Just use your card at the casino and it will deduct from your credit balance on your S&S card.

Just remember if you have any left over to take it out at the casino (transfer to a slot machine and then cash out) so you don't leave a balance on your S&S card.

  11. Hi Tam! I sailed on three different Carnival ships within the last year and yes, I was able to scan my physical gift card at the machines with no problems. Super easy to do. No worries, it works!

Moviegal - thanks for the info this will make it alot easier and quicker (don't want to waste my vacation time at the kiosk!)

    Thanks!

  12. Hi - I typically order gift cards each week to help cover expenses while on the cruise but I always order the e-gift cards and it is a pain to enter all the numbers into the kiosk.

If I start ordering the actual gift cards to be sent to me - (instead of the email e-card) then can I just "swipe" the card at the kiosk instead of having to enter all the gift card numbers manually?

    Thanks in advance!

    Tam

  13. I bought gift cards as well (love the fuel perks) and paid for the entire cruise by using the gift cards. The site allows you to apply them toward payments for the cruise, however i tried using it to purchase items like room decorations and such from the fun shops but it does not give an option to use the gift cards that way. I am also hoping that i will be able to use the balance of what i currently have on a gift card toward the sail and sign when i get to the ship. I was thinking about purchasing a few more to take on the ship but was concerned that I wouldnt be able to use them.

Yep I buy them to use on my sign and sail account. All you need to do is go to Guest Services or the Kiosk and have them (or you do it yourself at kiosk) apply to your account.

  14. wondering if there is anything I need to have with me if I am taking my son's 16year old friend with us on a cruise? Should I have the mom sign anything ahead of time? Also if cruising out of and back to Galveston can he go with a birth certificate or should he have a passport? Thanks in advance

We have been traveling with my daughters best friend for 4 years now and I always have the notorized letter with medical veribage and her passport. I have been asked for the letter 2x and the other two didnt even ask - BUT it is better to be prepared as you never know and I would hate to have to deal with that mess at the port.

I have attached the letter we have notorized by the father as he has sole custody and I do have a copy of his divorce decree stating that he has sole custody (it was asked for the 2x at the port).

    Hope that helps..

  15. How does cruise cash work? So you pint it out and take with you, or is it already "loaded" on your account?

Cruise cash is loaded on your account when you are on board. You dont need to do anything, however, I would print your rec't that shows you purchased it in case there are any issues.

But be careful, cruise cash is non refundable OBC so it's use it or loose it. I now by the Carnival Gift Cards (ecards so I get them right away) and take them with me and add to my account as needed and save the rest for another cruise day!
