  1. The laundry sheets were Purex and I have not seen them in a long time, they're not even on Purex's website anymore...

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Purex-Complete-3-In-1-Spring-Oasis-Laundry-Sheets-22ct/16419328

That's what it is...and Wal mart seemingly does not have them either.

If you're planning on doing laundry, usually in the travel size aisle they have small boxes or bottles of Tide....you can even get Pods...Tide makes them as well as a couple other companies....though you'd likely have more than you need..

They will probably have detergent on the ship in the laundry room if that's what you want....

I have only seen them on Amazon but do thing they are limited as Purex has discontinued...

  2. Thanks for answering. I don't have a TA or PVP, was going to order online and to have in their rooms on embarkation.

I do this all the time, when traveling with friends and family (usually strawberries or a cake).

If you don't have their booking number - you can just put in the sail date and name attached to room when you order online.

You will get the confirmation and you have the option of them sending a note to the person that they have a gift. (kinda like a gift rec't).

I do this online all the time.

  3. Last time we were in Grand Turk, we were late leaving by about 25 minutes. I had scheduled the Behind the Fun tour for later in the week and someone asked the captain about why we left late (we also left really late in St. Thomas) and he said that it took that long to get the person's passport out of his safe and sign the documents over to the port agent. He told us his responsibility was to the 3000+ passangers on board and not the one that didnt make it. I don't know about any thing else in the safe but they do open it and sign over the passport....we left that person behind!

As for St. Thomas we were about 45 minutes late and the same person asked why that was 45 mins and the other was only 25 min, and apparently the person that did not make it back on the ship was a 16 year old boy that whet shopping with out his parents (apparently got lost?!) and the Capt. said that he could not leave a minor in a foriegn port so he said to us - that it took that long for him to find the kids mother and tell her to pack her stuff and go find her son! Just as she was getting off the ship; he showed up! The Capt. was funny and said that again he had to worry about the people on the ship but since this was a minor he had to let his mother get off the ship (his father stayed on board with the other kids).

It was interesting to hear from the capt. how it all works.....

  4. Gambee - Great review (as usual!) I have enjoyed all of your reviews and this one is no different. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us. I know how much effort they take!

I now have to add the Breeze to my list of "must cruises" maybe after we do the Freedom (going in July!)

Love your pictures they really capture the ship beautifully.

    Happy Cruising!

  5. Oh boy - we're doing the happy dance! It was not a make or break thing and we still would have enjoyed our meals, but I do love having the tablecloths - it makes it so much more of a dining "experience." Even my kids were saying that without the tablecloths it's really not much different than going out to a decent restaurant and they would miss having tablecloths and "fancy" dinners!

Any input from anyone on the new Camp Ocean or any of the other upgrades? Also, was there any live jazz?

It was posted on Facebook - John's FB page that the American Table would start in June on the Freedom.

Sorry - I am not thrilled either - we sail in July and am trying to keep an open mind!

  6. Thanks gambee. I found one with the illustration feature going for just $159 online which I'm getting for my cruise. Your fantastic pictures have definitely sold me onto this camera! It truly turns an ordinary picture into a work of art.

Eagerly awaiting more of your Breeze review. In all of them actually, you really make the reader feel like they're right there every step of the way. Love it!

Can you share the type of camera that you found? I have a great camera that I love but would love the illustration mode at a decent price?

    Thanks,

    tammi

  7. Do you see you cruise cash balance anywhere on you reservation online? Or do they tell you your balance when you check in?

Sent from my iPad using Forums

It does not show anywhere on your reservation (the old funship dollars did) but you will receive a rec't in your cabin for each amount that you applied and it will be on your account when you get there. I always bring my confimation emails and match them up to make sure all has been applied correctly. I have never had an issue but do this as a check.

  8. Hello,

I currently have a cruise booked under Early saver.

Sometimes I look around on other I guess you could say Travel agent websites, I saw that there was a price for the cruise I am booked on - it is the same rate that I am booked on with Carnival.

The reason I am querying this, is that I was wanting to change what promo I am booked under. I was hoping given that I found this price elsewhere, Carnival would keep the price as is that I have booked and put me under the "Upgrade Your Summer" promotion.

Asking this, because I know that being under this promo you have until 30 days before sailing to have it paid off, and this sounded a little appealing.

    Thanks :)

Once Early Saver - always early saver....you can price match under ES program to another promotion but you will stay early saver.

  9. I'm trying to book FTTF now on the Shore excursions page. Do I select everyone in my cabin or just one of us? It's confusing!

The price is per cabin not per person....just select one person and it will be for everyone in that cabin.

  10. Not to sound like a buzz kill, but do you know for sure the RFP on Freedom will serve the bar foods? Breeze and Magic both do, the RFP was added to the Sunshine and Legend during their refurbs, but neither of those serve the bar foods.....something about a kitchen not being included with those additions.

I was not aware of this - so I do not know for sure that it will have food. Hopefully someone that has been on a recent sailing can give me an answer?

    Thanks,

    tammi

  11. I was just wondering if anyone has purchased this? If so, how big are the towels? Also, can they substitute non-alcohol sparkling juice for the champagne?

I rec'd this as a gift on our last cruise and it was really nice. The towels are normal beach size and very plush. I did't exchange the champagne so I can't comment on that. But the rest of the bag was nice.

  12. Hello all!

we are going on the Freedom in July and they will have the new Red Frog Pub (yay!).

    • I was wondering what type of food do they have in the pub?
    • And what is the cost for that food?
    • Was it any good -worth it?

thanks! I am excited to try all the new 2.0 upgrades!

    Thanks so much!

  13. Total was $1040.26 for 2 people ( gratuities included ) and it's for 5 days.

Hi - What days are you sailing? I looked at all the 2016 dates on the freedom and the lowest price for a regular suite was arou 850 PP?

are you sure it was the captians suite?

  14. Okay, weird question.

I'm in charge of distributing the wristbands for our CC group. I don't want to wait until our meet and greet. I want to give them out on the first day by sliding them under the cabin doors in an envelope. Is this possible? Is there room under the door for me to slide a skinny envelope? Thanks.:D

Every Cruise I have been on have mail boxes next to there doors? That may be an option.

  15. May 8

I did a mock booking today and found that rates have come down again!!!!

I called Carnival and got DSs and friends cabin reduced by $100!!!! Every little bit helps. The final payment is not due until May 21, so I will be checking again before that date to see if I can get another reduction.

DS had his first wreck on Tuesday  Fortunately no one was hurt. The car is another story:eek: Talk about bad luck -- On Monday, I dropped collision from his car insurance because he has been such a good driver. Then on Tuesday, he rear ends someone.

Maybe I should cancel his cruise as punishment???

    43 days to go...

Congrats on the price drop - I got $100 off my DD and her friends cabin today too!

As for canceling his cruise - I wouldnt given his track record you don't want to jinx your cruise and have something happen! LOL

  16. Did you book early saver? With 3 rooms I could have saved over $900. but didn't book early saver (booked too late) and they wouldn't budge on OBC or upgrade. :(

We are booked under the current 123 Summer promo not early saver (missed the window) and our final payment is not due until 6/5 so we are eligible for price drops until that date. One of our cabins (we have 3) went down by $100 this was our inside for the kids the 2 balcony cabins did not go down this time but last time it was $400 on each!

  17. I don't understand some of the answers here, especially the "My cabin" attitude. It's one thing to peek into an empty cabin before the new occupants arrive or old ones leave. The doors are OPEN and waiting. If you drop off carryons, why can't you just shut the door making it non visible?

I completely agree - it's mine when I get there but otherwise if I don't have stuff in the room who really cares (well I guess the OP does!) but someone saying they would call security is just absolutely riduclous.
