I booked a cabin using points transferred from Amex.
I was a little annoyed at one thing. They say to check availability, simply search the cruise and if there are terraces available, youre good to go.
So I initiated the transfer from Amex, and then once that went through I applied for the redemption.
Once I got my code, I checked again, and the booking I wanted showed as available. All good. Made it all the way to the last stage where you pay taxes ($350) including being assigned a cabin. But when submitting, the transaction failed.
I tried again the next morning, and it failed again. I called in, and the agent said the max number of points redemptions had been reached for that voyage. Hm, thats pretty different from what I had read. I checked again, and that very day new language had been added to the bottom of the promo page about blackout dates, including the one I was trying to book for.
I ended up booking the following sailing, but it was annoying to go through that hiccup.
