I sure hope so since I am on this inaugural voyage. Perhaps they will start the refurbishing (breaking down the cabins) during the crossing since it is mostly cosmetic but it seems a tight schedule. We love the smaller R ships. Our first cruise ever was on the Regatta.
My first cruise was on Regatta in Nov. 2007. A TA that the captain referred to later as "a challenging crossing". Now, fast forward 9 years and I am sailing on Sirena on April 27. Cruise # 17. Love the small ships.:)

I understand that Sirena has been turned over to Oceania, as of yesterday. What will happen to her now? Will she stay in Miami, go somewhere else for refit or what? I am curious as she needs to be ready for the April 27th sailing.

Sorry for the dumb question, but as a newbie to Oceania, what is an artist in residence, and is there one on every cruise?
Only the 2 O class ships have the artist in residence for the Artist's Loft. I have seen folks doing watercolors, scrapbooking sort of things and photography. Usually there is a showing of guests work near the end of the cruise.

Being a vegetarian, no animal flesh, I like to be able to see what I am going to get. Therefore, I enjoy the Terrace at night. The buffet has never let me down. It seems as though you can find whatever you want, especially now that the grill is there. In Polo, I order a salad, baked potato, and grilled mushrooms. Good enough for me. After all, it's not like we, the passengers, are starving. Will be on Sirena on April 27. Very excited.

There isn't any room for a pool up there.
As the deck plan suggests (does nobody read them?) You'll find a large hot tub which they are calling a Spa.
What happened to the Thallosotherapy pool? It was there a few months ago.

My cabin is starred as having "special features". Any idea what it might be? Not a blocked view, I hope. Thanks. Laura

Since you are in a penthouse, your butler will commit hari-kari if he can't get one for you.:D
I wholeheartedly agree. Several times I have brought flowers onboard, and either they were taken from me at the gangway, taken somewhere, beautifully arranged and delivered to the cabin, or taken to reception for arrangement and delivery. Never have had a problem.:D

I was told once that O makes everything except the French fries.
-
Yes, Any stateroom category and with or without the package!
I believe that they meant that they have brought Vodka onboard previously with Oceania, and that IS allowed! :D
That's correct. I always bring my own spirits and it is allowed.
-
I have always brought a bottle of my favorite vodka onboard. If I choose the prestige package I won't need to carryon, correct?:D
-
The wine List is the same for both the House and the Prestige Packages.
The downside to the House Package is only being served in a restaurant during meals or in your cabin while room service is in progress.
The Prestige Package is akin to open bar at any time that there is any bar open on the ship, and that includes the service bars, so it's pretty near 24/7.
Full disclosure: Some single malts, and most high end Cognacs' are also off the table, plus you can't get a drink on disembarkation day unless you've brought it aboard, personally!
Good luck, folks!
I, too, am trying to decide if I should sign up for the Prestige package. I enjoy higher end spirits. Let me get this right - I can get a cocktail in my A1 cabin anytime. Can I get a drink and return to my cabin to the veranda? Just trying to decide. Thanks for the input. Laura;)

Hi!
Dottie will be replacing Leslie Jon as CD on Jan. 23rd.
Rhea
P.S. They are both excellent Cruise Directors!
Both Dottie and Leslie are wonderful CD's. I have heard that Leslie will be the CD on Sirena in April. Any truth to that?

It might help if you tell us who told you there is a partial obstruction.
:)
The agent with O told me this on the phone when I called to ask about availability.
-
I'm told there is a "partial obstruction" on view from these cabins. Anyone know first-hand what this is? Any pictures, Stan and Jim? Thanks in advance.
-
Thanks, StanandJim. Portofinoitaly - we switched our Vista to the Owners. Did you choose 7004? We are now in 8064. Thanks all for the great info. Laura in LV

I just read about the "new remodeled bathroom" with the large shower. I am unable to find any really good pics of the suite itself, other than the 1 pic on the website. Would you be so kind as to post some pictures of the Owner's Suite. Greatly appreciated. Thanks. Laura in LV

We bought the 7 bottle package and thoroughly enjoyed our selections. They will even change a bottle for you if you particularly like one of your selections. Will most likely do the same in May on Regatta.

I am taking my 15th O cruise in a couple of days. I have met many very nice people onboard. I don't really need to be entertained on vacation, but I have found lots of fun activities to take part of with fellow cruisers. I am so looking forward to Saturday. Miami here we come.

We are sailing on Nov. 29th on Riviera. I am thinking of bringing my mom a wheelchair. She can't walk distances or stand for longer periods. I figured this way we can get to all points on the ship without wearing her out. We are in a PH so I figure we can store the chair in the closet when not in use. Any thoughts?

A different soup every day and always homemade and delicious. Salad bar is fresh and has lots of variety. There is also a cheese platter every day with choice of fruit and crackers to go with. Enough already??
-
The noise didn't come from Waves Grill, but Waves Bar. There is a small kitchen area next to the bar and we think that is where the noise was coming from.
-
Just returned from a Caribbean cruise on Riviera. We were in cabin 11026 (PH1). This cabin is located just under Waves Bar and the Culinary Center. All day long and some nights there were all kinds of noises:eek:. Rolling of carts, dropping things, pounding on something and other noises were a constant. The executive concierge tried to put a stop to the noise, but she was not successful. I would think "O" could install some of those gel mats or something. I would seriously reconsider taking this cabin if it is offered. Otherwise, the ship is beautiful.

Being vegetarian there is always a huge selection to pick from. Satish on Regatta has always been very helpful finding a selection for me. You can't go wrong with any of the soups, they are all fabulous. The pasta, made to order, and hot appetizer choices are the best. I am making myself hungry. Looking forward to this Sunday, Oct. 7 to be back onboard Regatta.

I think the ship will anchor and see if you can get the boat to Santa Margarita. It is at the end of the bay and a lovely city with a statue of Columbus pointing out to sea. Beautiful!!
