Trying to recall how long it's been since smoking was allowed on balconies on any mainstream cruise line.

It's been at least 10 years, probably more.  Not sure why there is even a question about it any more after an entire decade+ of it being prohibited.

Smoking is a personal choice.  I'm all about personal choices, as long as they only affect the person who makes that choice.

But, as others point out, smoking affects others, too.  I can't tell you how many times I've come out of the Cruise Casino having to change clothes because they smelled and were permeated with cigarette smoke.  That doesn't even speak to the 2n hand smoke irritants.

But, after so long, this really isn't even a question any more.  You can't smoke anywhere on a cruise ship except in designated smoking areas.  And, your balcony isn't one of them....just like hotels.  You can't smoke in your room or outside your room.

And going into a designated smoking area is a "personal choice"🙄

So, I’m trying to book a cruise for My husband and I plus our 7yo son. They’re saying Kids Sale Free. When I go through the book process it said it was $1,013 pp plus $136pp taxes/fees. Balcony room with room selection included.
When I get to the total, it comes out to almost $3,500 & their break down shows a $940 charge for the child, not 0. My question is, how does that reflect the child sailing free?
    My math says

    1,013 + 1,013 + $0 + (136 x 3) = $2,434

Even when I put in just 2 adults it still only totals out to around $2700 (they added a fee to select your own room for 2 people).
RC is not understanding, so is there something I’m missing?

    Nothing is free on RC.

We are sailing on Harmony later in the month and I have gotten two email notices so far about a balance being due for my cruise that was fully paid before payment was due in late March.  Last week (4-1-2022), I received a "balance due" notice and called the D+ desk who looked at my reservation and the representative said that although my invoice (that she could see) shows a zero balance, my file also has an invoice that shows $50 due.  The D+ Rep contacted resolutions and I finally spoke to a Resolutions staffer.  This staffer said that RCI is having IT problems that cause these "balance due" notices keep getting generated and emailed to fully payed cruisers.  She told me that they have been trying to work with the IT department to resolve the issue.  She also told me that my glitch was caused by an item in my Cruise Planner that was cancelled and RCI owes me a refund (rather then my needing to pay $50.)  She said that RCI would refund the cancelled Cruise Planner Item to my onboard credit and my Visa (that's how I paid for it).  I think the refund has been made to my OBC but no refund has been posted to my Visa card.  I was on the phone for 55 minutes.

I thought the problem was resolved on 4-1-2022 however I got another Balance Due notice from RCI for the same $50.  I talked to a D+ reservationist who finally had me talk to another person in Resolutions.  After I held on for awhile, she told me she would call me back once the problem had been resolved with IT.  It's been 3 hours and I haven't received a call back.  This call lasted 55 minutes.

From my conversations with RCI, I understand that this IT glitch has affected many cruisers.  They are assuring me that they won't cancel the reservation (we booked a Grand suite and were really looking forward to the cruise).  But I want the situation resolved with no more "Balance Due" emails coming to me.  I am also afraid of getting to the pier and having no reservation.

All of my invoices show that I have paid in full.

I guess being D+ don't mean that much LOL

A mask does not prevent smoke from getting on your clothes or in your hair. I am a nonsmoker (used to) and would like to play in casinos but not if there is smoking. About 80% of Americans are nonsmokers. It seems to me that cruise lines are catering to a small portion of potential gamblers by allowing smoking.

    Try another cruise line!

After at least six cancelled cruises, we are to sail 25 March on Enchantment, and one of the ports is Nassau. The reviews I have read have been mixed. We enjoy active excursions, not shopping, and like to see historical structures and natural beauty. I have a walking tour from GPS My City, but many comment the area is not safe. Walking and exploring are fave activities, and I would like to see Queen's Staircase and the Parliament Buildings, etc. Blue Lagoon was mentioned, as was Pearl Island (prefer less commotion). But we have done dolphins/stingrays, etc. at other ports. Also, we are not "lay on the beach" types, and wonder if Pearl Island is worth it after visiting Coco Cay the same cruise.

Any and all input greatly appreciated.

    Stay on the ship!

  6. These are CHECK-IN TIMES not BOARDING TIMES,If your check-in time is 11:30 but the ship in not boarding yet,You go to the waiting area and sit in your crown&anchor area,So if the ship starts to board at 12:30 IT will go in the order of your C&A status,NOT YOUR CHECK -IN TIME.So say your C&A IS GOLD AND YOU CHECKED IN AT 11:30 YOU WILL BE THE LAST TO BOARD

I remember hearing that years ago concerning smoking on balconies, connoisseur club. Gone. Heard that same argument years ago concerning smoking in the casinos on Celebrity ships. Gone. We took a cruise on Holland in 2001 and at that time there was a section of tables in the back of the MDR that allowed smoking. Gone. 🤣

Ok come back in 10 more years, And i will tell you again I TOLD YOU SO.Again RC cares more about Money then you.

It's unfortunate that RC doesn't take some of the money you donate to them and upgrade their ventilation system to keep the stench from leaving the casino and into other venues. Only speaking for myself and my wife we don't gamble, no reason for us to be in the casino and we have no issues walking out our way to avoid going thru the casino to to avoid the stench and to get to where we are going. Based on everything you said you then would have no objections if RC had a policy in place that would not allow smoking in the casino when the casino is closed? No reason for smokers to be in the casino using it as a smoking lounge as some do and will continually to do.

If you or your wife do not gamble,Why do you care so much about what go's on in the casino when it is closed? And if RC don't care why do you?If i was a non smoker and the smell bothered me that much i would find a new cruise line to spend my money with,Not continue to cruise with them and then come on here and complain.🙄
