  1. I too am just off the ship today, and i will agree with some of the things you said.

I went with my husband, 14yr old son and my parents, they have been on the Brilliance 4 times and love it, but they also agreed this was a disaster. I will echo you on the service/staff they were amazing, every where you turned was a smiling face, they were wonderful. Our first night in the MDR which was Thanksgiving all the food was cold or just luke warm, very disappointing, the escargot was cold, the shrimp cocktail was served with ketchup, we mentioned it to our server but assured us nothing would be cold again, well second night we did Chops (which was amazing) the next time in the MDR he threw 5 tablespoons of horseradish in the ketchup and to me that was just being an ass, i made it threw, but the rest of dinner the eggplant was good, but cold, he heard us complain and then came out and threw 4 more plates in front of us, now no need to act like that... Just serious??

Needless to say we never went back to the MDR not only was it cold, no flavor whatsoever like the chef had no palate.

we ended up in Windjammer which things there were luke warm as well, was not a fan there either..

Had toilet issues all of floor 3 and 4 off and on, i had no hot water in my cabin for the last 3 days, that was luke warm, Hummm i see a trend...

The rest of the ship was well decorated for Christmas, they must fix all the rust around the pool, when the pool was emptied for Volleyball it exposed alot of rust...

  2. Thank you thank you! November 26th can't come soon enough. I have a question regarding the sail away. I booked a reservation at Cagney's Steakhouse for 6:30 hoping to get outdoor seating for the sail away. This is our 45th Anniversary and I wanted something special. Any thoughts on the timing of dinner and sail away?

We just got off this past Saturday and we did Cagney's during sail away, our reservation was for 6:30 and sat outside, it was wonderful, hope your sail away does not have rain, ours did, but it was still pretty

  3. Whats bad about this, is i was on the same cruise, i was soooo sick Tuesday night with a severe sinus infection, so i stayed in my room, our room steward which never came to turn our beds down till 9pm asked if i was ok cause i didn't look good, i was all like yeah not feeling good, then at 11pm by son comes in the room hands me the Noro paper and at first i thought i was turned in, but it was telling everyone what was going on. Im sorry for those who got sick... hope yall are better,im glad i brought a Z pack on board with me cause i felt like death

  4. Maybe I spoke incorrectly. I've been keeping my eye on a few cruises and have found that the guarantee categories come without promotions. I know this is a "fairly" new plan. So, maybe it's just some sailings or maybe it's one of the changes. This is what I see when I look at my upcoming Escape cruise.

    Guarantee Mini-Suite

A Guarantee stateroom (GTY) guarantees a Mini-Suite stateroom or better! Please note that the view from your balcony may be fully obstructed or partially obstructed. Your stateroom may be on any deck and assigned up to one day prior to embarkation.

Promotions are excluded on this category and not recommended if you have specific - deck & window preferences, proximity to elevators, etc.

I did call and they told me at the time I booked it, the promotions came with the guarantee mini suite, so I was lucky at the time I booked...

  5. You know I saw that post too, and it is actually completely up to NCL, the parameters with which you booked, whether or not it was an incentive/promotion for you to book, or whether you booked an inside cabin and moved up to a Mini-Suite Guarantee.

However, the OP is correct in saying what they did.

If I try to book any kind of a "Guarantee Cabin" now from the website, it will specifically state that I am NOT eligible for any promotions in consideration of the lower cost.

If I were already booked in, say, a Balcony cabin and I upgraded to a Mini-Suite Guarantee category, then I am still permitted the incentives and promotions I was given when I purchased a Balcony category.

But that is not always the case as I have seen. Booking through an off price agent such as the Airline Employee Rate company Interline, or other regular discount websites, I have seen that the incentives and promotions are still included in their bookings.

So ultimately, you both are right per se. There are parameters.

Thank you for that bit of info, I will make sure when I make my final pmt on July 10th
