This ship is beautiful, just got off the holiday cruise on the Serenade Dec 23-Jan 4th had a wonderful time, BUT if you don't get your deck chair by 8am you wont get one.... hope the teenagers are not like this batch, they were horrible... it was fairly decorated was hoping for a nice big tree for a nice pic but it was in the dining room... New Years was crazy all squished in the Centrum, my room steward was super awesome, once side of the Windjammer in the morning the wait staff were straight faced and un friendly, over all great ship too many rude passengers...JMO

Just got off the 12 night and we did not get Shrimp till night 6

They changed the requirement that both have it, to that each can get whatever they want, back in late 2013.

 

 

That's an expensive package. Will you actually utilize that? Would your onboard spending for drinks actually hit that dollar mark? Did you know that there are different types of drinks packages?

It is very expensive since we are doing a 12 night Christmas cruise, I wanted to be able to taste all drinks... plus beer, but then my husband got me thinking if I get a cold on this cruise I won't want to drink, then I wasted all that money, it stinks cause damned if u do, damned if u dont

Thanks, that's a plus, even thought 700 for 2 people sounds better then 1...LOL

question on the package, I drink, my husband is diabetic and does not drink, do we have to get a package for both of us or just me? I have been bouncing back and forth on paying almost 700.00 for 1 person which is INSANE but I haven been interested

silly question, where are the shrimp cocktail and escargot or is that like the everyday menu??? we are leaving on the Serenade for Christmas and my 12yr old LOVES Escargot

I'm hoping things were a fluke we are going on this ship for Christmas/New Years with my parents, hubby and 12yr old son... :)

No the days of the week were not in the elevator, my 11yr old pointed that out right away!!!

I must say, I went to every show on this cruise and this was the best I have seen on all my vacations, the singers and dancers were excellent the comedy shows were awesome, and the Motown group was great (the one guy signed my 11 yr old sons hand..LOL) I saw the Piano man a couple times, not to many people in there, he was good.. I never went to any events in the Centrum since there is no room in there, its the most insane place to have an event!!! Me personally didn't care for the CD but that's me... was not happy with the Miller Lite situation...it was a part of the I.T. problem... heard to many stories, wish I could remember names but loved the 2 men in Park Café every morning, and 2 waiters I had by the pool during the day, but I was most IMPRESSED with Adventure Ocean!!! being a ship that was not used to kids sure had one of the best staff in AO my son has ever been with!!!

It shouldn't be a here and there thing, kids get used to things, I mean maybe to a certain point, cause lets looks at the facts here, things will not just be handed to you forever...

I see where the coffee drink since kids do go to age 18 but maybe make it coffee or ice cream... so much more then can do or look to improve, I mean they may be doing things awesome on these new larger ships, but its not fair for the kids who are sailing on the smaller ships

Wow we just got off the Vision on Saturday and are platinum and my son has NEVER gotten a gift, not even the crayons!! we are lucky a towel animal is made..

As far as the "coupons" he gets those, this time was some arcade credits but u have to activate their card, he got a coffee drink (he is 11) he never uses his coupons... a small ice cream would be better, offer that one up...

what made our balcony bareable was my parents stayed on the other side so we had them open the door i was able to move my chair a bit, but it made thier balcony worse since the door opened to thier side... my dad used to like putting my legs up and stretch but being 6'4 that didnt work not wide enough..

I had R543 and if its your basic balcony its fine, just a small balcony, also if you have a 3rd person with the pullman down the bed up against the wall, you cannot see the TV big disappointment

Are the unexpected boys still on there?? They were good..I saw thrm I believe on the caribbean princess last year but I think they replaced some members..

We too just got off the Royal today and were with a group of 14. It wasn't my favorite ship out of my 12 princess cruises, which makes me kind of sad considering how excited I was for a fresh breath of air in design.

 

Well the interior was gorgeous and loved the new decor but the logistics of things was a bummer. (Elevators, Princess LIVE, ect)

 

Elevators seemed really small and everyone would pack on.

 

Food was AMAZING! Hands down best we've had!!

 

Pools were large and tons of room and never felt like we were fighting for good chairs.

 

We all really missed Skywalkers! Level 6 just wasn't the same.

 

We too had a problem with Princess Pelicans. Our son turned 3 last week and they treated him like he should be 5. Sure, he's a tall 3 year old and looks 5 but don't expect him to be perfect. I truly felt 2 out of the 3 ladies disliked him. He's a sweet little 3 year old. It's his 5th cruise but 1st we could bring him to the kids club. So it was disappointing when we were so excited to have him be included in kids programs this cruise.

 

Buffet took getting used to but we all ended up liking it by the end of the week. They had yummy gyros that took us until the end of the week to realize they had in the "hibachi" part of the buffet.

 

All in all, any cruise is a good cruise. But will definitely book other ships before the Royal.

I felt the chairs in the Princess Live were so uncomfortable, and your right the elevators were small, no way can you fit the limit of 18 people..

never ever had an issue with finding a chair except the last day when they had to close the main pool due to illness inside the pool..LOL other then that perfect, i liked sunbathing where the fountains were so i could watch the big screen, even though some of the concerts were not so good...but not a big deal

Wow seems threre is a staffing issue, and my husband told them on the phone that, the main lady wouldnt even make eye contact with us as we left the ship yesterday seemed they had more kids in the Pelicans Vs Shockwaves the 12yr old that caused all the problems according to the boy who was being bullied said he was on his 3rd warning and what he said was his final warning, that night that same kid the 12yr old had to be seperated from the kids at dinner cause he was causing ruckus if the staff paid attention the issue never would have gotten out of hand, everytime we walked past the door they would be standing at the counter, not interacting with the kids, the kids were either on the computers, or playing air hockey or watching a movie...which is all good, BUT if you are a member of the youth staff you are supposed to interact with the kids and have fun, maybe not im not sure....

My son is not perfect thats why i needed and wanted to get to the bottom of this situation so ME personally could correct and deal with the situation at hand, being a bully which after all was said and done my son had ntohing to do with that, and that youth staff should have appologized to my son for accusing him when the poor 8yr old boy never mentioned MY SON

Yes, the more people who have a bad experience needs to speak up or it will never get fixed, the games were a blast for him, we couldnt leave him in the room at Cays cause it was full, ran out of room, no biggie had to book the night before for him to stay in there when we went on St. Thomas he ate dinner with them once, my thing is, if you dont want to be there leave, talking about the staff when we went on the Carribean Princess last yr he had a blast the staff in the youth program were awesome, on Royal Carribean they are excellent!!!! i built myself up for this to be disappointed and to have my child kicked out of something he should have!!!! upsetting...i can say i tried it

Ok you ready for my review on the kids program? it was HORRIBLE started out ok, the only reason he wanted to keep goin back was the video games... the staff in Shockwaves had no personality what so ever!!! straight faced, never saw a smile!!!

The BAD part, on Friday my husband goes to pick my son up who is 10 a boy in there whom was 12 was throwing things at my kid, and a chewed up ring pop, my husband saw this, told the kid do not throw things at my son, the staff were not even watching, so we take him out for the night, the next morning he gets a call from the staff manager to come and speak to them, he goes there and apparently a child who was 8 was being bullied, my son was mentioned by the older kid, well about an hour later a message on our phone says to call them, we do and my son was kicked out of the program, banned!!!! they said they interviewed all the kids and they said it was MY son who was bullying the boy, calling him fat, saying he was gonna be raped and more things, well we were pissed, i asked my son to find the kid that was being bullied, we saw him, my son approached him and they were talking like they were best friends, i was iffy on all this, ran into the mother and started asking questions caus ei wanted to know if my son really did this, come to find out my sons name was NEVER mentioned by this kid and he said he never said anything!!!! so the other kids lied and my son got blamed!!!! hubby went to the higher ups raised hell, the one lady said she does not have time for this...a phone call will be going to a higher up!!!! my son was upset!!! and the poor boy who was being bullied!!!! The staff had no clue in there and i feel sorry for them this week cause they said close to 900 kids!!!! they couldnt handle what they had, i saw bar staff more capable to watching and having fun with the kids!!!!

Just off as well...were u on the elevator with me when it got stuck?? Lol we were stuck on one had to call using the phone on the elevator. .was kinda scary not gonna get into to much not happy with our vacation but had more to do with the kids program but over all a wonderful ship..pretty but needs customer service skills worked on
