  1. Thank you!

Wow! More SEC fans. We did root for the Gators to beat GA eventhough we are Auburn fans. I am from Florida, born in Key West, lived in Orlando and most recently Panama City. My parents are in Umatilla (down the road a piece form you) and my daughter graduated from UCF so we are Floridians stuck in the NW right now but actively trying to get back tothe South and our roots. Gina is from AL and hence why we are Auburn fans.

    Take care,

    Toni and Gina

  2. Hello Everybody -

We're back from our wedding and honeymoon cruise and we had an absolute blast!:D

    Carol and Linda.

    Hi Carol and Linda,

Welcome back! You sure missed some bad wind storms here while you were gone but sounds like it followed you up there. Gald to hear that all went well and your wedding was lovely. We still need to get together some time and meet since we live so close to each other. Last year you went to the Nutcracker, are you going again this year? Understand the back tot he grindstone. We are busy with work and each of us are taking two classes this term DL. We have a couple of buisness trips, a trip to see my daughter week after next, the Feist concert downtown and then we leave for Florida over the Christmas break. Our cruise is not until April but we are really anxious to hear about your Olivia adventure when you get back as we have been toying with going for awhile.

Let us know if you are up to meet for lunch or dinner someplace.

    Toni (Gina too)

    Hi Mo and CJ,

Wow, you had great weather on your cruise. We went Inside passage on the Infinity August 19th and did not see nearly the sun you did. Your pics are great and it looks like you got some really nice shots of the clouds too with the sun peaking through. I could tell it was a pretty sight but it never seems to be the same in pics as in real life.

Good Luck on your next cruise!

  4. Dollfan--we are taking the 14-day Celebrity Millennium May 5, 2008 RT to Alaska from San Francisco. It is a fun itinerary--Astoria, Seattle, Ketchikan, Juneau, Hubbard Glacier, Skagway, Sitka, Vancouver, Victoria, home. Wanna come with? They are selling out quickly, though, and the prices of the cabins have risen amazingly since we signed up.

    Kristen

Thanks for the invite but we did Alaska last month and it will probably be our one and only to Alaska. We had a good time but we live in Seattle and it was allot like Seattle to us. You should enjoy the ports though. Seattle is great, Victoria is beautiful and very clean. Be sure to hit Buchart gardens you won't regret it and of course shopping in Victoria. There is an Irish pub thats pretty good too, especially if you like corned beef and cabbage.

Ketchikan was okay but be sure to see the totems. All the vendors as you get off the ship are owned by the cruise ships, so you aren't helping out the local economy there.

Juneau, was pretty fun. We rented a car from "rent a wreck" and I highly recommend it. We got a car for the day for $57 and they picked us up at the port. We drove ourselves to Mendenhall Glacier where we saw a mama bear and her two cubs and of course the glacier (free) and then went to the Alaskan Brewery (very good and free!) and then the Salmon hatchery (also free) and then to the salmon bake (again free for cruise ship patrons) We didn't have to stand in any lines and were able to see more than anyone else on the ship in one trip for only $57.00.

We didn't like Vancouver (we thought the city was very dirty) but we did not do any tours either so we can't comment on that.

You will love Hubbard, although the time of year you will be going will prevent you from getting very close which is unfortunate but it is very pretty there going and coming.

Good Luck and have a great cruise! We will stick to our fav...the Caribbean.

    Toni

  5. Mithryl--

thanks for the recommendation--Kathy was saying she wouldn't go up there unless she could eat at the restaurant, so maybe that will be our game plan. Lunch and sightseeing there plus a stop at Salumi's may be it--we're only in port till 5! (which means that we automatically miss out on the Tillicum Village tour and salmon feast, which is the one thing which really would have made our trip perfect, believe it or not)

Etoile--I will check futher into the card, but it is $55 for the one-day version--I'm not sure we'll have enough time to make the savings....

And I was curious about the locks up there, but oh well.

    HI Kristen,

Where is your cruise going when it leaves Seattle?

I am glad to hear that you love Celebrity as we have recently booked our first with them. If any of you are wine lovers Celebrity has an amazing wine cruise from Vancouver to San Diego Oct 2008.

I would look into your Jan 2009 birthday cruise but so far we are booked on Princess Jan 2009 for Mary's 50th.

    Have a great weekend everyone,

    cheers,

    Paddy Anne

    Hi There Paddy Anne,

I am the wine lover of the family, Gina likes wine but leaves the choosing mostly up to me. The wine cruise sounds tempting. I may have to check that one out. When is Mary's birthday. Mine is the 4th and I turned 50 this past Jan. Like Chris and her dear other half, there is a bit of an age difference between Gina nd I. I am 50 and she will be 40 next week. It's just the two of us now with our spoiled cocker spaniels. We raised my two kids son (30) and daughter (24) together during our 16 years together.

I have never tried the Princess lines but would like to one day or NCL since I hear so much about it. As for dining we have only ever done the traditonal but would love to try "freestyling" . There is something erlaxing about setting your own schedule instead of rushing back to the ship to get ready for dinner or leaving the pool before we are really ready. We have two Carribean cruises coming up and we plan to be more flexible. We booked a suite so we may order dinner in our room from the dining room a couple of times since the butler will serve it course by course to us on the veranda. With a bottle of our own wine, that sounds like a relaxing dinner.

Looking forward to hearing about everyones cruise adventures.

    Toni

  7. Shan,

Bon Voyage! Safe waters and Fair Winds to you.

I agree with mithryl, although we have never been on an Olivia cruise and are considering it ONLY because we too would like to be on a ship with others of like mind. We are Celebrity faithful and have planned a cruise on the their newest Solstice class of ships, the Solstice in Jan 09. Would LOVE to have others join us. So if anyone out there is interested in joining us in Jan 09 and also help me celebrate my birthday, come on!

We are also considering going to an all inclusive resort somewhere. Gina has never been to Hawaii ( I lived there for two years), so we may look in that direction also.

  8. Hello Ladies,

It sounds like this thread has a great group of ladies. We are Toni and Gina (together for 16 years) from Seattle, WA and compared to so many on here we are have only been on 6 cruises with two more booked at this time. We have never done an Olivia cruise befoe but are considering it.

    Carol and Linda,

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials. We had a ceremony in Key West in 95' in one of the MCC Churches. (The date we consider our Anniversary) but have also had a civil union in Vermont several years ago. It's too bad we have to go to another country in order to gt married and too bad when we come home it won't be recognized. Glad for you two and the support you have from friends and family. Yes, Please send us pictures!

We cancelled out Maniacs cruise because we were able to talk my parents into a cruise to Alaska and decided to take advantqage of living so close by. We drove to Vancouver and boarded the Inifinity for an Inside passage cruise on August 19th.

I have attached a picture of us from one of our formal nights. As you can see we both dress in formals.

Looking forward to getting to know you all. (the southern in me).

  9. Hi All

We are doing an Olivia cruise in January and the tux will come along, this time paired with traditional tie and cummerbund. Wearing that tux makes me look forward to formal nights. It's really, really cool.

I think if you just strut your stuff with confidence I bet you'll have a great time, make any number of new friends, and maybe even enjoy dressing up  .

Mithryl - We're looking forward to meeting you guys aboard the Mercury. Too bad you outgrew your tux, lol.

    Carol and Linda.

    Hi Carol and Linda,

Remember us? Toni and Gina from Seattle. We were once booked on the Synd to NZ cruise. We cancelled that cruise like you guys did and transfered our sailing to the Inifnity Inside Passage two weeks ago. Just got back last weekend and had a great time. Just checking in to find out how you two are.

    Toni
