Pretty unlikely by April 15. Bermuda does not move that fast. They are slow movers. I believe they are committed to the travel authorizations until 2023. Their next change would probably be eliminatig the tests but still requiring proof of vaccination. That would still require the application. Their government seems pretty proud of the Travel Authorization and collecting the fees.

True.  The timing of the testing is stressing me out, but doable.  We cruised last month and we got tested by NCL at the porr and it went pretty smoothly.

  2. On the havenless Dawn we have stayed in almost every suite category, we had a great butler and concierge when we were in one of the DOS.  It may have been due to a great concierge, Hanno and a great butler, Dominic.

I have been in the haven twice on the Gem, 1st time in the DOS, which I never wanted to leave and the 2nd time in a H4, I think the service was the same.  I think I am a very "relaxed" cruiser.  We don't ask for much, just don't bring me yucky hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon, I prefer BLT quarters.

  3. Everyone tips different as you can see.  I usually tip my steward $50-75, depending on service and personality.  On the Gem we had a Haven Valet, I tipped him $50.  Concierge $75-100, same with Butler, and how often I have utilized them.

    Have a great cruise.

  4. Ok recent Gemsters, we were on the Gem last April and the bartender "G" in the Mojito Bar was probably the best bartender we have ever been served by.  Does anyone know if he is still onboard? We are cruising the Gem May 3rd and I haven't had a good mojito since last April!!

  5. How does this read to you guys:

Cruises taken as a minor will be credited to the guest on their first cruise taken after they turn 18 years of age

I was just told by NCL that my daughter does not any points for prior cruises as a minor. She starts earning at 18. Am I just reading this wrong? Anyone have any experience with minor going after 18? Did they get prior cruise points?

It is what is if she doesn't but what it says above on the NCL site is misleading and also what I have been told in the past from prior agents.

    Thanks

My daughters points accumulated and she was gold when she turned 18.

  6. There is no difference but one is port side and one is starboard side so depends where you sailing if you have a preference of sides. For example when we sailed out of New York we were port side so didn't see the statue of liberty from our balcony but I guess starboard side got a great view.
Thanks!! We were starboard on the Gem in April and got a great view of the Statue of Liberty. This cruise will be from Boston to Bermuda.

  7. This was my 2nd diversion. My 1st was in Oct 2014. We wound up in Nassau and Great Stirrup Caye. I heard more complaining on that cruise than this one. I found out the night before. I tossed 3 sweatshirts in my suitcase and off we went. I totally enjoyed the cruise, met lots of nice people. Actually met a couple who are booking the Gem with us next May.

  8. Your going to go and like it LOL

Does Fl and Bahamas suck? Yea maybe a little. But it is what it is, you can either change your attitude and try to make the most of a bad situation and have a good time or make yourself miserable for a week. I choose to not worry about things which I have no control over, don't sweat the small things. This is a truly a first world problem. If you want to talk about things which are truly very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous......come talk to me about my son who is serving in the peace corp or my nephew who is in the Marines in Afghanistan

    Yes!!

  9. People say they will cancel but unless they have an outside insurance policy with a cancel for any reason clause when they call NCL (NCL insurance does not have that option) and find out they would lose 100% of their fare they will get on the ship.
There have been a few with the cancel for any reason insurance. I will ask when I get there. Probably no, but stranger things have happened!!
