I often do mock bookings to check cabin availability, but I never go so far as to actually select a room and proceed to the screen where they want all my contact info. I can't imagine that it "locks" a room before you've even selected it from the list of 15 or so down the right-hand side of the screen.

Just got an email from the upgrade fairy for the 4/15 Getaway, went from an MA Minisuite to H6 Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse. The bid was in the low good range and we are very excited!

Dex ... LOL, have a nice cup of coffee, speed reading my post. Extended family didn't even know they "won" till I text them. Yeah, it is a VERY nice category, they probably bid a little more than what I would with this Calculus game - got nice perks as a whole, OBC and 2X points from original booking I made for them. They take lots of pictures so I will share & see if they remember to keep the Dailies, etc. Wanted us to join when they booked, we couldn't commit then & got ourselves another deal with CAS friends together ... Will be on the Gem instead (boring itinerary, but DW overdue for a break ...)

 

Don't believe anyone on Gem sailing's Roll Call, or even the week ahead of us - heard about their bids yet. Not expecting to know for another week to 10 days ... the waiting game continued. NYC's gaming strategy on this, appeared, IMHO, shifted lately.

 

Nice to hear you are going Bermuda on the Escape, we might do a last minute this Fall.

I am on the Gem April 28 in a balcony that I got through a casino certificate. Nice to see there is a chance of a haven upgrade. Pretty slim chance though, most of the Haven suites are sold out. I did also bid on SE and SF and there are a few of them left.

Ok so we made our decision. We chose the DOS. It was the same exact price but as said above we’ll get the three bottles plus water and mixers and the seating. We have a six year old and I was nervous having the balcony with him. I’m sure he would have been fine but my Mom paranoia kicked in!lol

We left a bag at the Boston cruise port a few years ago! We were in too much of a rush to get transportation and forgot to count all our bags.

 

Luckily we were still in Boston and I was able to go back to the cruise port to pick it up.

Meals are definately an afterthought on a music cruise. We breakfast in OSheehans a couple of times. We did use our Cagneys platinum coupon, but never used the one for LaCuccina. We never ate in the main dining rooms. We did eat in The Great Outdoors a few times.

We were on the Pearl in January for the outlaw country charter. We didnt have any issues. Great food. Our room steward was great. There were 3 of us in a balcony cabin on deck 9. No issues at all.

If you’re willing to listen to some new to you bands, check out The Rock Boat. I know a lot of folks from Best Cruise Ever that have been on Rock Boat ever since.

I have been on 2 Outlaw Country cruises. I had only heard if one if the bands pre cruise. The cruise introduced us to so many different bands and silo acts that I now follow.

I took one Sixthman cruise a several years ago -- it was the VH-1 Best Cruise Ever II...

 

I was so looking forward to the third, but they just never followed though. Absolutely every other cruise they put together just falls short, in the opinion of my musical tastes...

 

Train, Lifehouse, Mat Kearney, The Script, Safetysuit, Colbie Caillat, Ryan Star, One EskimO, etc... Some solid groups, some one hit wonders, and others filling in the blanks.

 

Oh well !!

I was just on the Pearl On the Country Cruise in January and it was a sold out full charter. I think next years will sell out too.

Yes, 12500 was 2 bed rooms. the 2nd bedroom was pretty small, the master is huge!!

I love the DAWN, probably because I finally know where everything is, LOL!! I am on the Pearl on a music charter in January and the Gem in April so I am expanding my cruising experience a bit. :cool:

Its funny, we were offered the GV on the DAWN as an upsell before the bidding process started. There were only 2 of us so we chose to upsell to a DOS. As it was, I loved being in the DOS. If it wasn't just my husband and I we would have jumped on the chance to be in the GV.

I love your videos!! I booked the Jade Suite a couple of years ago after watching one of your videos!! Thanks for posting!

I believe they still exist on the older ships like Jade, Dawn, Pearl Jewel, Star etc. Not on the Away ships and newer.

 

I was just in the Black Diamond Suite on the Jade and will be in the DOS on the Dawn in a couple of weeks (will find out the name then). Also, was in the Pink Diamond on the Pearl and I believe the other was the Amethyst suite if my memory serves me right.

I have been in the Jade Suite on the DAWN twice, (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom). We were in one of the DOS's in 2016 and it didn't have a name.

The Dawn is sailing out of San Juan and Tampa this winter...I have sailed the Dawn out of NOLA 3 times!!
