  1. I actually really liked this setup when I was on Breeze. Check-in and boarding was so much faster without having to wait in as many lines. For drinks, you just carry your boarding pass until you have access to your room. Your photos are taken as you board and attached to your S&S cards then.

  2. I’m sorry this happened, I can imagine your frustration at feeling assured you would get something that you didn’t.

That said, if you didn’t want a specific type of room, you shouldn’t have booked a guarantee. It is as simple as that. Things happen, people take upsell offers, people cancel.

  3. We had our 2 year old on the Valor last year, and she loved it. The Camp Ocean staff was great and really did a good job helping each kid have a fun time. They gave us a phone and would call us if she cried, and we could use it to call and check in on her and our 4 year old. If they take your kiddo to dinner, they have a list of food allergies and put them on the back of their name tag. They also put a wrist band on your child with their muster station listed, so they can bring them to you in case of emergency.

Make sure you hit the Dr Seuss Parade and reading of Cat In The Hat. My kids really loved it, and spent months pretending they were still in the parade, screaming “Dr Seuss is on the loose” while marching around the house. We also really enjoyed the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast. We registered for it the first day when we checked in at the Camp Ocean table on the lido deck.

I was nervous about nap time, but she slept every day during the time that camp is closed and then demanded to go back as soon as they reopened. She also loved dancing to all of the music on board and the all you can eat ice cream.

  4. I can’t say whether it would be worth it for you, but for my family it is. The guest services line is a big factor for us (I can almost guarantee at least two cards will be lost [emoji849]), and we prefer to have little or no wait checking in.

  5. Could I ask a bartender for 6 bottles of water and it's included in the package? Does it go against the 15 drink limit per person? Or, since its water, it doesn't matter?

It does not count against your 15 drinks. IMO, pre-ordering a package is a waste of money if you are getting Cheers. You can just grab one at every bar you pass on your way to the room.

  6. What makes you think they would cancel the flight? The plane will be needed for the Houston (you didn't say which airport) to "wherever" flight after yours. Then to another city and another city. (It's interesting to see how the planes just keep going from one city to the next. flightradar 24 is a great site to track planes especially if you have the tail number. They don't always just of back and forth from city to cit). But, back on topic....book the flight and just hope it is not crowded and enjoy the extra space. I once did a MIA-IAH flight on AA and there we only about 6 people on the entire flight. The FA's just said sit where you want hit the call button if you want anything. Best flight i ever had.

I had one of these from IAH to EWR once. It was AMAZING. Well, it was amazing until we had to turn around about an hour in [emoji23]

When it really comes down to it, OP, planes are needed for more than just one run. They won’t likely cancel just because right now, not many seats are booked. Plenty can change with seats between now and when you take off.

  7. I will never not want twice daily service. I’m on vacation, I don’t want to have to worry about making beds in the morning, and I love evening turndown. If it means I have to throw him a little extra at the end of the week for the extra services I’m ok with that. TBH, we usually are always mentally prepared to do that anyway because of the great service we have from our steward.

  8. We took the Valor last February. It is a beautiful ship, the staff was friendly, food was pretty good. We loved the dive in movie, but make sure you pack some sweat pants and a hoodie, because even under the blankets it is chilly out there at night.

If you can snag a reservation, go to the Dr Seuss breakfast. I saw plenty of childless adults there, and it was a cute fun time. We liked the steakhouse, get the cheesecake for dessert!

  9. We just booked Triumph. The way we see it, Triumph (and Breeze, who we are sailing on in April) failed the inspection so it’s going to be in better shape when we sail.

That said, we know that we are sailing just a few months before a badly needed dry dock. We are not expecting it to be perfect.
