Ok, I bit …just went to Carnival. August 2022 Alaska 7 Day Cruise. Lowest price of the MONTH .…   $539pp.

Whatever the great deals you guys are getting, I’m not part of that Group. I just don’t understand.  I’m figuring Carnival still needs cruisers who pay a regular rate, in order to give some the unbelievable deals.

I’m Platinum in March. We’ve been cruising a lot of years & have a few between Carnval & Royal, but whatever magic dust ya need …. we aren’t sprinkled with it … 😒😒

Yes we spend a good amount of time in the casino but you don't have to lose to get these deals. It is based on the amount of time you spend there and the average amount of your bet. We have lost $ on some cruises and hit $15K jackpots on others. Even on losing cruises, we would rather give it to the casino with a chance of winning then to corporate with no chance...lol!

The water onboard actually is a for of distilled as that is how they process it. No need for a bottle.

Not true.  The reason distilled water is recommended for humidifiers, CPAP is because  it contains almost ZERO minerals that cause scale to firm inside the internal elements of those devices.  Using the tap is fine for washing, brushing but those water lines contain billions of microbes 🦠.  Bottled water ir distilled wont.  So you are taking a HUGE risk by sending steam into your nasal cavity & lungs. Where the perfect environment lives to give you one hell of a respiratory illness.  But, what do i know…😷

Been cruising for over 300 days with a CPAP and nothing has "grown" in my lungs. Sorry to have tried to be of help. Enjoy your cruise!

Things are different now. But I have always carried my c-pap and brought my own extension cord.

I never informed any one, I never ask for water,  I have been doing this for over 20 years.

I read the post you were referring to and there had to be for to it.

I don't understand this huge thing for distilled water for 7 days.  Not that big of a deal.

  4. We have gotten a few really good deals in the past few weeks and booked some but the best one is New Years 2022 8 day on the Pride for $100 per person for an extended balcony with $1000 casino cash $200 OBC and DOU anywhere! Yes we booked it along with 4 others under the $100 pp offers!

We just booked Carnival Magic sailing Sept 4 and there isn't a single excursion listed. Unless you count FTTF and rides back and forth from the airport to the pier.  We have Nassau, HMC and Bimini so I want to get things scheduled as well.  Especially Bimini since we have never been there.

Any recommendations on what to do in Bimini?  TIA!

We will be sailing with on the 4th with you after numerous cancellations! It's been a long time since I've been to Bimini (working for Windjammer Barefoot Cruises in the 1980's) but, it's a small quiet island. Alice Town is fun to walk around in and bar/restaurant hop even though the Complete Angler is gone. For some beach time, take a ride down to Radio Beach. It's a small beach area but has great water and local eateries to die for (Joe's Conch Shack)! From what I understand, there is also a new Virgin resort with a casino if that's your thing (it is ours)! See you onboard!

  6. There are basically 3 areas (piers) for cruise ships in Cozumel and all on the same side of the island. That said, Puerta Maya is the typical Carnival pier (as they own it) and in the last couple of years they have expanded it to now have 3 berths. The International pier is more of a Royal Caribbean berth for 2 ships. If there is a Carnival overflow, they can and do use the  Punta Langosta pier which is right downtown in the main shopping area. Either way, they are all close and there are no piers or for that much anything else on the other side of the island as it is a protected park.

  7. I get the DOU often but, since my wife wants Cheers, and since everybody over 21 in the cabin has to get it, we get that instead. When you go to check in at the casino on the first night, let them know that you have cheers. They usually send us all kinds of "gifts" instead during the cruise like steakhouse diners, wine at diner and treats in the cabin. I like cheers anyway as it gives me coffee, soda, water, milkshakes and more all over the ship.

Yea I would strongly advise anyone NOT to count on any gift cards working right now that you buy.  They are having MAJOR issues.  Got a couple cards for Uber and the link they sent me would not work.

When I called them they said if the card didn't work I would have to call Uber, I explained that the it wasn't the "gift card wouldn't work" that the link they emailed me to get my gift card number wouldn't work!  Spent 3 phone calls over two days so far trying to get it resolved and the last call they finally advised they are aware of glitch in their system and are working hard to resolve it, but they do not know when it will be resolved.

I asked what do I need to do to get good valid gift cards, will my link work eventually.  They couldn't give me a good answer and basically said I will need to just keep calling back and checking.

I am glad I didn't "buy" my cards and it was points only, so I am not out any cash... unlike that $500 Carnival Gift card someone else up above mentioned.

Again, be very leery right now if you decide to get any gift cards.

Fortunately, I purchased the gift card with a cc so if it's not resolved in a week, I can just call my cc company and get the charge reversed.

  9. I actually purchased a $500 gift card yesterday. Looked today and they were gone. I went to use the card I purchased for my Cheers package today online and realized that the e gift card doesn't have a PIn. I called AARP who told me to call Carnival and gave me a number saying Carnival is aware and will issue another card via email with a PIN. After over an hour on the phone being passed back and forth within Carnival since nobody knew of this situation, we got AARP Rewards on the line in a 3 way conversation. AARP has now stated that they know about the problem but haven't solved it yet and that it is their fault and will get back to me in a few day. hopefully with a solution..lol! Good thing I don't need that $500 for a cruise tomorrow. Lots of bugs being worked out I guess.
