It seems every cruise I've been on, someone fails to get their immigration/customs clearance before disembarkation which ends up delaying everyone.

I have to ask--where did you see the Lipizzan mares and foals? We are horse and dressage enthusiasts and want to see the Spanish Riding School while we are in Vienna, but would love to see mares and babies if possible.

Thank you! Didn't know if we could get to the porters with the staggered check-in. :)

Is there someplace to hold luggage at the port while we browse around NOLA in the morning? We don't check in until 12:30 and don't want to drag the suitcases around before that.

You're not the only one. We ended up with Comfort Suites at 169. But, we'll be spending a few extra days afterwards and had much better rates for then. A friend recommended the Prince Conti in the FQ, so we're trying it out. :)
Guess I waited too long to book a hotel. I need a room for one night, prior to my cruise, 4/30 - 5/1, which puts me at the end of Jazz Fest. I need to find a place that I can reasonably get to from the airport and then to the port. Would love to easily get to the French Quarter to look around, and don't want to drop a ton of $$. Any suggestions on decent places with decent public transportation? Thanks
should we book excursions before we get to ports in Alaska or wait until we are there

Depends on what type of excursion you want. We've always had god luck walking off the pier and buying onsite. We've gone kayaking, and had a very discounted flight over the glaciers (fixed wing, not copter). You can probably get the White Pass rail trips online for a better price than the excursion. However, if you want a special excursion, like snowshoeing or dogsledding, you probably want to book earlier rather than later.
