The lines have been absolutely insane! Sapphire and platinum here in one room, and platinum in another room, all of us were told there was no such thing as priority seating on the Prima. However cruisenext says yes, there is! They never put us on a wait list, or gave us a pager , they told us to wait in this huge line to get into the Hudson for lunch today. We left but also could not find a seat in the food hall or the buffet, we ended up in the overflow at food Republic.

Just off the Prima. Here's a tip. Lunch in Indulge food hall is from 12-2 every day but you can go in at 11:40 or so, grab a table, and order at 11:50. Food starts coming out right away. Have a great cruise!

What is the deal with these late departures. The recent Escape TA was basically a ghost ship coming from Cape Canaveral and that too was late coming in like around 11am. They said that they were late because they wanted to reprovision in Florida but my theory is that they are trying to save on not providing the first lunch LOL to half of the passengers.

I was just on the Prima going to NY. We went 20 knots all day until the middle of the night and then slowed to a crawl for the rest of the trip into NYC Harbor. I don't think that was for whales.

The $29/pp/day is to only upgrade the beverage package. If you go for the FAS+, that's $49/pp/day, but includes the upgraded beverage package, Starbucks, unlimited Wifi, and a $50 excursion credit for guest #2.

Upgrading the beverage package for $29/pp/day includes Starbucks and water.

  4. Have an upcoming cruise out of Miami on Prima and am fortunate to be in Haven. I'm wondering how the Haven check-in is, particularly baggage drop off.

I know the Miami porters are aggressive about grabbing bags. Since I don't have a color printer, I'd like to have NCL put on my luggage tags. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

  5. Likely a result of the wind. If sailing into the wind, smoke from the stack is blown aft by real wind and apparent wind from ship speed. If sailing with the wind, smoke from the stack is blown forward by real wind and canceled out by apparent wind from ship forward motion to allow particles to fall on the decks.

  6. On upcoming cruise, my wife and I have FAS. My wife would like to upgrade to the unlimited internet but I don't need that. On the NCL site it only allows for us to both upgrade. Is there a way to just upgrade her? Thanks

  7. More importantly, when we were in specialty venues and wanted 1 glass of nice wine each, they brought a whole bottle and left it nearby for refills. With any wine on the ship. Sometimes took a little while for the bottle to arrive though.

Glad to see you're aboard! And at the bar. I'm a little worried for you though as the bar behind your drink seems a little depleted. I mean that Maker's Mark bottle looks rather lonely! Hopefully they will be restocking today.

If you get a chance could you post a pic of the Haven bar menu? Also confirm that they do have Blanton's in the Haven. Thanks and have a great time.

  9. I also have sailed in MSC Yacht Club and also NCL Haven. There are pros and cons to each.

    MSC YC Pros:

        More staff, more service.

Better lounge with light music at night

        Mini bar stocked and included

Butler included in gratuities, wifi & thermal included.

       Food menus change daily

       Fares generally less

    MSC YC Cons:

Slower service for meals (European thing)

Standard included wines with meals pretty basic, just up from grocery store types

Not much variety in stocked whiskies and liquors

    NCL Haven Pros:

        Better entertainment options on ship

        Fast food service

        better wine and whiskey selection

    NCL Haven Cons:

Mini bar in room not included nor is Butler service to bring a drink to the room. I really don't                    understand why NCL can't put some beer and soft drinks in your Haven suite at the price you're

        paying.

Also I can confirm that prices do drop. But you can't count on that. We were booked on MSC YC Rome to Dubai through Suez last Nov. After the fighting broke out, ports of Egypt and Jordan got canceled. MSC was nice to refund our cruise fare. I found 1 Haven cabin open on Viva, Rome to Lisbon, 10 day.

2 bdr Haven suite for just under 6k. We enjoyed that cruise so much that we are now on 11 day cruise in April on Prima. And yes the fares did drop after the 120 day mark but cabins were then booked fairly quickly and cruise is now sold out in Haven. I do view the Viva fare as an anomaly and don't think I'll ever get that kind of deal again.
