  1. We usually take our insulated mugs on every cruise. I go for our morning coffee while DH showers. I can balance a small Danish atop each cup. Last January we forgot ours mugs. I found it awkward and hot carrying two cups of very hot coffee on the elevator and back to our room. Lesson learned!

  2. We always do a lot of research on cabins before we book a cruise. Last February I called Celebrity to book a cruise for this coming January. I had picked a perfect balcony on deck 6 . The Celebrity rep was VERY helpful. When I told her the cabin I wanted, she advised me that I would be much happier with a hump cabin and an extra large veranda, all the same price! I have never had any real problems with Celebrity or TA's but I do believe we all need to educate ourselves when we make any kind of investment-even a vacation!

  3. We were in 3122 on Constellation last year. The cabins in this section of Deck 3 are all new in the last few years. They used to be conference rooms. They are in a wonderful quiet location with their own private hallway. The windows are much larger than other ocean view windows. We loved it. We have cabin 2014 booked for Panama this November. These rooms are the next best thing to a balcony!

  4. We were on the Constellation 2 years ago and docked at the further dock. We caught a bus just outside the gate. We bought the all day pass which includes the ferry ride to Sommelina. Don't miss this opportunity. The walk around the island is beautiful and the chance to see Helsinki from the water is awesome. Can't believe the negative comments on the market! It was lovely to talk to the locals!

It is easy to walk to the cathedrals after you get off the ferry. We had lunch and took the tram to the Rock Church and then got back on for a scenic tour of the rest of Helsinki before taking a bus back to the port.

We love planning our ports and with a little research you will enjoy Helsinki as much as we did.

  5. We also stayed at the Renaissance. We stayed 2 nights pre cruise and 3 nights post cruises the location is perfect. The restaurant on site is as reasonable as any in the city. We walked everywhere including the cruise terminal. Amsterdam is a fabulous city. We also used the local train to go to Delft for the day and local buses to head out to Volendam and Zaanse Schans. Enjoy your time there and enjoy your cruise.

  6. Last June on the Century to Alaska I was disappointed not to have champagne when we boarded. That cruise however served it at sail away out of Vancouver harbour. I still, prefer it as you board the ship. It was much more difficult to find a glass at sail away as the wait staff had to serve everyone at the same time.

  7. We were in cabin 3122 on Constellation the beginning of February. We loved the room and the privacy of our own corridor. It was our first cruise without a balcony. We found lots of other places to sit and enjoy the sunshine. We are booked in cabin 3114 on Infinity for the Panama Canal in November. We booked it last June. 3112 was available but we were concerned about being next to the washroom. Sounds like our fears were groundless so hope we get to try that cabin someday.

  8. We were on deck 3 on the Constellation and enjoyed being near the Grand Foyer. We used the stairs to go to dinner and shows. I tend to be a little sea sick. Therefore the lower decks are better. We have always chosen deck 6 or below.

  9. We just completed a five day cruise on Constellation. For the first time ever my husband did not take a jacket for dinner. He wore a dress shirt, tie and dress pants. Saw many others dressed similarly. We were prepared to eat elsewhere on formal night if there was an issue. Enjoy your cruise.
