  1. My wife and I are heading to Alaska on the Infinity in 2 weeks. Just wondering about whether we can take a power bar or a plug in receptacle extension (I have one that has 3 outlets on it). I saw on the celebrity website that electrical extension chords are not permitted. Does this include power bars or plug in extensions? Are they really picky about taking these items on board? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Just wondering which of these ports is better for whale watching tours. I am thinking perhaps Juneau, (Harv and Marv tour looks interesting) but their seems to be less interesting tours to do out of Icy Strait Point. Could anyone recommend a good tour to do out of Icy Strait Point (sightseeing style tours preferred not zip lining style activities). Any assistance would be appreciated. We are going on the Infinity in early August. Thanks!

  3. Hi everyone!

My wife and I are taking a cruise on the Infinity to Alaska in August. Just wondering if anyone knows what perks are currently being offered if we decide to book a future cruise with Celebrity while onboard. Looking perhaps at a European cruise (Baltic or Mediterranean) for Summer 2017.

I am assuming that the perks offered depend on the length of the cruise? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  4. Hi everyone!

My wife and I are going on the Infinity to Alaska in August. We were just wondering what the room service is like on that ship. We are Concierge class and I now see that the CC room service menu has changed from our previous CC cruise. 3 years ago on Summit based on Celebrity website.. Does anyone have a picture of the most recent CC breakfast menu? We loved starting our day with a nice hot breakfast arriving at our cabin each morning. Any thoughts about breakfast room service on Infinity? Looking forward to seeing Alaska!

  5. Just checked the Celebrity website as well. Upgraded room service menu is listed on the Aqua class section but not on the Concierge Class section. There are some new items listed for Concierge Class (embarkation day lunch , for example). Hope this is an oversight. My wife and I really enjoyed having a nice hot breakfast each morning via room service on our last Celebrity cruise in Concierge Class. Hopefully write in ideas on the menu are allowed!

  6. Hello everyone,

My wife and I are cruising on the Infinity this summer and we would like to know how long it generally takes to disembark the ship and be able to get to the airport for a flight home. I believe that the ship comes into Vancouver at around 7:00 am.

We have not booked the flight yet so we are wondering what time to consider would be the best time to book for our return home. I know that there are many flights during the day back to Calgary (usually at least one per hour) but we are just wondering what time would likely be best to consider so we are not too early or too late getting to the airport.

I was thinking a flight leaving around noon would likely work but we don't know how long it takes to get off of the ship in the morning. We are also thinking about taking the Skytrain back to YVR as it seems fairly convenient from the Cruise pier.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing Alaska for the first time this summer!

    Thanks!!

  7. Hi everyone!

Just wondering about a few things regarding the Infinity.

My wife and I are considering a cruise out of Vancouver on the Infinity. We have cruised with Celebrity before (Summit Dec. 2013) and really enjoyed it! I have noticed on the Celebrity website that they are offering a Perk Package that allows 2 perks to be picked at no extra cost.

Just wondering which ones would be the best to consider. We did get the classic drink package on the Summit (no charge) and I think that would be a no-brainer but which other perk would be the better deal? I am thinking the OBC but I am just wondering what others might think would be the better option.

Also, does Infinity have the same room service menu as other Celebrity ships? I am thinking of doing Concierge class again like we did before as we really enjoyed getting our breakfast delivered to the room each morning and having an expanded menu (great way to start the day!!).

Also, thinking about going on this cruise in early August. Any pros or cons vs going in July? (these 2 months are our only options due to work constraints). It appears that layering of clothes might be appropriate for these Alaskan cruises? I am understanding as well that cruising the inside passage up and back to Vancouver means fewer issues with choppy seas?

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Doug

  8. Thanks, I do realize that it is a crap shoot any time any time you head out on the high seas (having lived near the Great Lakes for most of my life) and we are really looking forward to this cruise, especially to see Barbados, St Lucia, and Antigua for the first time, and to revisit Sint Maarten and St Thomas!

Hoping for an exciting time on the Summit. Sounds like NYE will be a fun time to sail!!!

  9. Hi everyone,

Just wondering what the sea conditions are usually like in the Southern Caribbean at this time of year. My wife and I are going on the Summit for the New Years cruise (first time with Celebrity) and we're wondering what it is generally like. A few years ago we went with Princess out of FLL and it was a bit choppy, especially leaving Florida. Hoping for a bit kinder seas this time and better weather than we had before (it was overcast most days and not very "Caribbean like") lol. For anyone who has been cruising there recently, any insight would be great! Thanks!!
