  1. We are also traveling this summer with 2 teens (15 and 18) under the HIA promo for guests 1 and 2. From what I researched on the HAL site, we were required to purchase a beverage package for guests 3 and 4 since guests 1 and 2 had one with the HIA promo. More knowledgeable people on this site will be able to confirm this for you.

Please research what you feel you will spend. I ended up purchasing the HIA promo for guests 3 and 4. I  found there was little difference in cost after I added the cost of 2 meals in specialty restaurants, $200 shore excursion credit and the cost of a beverage package. The HIA promo also gives our 2 teens an Internet package. I also prepaid the daily gratuities for guests 3 and 4 so remember you can do so.

When booking private tours do remember that all passengers will be required to go through a face to face meeting with UK Border Force Agents before the disembarkation is permitted at your First entry port.  Looking at your itinerary this will take place at Portree (Isle of Sky).  If this (tender) port is cancelled because of weather/tide conditions then the F2F will take place at the next port.  Do allow time for this when making plans.   This can be very slow and take several hours.

More excellent information. Hopefully, it will occur in Portree or Kirkwall, the following port. We’ve scheduled HAL shore excursions for both.

You will be fine 🙂   that’s easy.

Even in non tender ports things die down a bit.  We came to the ship at midnight after our Fado show and there was no crew there to welcome you with  cold drinks, hot towels, etc (not that we needed them).  port authorities let us through (and yes, it was one time we needed that other piece of ID) and we boarded the ship.

Now I am just waiting for Hank to come on and say all Hal passengers are in be by 9 😂

Oh, thank you so much for the reminder to bring ID. I’d not thought of that.

  4. Thank you for your suggestion. As I explained in an earlier post, I am unable to cancel the existing reservation on the website which was charged to my credit card. Otherwise, I would use the Navigator app to make reservations for each of the 3 booking numbers, applying dining credits. My fantastic TA said she is calling HAL tomorrow on my behalf.

  5. We are slightly 130 days away for our cruise. Pinnacle Grill reservations opened last Fri. Tamarind and Canelleto do not show yet. Just like PatSp, my credit card was charged for our party of 7. I can’t even delete the existing reservation - that does not work either. I followed all the step-by-step directions given by wonderful people trying to help myself and the OP on the post “Navigator App Help”. No luck!

I have applied dining credits on previous cruises. Nothing is working as before on the website. Apparently, something has changed.

I am so grateful for everyone’s comments and suggestions, including those who commented in the post “Navigator App Help.” I truly appreciate those of you who patiently give advice and try to help as much as possible.

    I just emailed my TA.

  6. OP - I give up! Now when I try to cancel the existing reservation for 7 which was charged to my credit card, it goes to a screen to cancel an amount of $54.28 on a reserved shore excursion. If I click continue, it lists the shore excursion name, instead of Pinnacle Grill dinner on which I clicked. Time to contact someone else.

  7. I am sorry for hijacking OP’s thread! I posted the same question on Cruise Critic the day before OP did, receiving 2 suggestions which did not work. Thank you Henk123 and POA1 for your step by step suggestions. I see exactly what OP sees. I tried making a reservation only for my booking of 4. No option to apply dining credits.

I tried a different browser - same thing. Is it because I am trying to do this on an iPad?

Next - I’m going to make individual reservations per POA1’s suggestion, but on the Navigator app where it gives me the option to apply dining credits. Then I will have my TA contact HAL to combine the reservations into one table of 7 per Henk123’s suggestion.

OP - I will let you know if this works.

Chhose a restaurant. Click on the Book button. Choose the date and time. If you have a credit, you can use it for the reservation.

Using credits, you can only reserve for the people on your booking. If you are traveling with other people, they will have to make their own reservations on their own bookings.

I will try this for each of the 3 bookings. Question: do you know how to combine these single reservations when made into one single reservation for our party of 7?

Thank you Henk123 for your detailed instructions. This does not work for me either. I see exactly what the OP sees - 2 dining credits for each member of our extended family on the website. There isn’t any place where it allows you to use your dining credits. Just like OP, your only option to make your dining reservation on the web site is to have your credit card charged. So, BaldiePete, I am having the exact issues too.

You can't do 7 online, anyway.  A party that size has to be booked through Ships Services, so make it a TA problem.  The dining credits can be applied and all's good.

With six or fewer, you can add passengers from another booking, you just need the booking reference and the passenger names to do.

Thank you for this information. A reservation for our family of 7 traveling together is my main priority. With a large group, it is important to secure a reservation as early as possible.

Sounds like a call to my TA. Hopefully she will be able to get HAL to apply our HIA dining credits and I will be refunded the money charged to my credit card. So glad we have one!

Seems I’m not the only one having problems!

  11. I am having the same issues. I made our NS Pinnacle Grill reservations yesterday on the web site for our party of 7.  It never gave me the option to apply HIA dining credits. The full price for our reservations was charged to my credit card.

I posted a question yesterday on Cruise Critic, asking how to apply my HIA credits for the reservation for everyone in our party. The 2 suggestions which I received did not work. I tried searching this forum for answers and only found your post. Please post if you can apply your HIA dining credits if you go through the web site.

  12. I tried making a new Pinnacle Grill reservation, following your suggestion. There was a place to enter a promo code - no pull-down menu. I entered “dining” as it is listed as “dining” under our “available credits”,  only to see the response “invalid code.”

This might be my TA’s problem now unless I can find something which works.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

  14. When dining reservations for our July cruise opened today, I made Pinnacle Grill reservations for our family of 7. All 7 of us have dining credits through the HIA promo. When making the reservation, my only option was to make it under my name. My credit card was charged the full amount for 7 Pinnacle Grill reservations.

Is there anyway I can edit the reservation, applying the Pinnacle Grill dining credit for each of our party of 7? Or, do I need to have my TA do this?

Thank you for your answers in advance.
