Would you mind telling me what is the greatness of the CB or CC please?  Have not sailed in these rooms.  And do they compare favorably to suites?  Thanks!

They are no longer CB or CC.  They have been reclassified at SC and SP.  They do not have a butler and the concierge is not the same as the one for the Haven.  The perks are now priority embark/debark, upgraded bedding, 2 free room service deliveries.  If you are looking for suite that is the same as the smaller ships, this is not one of them.  I know from my numerous inquiries that they are not the same.  We booked a Family Suite,  but upgraded to a Haven HH.  It may have been classified at one time as one of those (CB or CC) but now it is a non-Haven Suite.

  2. There is no longer a butler.  There is a concierge, but he does not do what a Haven concierge does.  He may help with dinner reservations and such.  There is no longer breakfast/lunch in a special restaurant.  It does include upgraded bedding and 2 free deliveries from room service.  There is also priority embark/debark.  We booked a Family Suite and vacation 44 booked (I think) a penthouse suite.  When we booked all the good stuff was listed, but we soon found out after numerous inquiries that the website was never changed.  It took forever to get the correct answers.  We upgraded to a HH.

I see now they call it Rapid NAAT test.  That is the one we received and it was accepted at the terminal.

Thanks.  I thought that was the one.  I researched it for my niece a few weeks back, but the name was different.

  4. The agent I spoke to just read the Sail Safe page.  I told her I just read that also, and it did not answer my question.  I asked her who to speak to and she referred it again to me.  Not helpful.  I think the rapid NAAT test is a rapid PCR and a PCR is acceptable, if I undersand what njhorseman said.

  5. We need it to board the Joy in 3 weeks.  We are driving to port as we live in South Florida.  My husband and I are sure we can get a Rapid Antigen test, but my sister lives in a different county.  So, in your opinion, is this Rapid NAAT test OK to board the ship?

  6. I know this has been discussed here, but I cannot find the thread.  I have a simple question about the types of test offered in our local Walgreens.  What is the difference between a Rapid NAAT Test and a Rapid Antigen test.  I tried to ask an agent but all they do is refer me to the safety page and it does not say anything about it.

Called last night and paid to upgrade our room directly, but curious that we haven't received an updated Upgrade Advantage offer.  Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a new upgrade offer with updated bidding info in this scenario?

We also did an upgrade directly.  The upgrade offers stayed the same.  We are sailing on April 2, 2022

The cost to upgrade to the Haven was lower than the bids on most of the cabins we were bidding to.  We went from a 2 bedroom family SP to a HH for just $820.00 total.

wow, what a tragedy. shame, shame, shame on ncl. just curious, were you planning  on exposing yourself?

ive read about people complaining about pepsi not coke, no straws, the perks program, but come on man! what kind of a bs problem is this, a window in the shower too small.

really dude, lighten up and just enjoy your cruise. or in the alternative, take a bath

    Super funny!!!!

One other item of interest, due to Covid, they did not offer the wine tasting nor the dinner with officers for SAPPHIRE level, BUT instead gave us (1) $50 onboard credit for the cabin which was fine with us!

Hi,, I was just wondering if the dinner with officers was something you asked about or did they give it to for being SAPPHIRE?

Yes, we are in a HI with the chair.  As it is just my husband and I, we are not using the chair as a bed.   However, I just took a better look at it and it does seem low to the ground.  I took a picture of it with my tablet leaning against it so you can kinda see how low to the ground it is.

Thanks.  I hope you are having a wonderful time.  We are sailing on April 2nd.

We are also on the Joy now.   Took Uber from the Intercontinental and it was very quick and painless (first time using Uber with out our young adult children so I was a little concerned about the process as they are always in charge of that).

Hi, I do not want to hi-jack this tread, but I understand you upgraded to a Haven Suite.  I know you had the same questions we had about the "suites".  We upgraded as well to a HI.  Do you have a Haven suite with the 3rd person on a pullout chair?  We were wondering how high that chair is and how tall it will be opened up.  My sister will be sleeping on it and we are requesting an egg crate mattress pad but are concerned it may low to the floor.  We may need two.  Thanks, Susique

  12. I did inquire with 6 NCL agents, then pre-concierge.  I finally got the answer to the perks from VP Customer service.  Even though all the perks were still listed until late November (I even sent a copy and a long letter to corporate) they explained that it was an oversite.  According to them, the perks are as follows:

    1  Priority embark/disembark

    2. Updated bedding

    3. 2 free room service for a 7 day cruise.

    4. Any perks you have from latitudes.

There is no longer a butler.  There is a suite Concierge but you have to find him.  They stopped that breakfast and lunch when they did the restart.

I will say the cabin is perfect for a family. Lots of room.  The virtual window looks cool, but someone said they turn it off at night.  We had one booked, but the prices went down so we upgraded to a Haven suite.

Hi we were just upgraded to an SC penthouse suite.  What did you end up getting with this suite?   Thank you.

We had one booked for January 22 which we cancelled and rebooked for April 2.  Up until around the last of November it listed on the website everything that the Haven had except for haven access.  After numerous inquiries we found out thru the VP office of Guest Relations that there was now longer breakfast at La Cucina and, no butler and such.  They had 2 free room service, suite concierge (he is not the same one for the haven), upgraded bedding and the regular stuff you get with Latitudes.  We just upgraded before final payment to the HI and am going to bid on the HJ.  I was very disappointed in the mis-information and I drove them crazy.

  14. I think that only the Joy has concierge suites, so I guess this thread was for those type of suites.  We have a 2 bedroom family suite.  The other is called a penthouse concierge suite.  I am not sure, but it is quite possible that the “S” suites on the smaller class ships have different amenities.

  15. As per the VP Guest Service, their response was:

“We regret to learn there was an issue with our website, much of what you detail below is correct.  To note, your suite does receive concierge service, priority embarkation and debarkation, upgraded bedding and delivery of food and beverage two times a week.”

Do you still get breakfast and lunch in La Cucina?

We sailed on the Joy to Alaska during her first US season. We got the meals, but to butler (and there fore no treats). The meals and upgraded bathroom amenities were the only perks when we sailed.

I drove NCL crazy with this.  After 6 different answers from NCL agents and a very lengthy letter to corporate, I finally emailed VP of customer service and have the answer I was asking.  You get priority embark/debark and a couple of room service free.  There is no break/lunch in La Cucina.  They did add some OBC for my troubles.  Oh, and a mattress pad for my sister.  You do still have access to pre-concierge

Our situation is probably different than most. We have a 21 night Encore cruise this coming October and we are using around $6,800 of FCC that will expire by the end of the year and if we would end up canceling this cruise we would lose it so we are doing the NCL insurance with CFAR that would give us 90% in a new FCC that would be good for one year from the date we cancel if past final payment and we planned to get insurance anyhow. We hope to make this cruise as we really like the Encore but this is a good safety valve if we need to cancel.

We have the same issue.  Did you verify this someone at NCL?  We cancelled with POM and have rebooked for April.  I have been going back and forth with this issue and could not find anything about this until your post.  Thanks, in advance.

Whether it is what NCL is doing or not, I don't know.  But I went and checked their website last night after reading several folks claiming they had until May 2023 to use the FCC and it still says book and embark by 12/31/22.  It still says the same thing.  See for yourself:  https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/book-with-confidence.  So, several folks have claimed they are getting FCCs with embarkation deadlines of May 2023, and I don't think they're lying, but I also don't know if they have special circumstances they haven't mentioned. Meanwhile, NCL's website says 12/31/22.  There is simply enough confusion out there that no one can say what is generally "true."

It might be that their cruise was not one that was cancelled by NCL after they cancelled. Just a thought

Does anyone know if we used a 25% discount (from original March 2020 cancellation) and a 10% discount (from a January 2021) cancellation on this cruise and we decide to cancel our January 28 cruise do we get those discounts returned to our account or do they disappear? I did go online and cancel all of my upgrade bids, figuring that it would my luck that they would accept and then I would cancel.

I was told NO to the 10% discount.
