Another glorious morning on the Sky Princess. Once again enjoying watching the birds dive into the water looking for their next meal. I’m so glad we are staying on the ship for another week as I’m so not ready to go home.
Received additional information on the timing of our covid test tomorrow and when we will be walked off the ship to go through customs. We are planning to come right back onboard and not go out into FL tomorrow.
After lunch in the MDR spent the day chilling at the pool. It’s been windy and overcast today and the water was a little cold so I just put the feet in and enjoyed a Malibu Sunrise at the edge of the pool.
Farewell dinner in the MDR but luckily we don’t have to say goodbye to table 471 in the Cielo. Show tonight was Mike Mentz who put on another great performance.
Have to get up early tomorrow for the Covid test and hoping our party of 4 are all negative. Fingers crossed for all of us.🤞
Wishing safe travels to everyone joining the ship tomorrow. She is beautiful!
Ciao for now!
Thanks again to KLM and all those who have posted such great pictures as well as answering questions and giving general info. Looking forward to more from those of you staying on board this week, especially since your itinerary this week is the same as our cruise on the Sky (Dec. 11th).
I too love to watch the Boobies soar beside the ship looking for food. I usually see flying fish skimming the surface where they are hunting. I think they are one of their primary food sources.
Thanks again. Pat and Dave

As others have said I think overall the compliance is good on the ship. I’ve only seen one person in an elevator without a mask. I feel like most people are wearing them indoors and when walking around indoors and in the shops. People do take them off when they are drinking in the bars but the tables are spaced out so I’m comfortable with this as well as when eating/drinking in the Piazza area. In the Piazza, people have them off when they are seated but again the tables are spaced out to allow for distance between others. From my perspective the only area when I’ve seen “sip and cover” is in the Princess Theater which we go to every night. I haven’t been in the Vista so don’t know what is happening there or in Princess Live. Finally, most people are not wearing masks on the open decks.
To answer your second question, we live in Placer County near Roseville. We are about 4 hours from Mendocino but we visit there each year in September as we have a standing reservation at the Little River Inn. We love visiting the Mendocino area in September.
Thanks again for all of your great pictures and information. Sorry that I seem to have started a bit of a brush fire with my questions about masks, but I guess it's good to 'discuss the issues'. Love the Little River Inn - great food and even better scenery. Love it up there.

Just leaving St. Thomas and sailing to St. Maarten now. Woke up late this morning to discover we were already docked in St. Thomas. Headed to the International Cafe for my late morning latte then to Alfredo’s for lunch. I was disappointed to learn there was no fresh basil on board so I wasn’t able to get my usual Margherita pizza but what we had was still delicious. I headed off the ship at 2 to do some shopping then connected with DH for our shore excursion in the late afternoon. We took a sunset catamaran sail and had a great time. I really enjoyed the rum punch topped off with champagne. The sunset was beautiful and the excursion was very relaxing. When we got back on the ship we went and saw singer/songwriter Mike Mentz in the Princess Theater. He has a great voice and his performance of “Go The Distance” was out of this world. I hope he has another show later in the week.
Tomorrow we are in St. Maarten and we have an early shore excursion with our friends so it’s time to go.
Ciao for now!
Thank you (as well as other passengers on this thread) so much - for all of your information and answers to questions. So great to finally get back to cruising - but obviously everyone has questions and concerns about the current 'State of the Seas' under Covid. You all have been most helpful at clearing up most of the my questions and concerns. We will not be joining you on your B2B, but are on the Dec. 11th sailing on the Sky (can't wait). So glad I found this thread. If you get a chance, could you give us an idea of where masks are required (is it everywhere inside?) and also, how is compliance? What part of Northern Calif. are you from. I have a brother in Mendocino.
Thanks again, Pat and Dave

Hi Bob,
Thanks for taking time to share all this - it has been great. We are boarding when you get back for the next cruise, so it has been most helpful. How was the weather on the transit from LA to Hawaii? Thanks again.

Hi Bob,
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. We are on the next cruise on the Star (11/19) and enjoying your posts very much.
I didn't know that Princess had switched to digital coffee cards - good to know. We have a couple paper ones with some punches still available, but we substitute new coffee cards and bottled water for our free mini-bar anyway.
This is our first cruise to Hawaii, and have been trying to decide what clothing to pack. If you wouldn't mind including a brief weather report in your posts, that would be fantastic. I know it could be drastically different in 2 weeks anyhow - but it would at least give us a rough idea of what to expect. Thanks again for all your time and efforts - enjoy your cruise;

I would like to add my thanks to all who contributed such great info., pictures and answers to our questions - it is greatly appreciated. We will be boarding a week from today, and can't wait. Long time - no Sea. Didn't hear any mention of Covid onboard - hope it stays that way. Safe travels to all who are disembarking today. Maybe we'll 'Sea' you some day.
