Will be sailing to Antartica on the Scenic Eclipse in 2023. Booking advice states that my primary care physician must complete an online medical form . Form available 90 days prior to sailing and the form must be returned no later than 60 days prior to sailing. Booking advice further states “please arrange for a long consultation with your doctor to complete the online form.”.
Can anyone tell me what Scenic is requesting/how extensive the form is? My spouse and I are seasoned travelers and have traveled to many remote areas. We have never had to have a physician sign a form for us.
Thank you in advance.

Two questions for the Holland America experts:
If I purchase The Have It All package and I change my mind, can I remove it and get a refund?
If I keep the package and purchase a drink over $11 on the ship, do I pay the difference (plus gratuity) or do I pay for the entire price of the drink?
Many thanks in advance.

I truly hope everything works out for you.
We booked with Scenic due to the wonderful reviews, and are looking forward to the trip. But the US based support has been very disappointing. Given different answers by different representatives to the same question. Plus had to check a box when registering that we understand that Scenic will NOT provide airport transfers as we did not book flights with Scenic. Will probably be on the same flight as other Scenic passengers going to the same hotel, but we are on our own. We did another high end cruise line to the the Galapagos recently and even though we booked our own flights, a cruise line representative met at the airport and provided transportation to the hotel. Same for an African safari. That is the level of service we thought we had booked.
Scenic claims to be a 6 star experience but they need to back it up with their actions.

Thank you for your response/link to river cruise thread. Glad to know I am not alone. 🤞that issues regarding river cruises that are departing soon are quickly resolved and all enjoy their cruises.

I am not sure if anyone else is having problems with Scenic USA, but I am. Booked Antartica 1/2023 cruise in October 2021. Made initial deposit in October 2021; second (final payment pending internal flight charges) in January 2022. Received confirmation from Scenic that both payments had been made.
Received email yesterday that January 2022 payment (three months ago?) had not been made. Called; Scenic having technical problems and not taking phone calls. Instructed to email - and did- but received response that it could take up to two weeks to respond.
Understand they have had computer and covid issues, but not feeling good about situation.
Does anyone have a better idea what is going on? Not feeling warm and comfy.

Have read the wonderful blog by DrKoob and his wife detailing their Celebrity Flora cruise. Would appreciate it if anyone who has sailed recently on the Xpedition could provide details on their experience. Interested in life on board and if the Xpedition is back to stays in Quito before/after cruising.
Many Thanks,

I am interested in the flash sale beginning this Friday. Does anyone know if the OBC can be used for the daily gratuity fee?

Looking into the Celebrity Solstice transpacific cruise (Tokyo to Vancouver) in April 2022. A question for anyone who has done a similar route: does port or starboard receive more sun?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Veendam cruise has been fine. Nice weather in Grand Turk, San Juan, and St Thomas. Seas have been smooth until last night/today - but that is not Holland America’s fault.
Ship is lovely; staff are very upbeat and attentive. Coronavirus was an issue before we boarded but much more concerning to us now. Dining room first seating is close to half empty. Lectures are not well attended, but the evening show we attended had a nice crowd. We ourselves are spending a great deal of time in our room/balcony.
No reports of illness on board that we have heard of.

I do not know - sorry.

We are currently on the Veendam. No problems with getting off the ship in ports. We were allowed to disembark at Grand Turk on 3/6; San Juan on 3/7; and just cleared to disembark today (3/8) at St Thomas.

I will be sailing in next month on the Veendam. We like to purchase the laundry package on Holland America as in the past they have done a wonderful job. I usually write “cold water, delicate cycle” on the laundry slip. I honestly do not know if they follow my request but have been very happy with laundry upon its return.
My question is: is laundry washed as requested or are all clothes washed in hot water? Has anyone noticed a change in their laundry now that coronavirus has appeared? Trying to determine if it is worth it to purchase the laundry package or if I am better off packing additional clothes/luggage.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for everyone’s help. We plan to first phone Celebrity - with the other couple also in the conversation - as a first try. If that does not work, we are cruising with Celebrity in a few weeks - will speak with the future cruise consultant on board.

Thank you - appreciate the input.

We have an upcoming Galapagos cruise on Celebrity. Well before final payment; cruise is sold out. Family members originally planned to travel on the same cruise in a separate cabin, but plan to cancel (have not yet cancelled). We have friends who would like to travel on the cruise and have the reservation transferred to them. Is it possible to transfer a reservation to another party.
Thank you in advance.

Will be sailing on the Prisendam on March 25. Does anyone know if water bottles (versus a cooler with cups) are available in the fitness center? Would like to know as I will bring my own refillable bottle if bottles not available.

My husband and I will be on the Quest for the Athens - Dubai cruise in October 2018. Are there any spin or boot camp type classes offered in the fitness center? If so, what is the cost of each class?
Thank you,
Cathleen

Phil - thand you for your input. I will admit that I am a little disappointed in the ship's arrvival time into port and having so little time the first night in Petra. Definately planning on going to Petra - it looks amazing! - but still on the fence as to what tour (overnight or one day) to take.
-
My husband and I will be on the Azamara Quest Athens to Dubai cruise departing 10/13/18. On day 7 (October 19) we have the option to take an overnight tour to Petra, Jordan. Rosemary from the shore excursions department wrote me that the expected arrival time in Petra is 7:30 pm, with a tour of Petra the next day (tour time tbd).
My questions are: will there be anything to do/see in Petra on the arrival night? It seems that by the time we get settled into our hotel and have dinner, it will be time for bed. Have also read on trip advisor that Petra by Night is only on Mon/Tues/Thurs. October 19 is a Friday.
Does anyone who has taken this tour before know what time the tour will depart for Petra on October 20? Will it leave early before most people arrive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to determine if this overnight excursion is worth the extra money or if we should just do a one day tour (not an overnight) from the ship.
Thanks in advance,
Cathleen
