  1. Here’s another.

We were on the Connie visiting Hong Kong and queued for an hour to get up to the peak.

Everyone was busy taking photos of the amazing views and I was standing next to 2 couples trying to take a selfie.

I offered to take the photo for them and they recognised my London accent, as they too were Londoners.

We got chatting as you do, and I had grown up in the same area as they lived now. One of the women turned to me and said, is your mom Jean... ? Yes! I replied.

it turned out she had cut my mom’s hair for years and had seen photos of me as shown to her by mom 😂😂

Now that’s a really small world.

  2. We met a great couple on an Azamara Caribbean cruise a couple of years ago.

We are from London Uk and they are from Wolverhampton in the North of England.

We stayed in touch and invited them to stay for a weekend at my DH’s brother’s weekend cottage in the Cotswolds.

They arrived and were blown away by the beautiful views of rolling hills and countryside.

She took photos on her phone and posted on Facebook, not saying where she was.

Someone posted, ‘where are you’ in the comments. She said with friends in a tiny

    cotswold village.

    He replied, see you tomorrow.........

Turns out my BIL’s Cotswold neighbour (also weekend home) had played rugby with our new friend for 40 years. What a hoot when they turned up the next day.

We still can’t get over the coincidence.

    What a small world indeed.

  3. Hi, we are excited to have booked our first Azamara Cruise, only cruised Celebrity before now and have enjoyed reading the newbie stickees.

We have booked a Guarantee stateroom on the Journey 1st March next year.

Do you know when we might be assigned our cabin? It’s still not showing.

We have booked guarantees before on Celebrity and it’s usually after a couple of weeks.

    Thank you.

  4. Honestly. Again. (and again). I purchased the bracelet on Solstice in April. It broke AFTER I was off the ship, in a casino, a couple of months later.

Why can't some of you understand that?

:'):') Mafig, I’d give up if I were you. Some people just can’t be bothered to read and understand the whole story.

Glad you got it resolved and as you say, a lesson learned for us all.

    Seasons Greetings :)

  5. I haven't been able to find anything that contains Meclizine in the UK for the last few years. It used to be available as Traveleeze. I always stock up on Bonine when we are in the US now as it seems to work best for me.

    Julie

You are quite right. We can no longer buy anything with Meclizine in the U.K. Traveleeze was always my favourite brand. You can't buy Sealegs anymore either.

I do the same and stock up when I'm in the US.

Word of advice, don't drink alcohol when taking Bonine. I almost fell asleep one evening at the dinner table! :')💤

  6. I see you are from the UK and guessing you booked here too. I'm not sure if you'll be able to swap your cabin within category unless things have changed here since I last tried. They had clamped down on switching cabins in the UK if you'd booked a GTY. Good luck if you can though.

Really!? Oh well, I can only give it a try once I've done a bit of research.

If not, earplugs it is [emoji3]

  7. Hi, we have been assigned our guarantee inside cabin on deck 9, Cat 9, Constellation, which I was happy about (better I think than deck 2) but can see we are under the gym.Where is the best position for a Cat 9 if I can change it?

This is our first time in an inside, so a little concerned but seeing as we didn't think we could cruise at all for a while (renovating our house!) it was a matter of cruising inside or no cruise. (Balcony is over £1000 pp more!)

    Thanks in advance :)

  8. We have driven the Dolphin Expressway via Sixt's express toll service (which I think is Toll By Plate mass contract because they don't use a transponder).

Sixt has a great blog about it, was usefull to us before we started renting cars in FL (3 times, 4th coming up); http://www.sixtblog.com/travel-advice/florida-toll-roads/

Not spamming Sixt but I really like their carefree system, would recommend!

I am so pleased I read this today!

We have booked a car on-line with Sixt as we are driving from Miami to Boca Raton after our cruise in November and then back to Miami airport 3 days later.

It hadn't even occurred to us that toll roads would be a problem.

So I'm assuming we should pay the $7.99 a day Toll Service that Sixt offer when we pick up our car.

Which lane do we then use on the toll roads? And will the $7.99 per day be our only charge?

  9. Don't worry too much. I don't think you will be disappointed.

We book a 2C out of choice, the obstruction is a little better than a 2D and we certainly have never been upset with our balcony.

You are midship, always a good position and other than being unable to look down at the water, you will still have a wonderful view.

    Go and enjoy!! :)

  10. Hi, I think if you book your cruise with the 4 perks, you could use your OBC to spend on speciality restaurants if you wanted to, then you really shouldn't have to pay for anything else.

We love Celebrity and always try to book with a free drinks package nowadays.

We spend very little extra onboard.

    Enjoy :)

  11. Was the smoke from deck 5 a problem! We have cabin 6157 booked on the Equinox and we're trying to decide if we should switch to a cabin on the starboard side.

It wasn't a problem on the Reflection. I think they smoked down the other end of the ship.

We've booked 6243, also on the hump, on the Eclipse for our November cruise and I'm wondering if we made a mistake with the smokers there.

  12. There are different codes for the drinks, gratuities and OBC perks (and combination of perks) depending on the part of the world that you are sailing. Europe is just coded as "Europe". ROW is Celebrity's abbreviation for: "Rest of the World excluding Galapagos, Transatlantic, Transpacific, Asia re-positioning, and South America re-positioning cruise departing on 13 Mar 2016". So "ROW Drinks" indicates a classic drinks package on a cruise which is not within Europe or the particular exclusions mentioned above. Hope this puts your mind at rest!:)

The entire list of abbreviations is on a UK travel agent's website, but it would be against the rules for me to give the name on CC.

    That absolutely explains it.

    Thank you so much. :)

  13. Hi, we've just changed our November booking on the Eclipse across from a US TA to an English one as we were worried about the sudden drop in the dollar for us Brits.

We had the Classic Drinks Package included and have managed to get everything the same again, cabin, drinks, grats at more or less the same price we originally paid.

However, on our new booking, it says ROW Drinks with no charge next to it.

Anyone know what that means? I'm hoping that is the Classic Package as before.

Btw, Celebrity UK were so helpful in reserving our original cabin for us and then letting us transfer the booking to our new TA.

I only have high praise for them 👍
