  1. What exact dates do you need a hotel? Hotel budget? Number of people? Will you have a car (need a Park/sleep/cruise?) or are you flying into Newark Airport?

Was just reading some of your replies on another topic. thank you for taking the time to try to answer my questions. I know specifics help you help me. There will be two of us. We haven’t picked a cruise yet. Still contemplating Florida or Cape Liberty. Southwest air not out for August so were just trying to see if a Yankees game was feasible if staying in NJ with public transportation. Hotel budget is 2-300 whatever makes the most sense to see a game and cruise!

  2. You can stay pretty much anywhere in Manhattan and be within a reasonably easy subway ride of Yankee Stadium, and I would for sure take the subway.

If your cruise leaves from Cape Liberty, you could stay in Jersey City and it's still not hard, although it takes a little longer. Just change between the B/D subway and PATH at 33rd/34th St (they're different parts of the same station).

If you're taking the B/D to a weeknight game, just be aware of their evening peak schedules -- it's all explained here.

Hi! Want to do see the Yankees this summer and cruise with Celebrity out of Port Liberty. Can you give more specific hotels (in NJ) and directions to the stadium? Any help is appreciated!

  3. We have the same issue so we order $400 at a time. BTW, if you order $400 it doesn't trigger the max, so I always order $400 and then go right back in and order $400 more, so I get $800 and don't have to sign for them.

  4. Anyone can join AARP. Although my husband is definitely "near." It's just a mature adult advocacy and awareness organization. Both my husband and I are members and love the discounts. My friends laugh at me when I pull out my AARP card but I have the last laugh. Lol[emoji14]

  5. Wow ! I am not quite "old" enough for AARP but my mom has it and I was trying to use her account. No wonder so many people have AARP!

No problem. It can get a little confusing because their AARP homepage and Rewards for Good homepage are two separate sites, but you can access one from the other. If you're logged into aarp.org, you can earn points by clicking on Rewards for Good in the red header bar at the top of the page and then click Start Earning Points. That's where you can take a bunch of their quizzes for points. I'm not positive, but I think the amount of points you earn is based on how you do on the quiz. I've gotten 400 pts. from a quiz for getting all of them right (or all but one), but then yesterday I only got one question right on one of them and it didn't give me any points at all.

Another little tip: when you're on the aarp.org homepage, on the left side of the red header bar, click the Menu button. It'll open a sidebar. Click the drop down arrow next to your name, then click Newsletters. Here you can sign up to receive their email newsletters. This is where a junk email address comes in handy. The ones that give you points will be marked "Rewards for Good." You can always go back and uncheck them later, but it'll give you a lot of points just for signing up to receive them. I think I got 2,050 pts. Some of those newsletters contain promo codes to earn more points. You enter those at the top of rewards.aarp.org. Some of those newsletters contained online magazines that gave points for reading. I would just quickly click through to the end and it'd give me the points. Not always, though. You also get 50 pts. for logging in every day. If you have a FitBit, you can sync it to the AARP account and earn points for reaching milestones.

  6. Go to http://rewards.aarp.org and log in (or register if you haven't already). Once logged in, you can either hover your cursor over the "Travel" tab, then click "Travel Gift Cards" from the menu or hover over the "Gift Cards" tab, then click "Travel" from the menu. On that page, choose Carnival from the left sidebar. If you don't see Carnival, they're not available. And for that matter, sometimes it appears but they'll be sold out.

If you happen to be logged in from http://www.aarp.org, just click on "Redeem My Points" to get to the Rewards for Good site.

    Thank you!

  7. If you notice, John has remained largely silent on this. My prediction is that this decision will be magically reversed when spring breaks are over (next week). Then they can say they listened and reversed the decision! Not so good for all of us who had no idea and booked last year for this time.

Hadn't thought of that I bet you will be correct.

I called PVP and complained loudly and have never complained in all our cruises.

  8. With this change I think there are now only three adult swimming pools in the entire Carnival fleet. I'm glad that I'm going on the Pride which has one of them.

Loved the Pride and I was on her before all the dry dock add ons you are sooo lucky!

  9. No! :loudcry:They should have waited at least until after my cruise is done. We get on 6 days after you get off. I agree they should have waited until after dry dock for the Conquest since it does not have a Serenity area.

Left a message with my PVP doubt there's much he can say to me but I need to tell someone this was a bad decision with no serenity!

  10. Just read a post about the Aft adult pool on Conquest is going to be open to kids now. The only thing I didn't like about the Conquest was that it doesn't have a serenity deck, but at least they had that. Seems like they should have waited until after the upgrade to make that change ugh.

Yes they should have waited until dry dock/ serenity or at least til my cruise was done![emoji23][emoji30]

  11. I also teach to support my cruising habit, I'm on Valor in late June. Deeply saddened by the fact that the aft (formerly) adult only pool will now be used as a family pool. I don't stay in the pool all day by any means, but I do enjoy a leisurely swim away from the shouting/throwing/general boisterousness.

I love to sit on the side with my feet in the water. Still can do that but it's going to be noisier just like work.

  12. That information is outdated. The manager at the Eller Drive location was perplexed by the differences in rates and told me he will honor not only all Enterprises reservations, but reservations from ALL car rental companies, so jump on the shuttle and go to the Eller Drive location to pick up a car.

Got a phone number and name of someone I can talk to I just talked to 3 people and NONE had any answers for me[emoji30]?

  13. Has anyone used the free Alamo shuttle from FLL to Port Everglades during the last weeks? Used the shuttle last year with no problems, but now after online check in on my confirmationsheet I read: "Location does not offer pickup or return service to and from Port Everglade". Hope this is not true. My journey starts April 15th with Freedom of the seas.

I have an email that says they DO shuttle to the airport dated January 19th for my Upcoming cruise. I have a reservation for the airport that is much cheaper than the other location. I guess we will have to get a taxi if they don't shuttle[emoji849]

  14. You describe it, they will make it. In Grand Turk I had the Sandy Vag**** from Jack's Shack. Asked for it in the casino and they were like WHAT?? Told them what was in it and they made it. But they started calling it a Poosay (with a French accent). You want more Poosay sir? **snicker snicker snicker**

Love them at Jack's Shack have no idea what was in it. Sweet and gooood!

  15. The casino bar uses the same bar menu as other "regular" bars located inside the ship (the pool bars have a bit of a different menu as far as I remember).

Here's a link to the cruise critic copy of this menu.

    http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=813

As you can see, there are lots of choices.

Also - the servers in the casino will have a copy of the bar menu in their apron. Whenever I'm indecisive, I ask to see the menu refresh my memory on some options.

Personal favourites are the Hurricane Wave, white Russian, and the Tiramisu martini. My mother favours the Mocha chocolate getaway, Bahama Mama, and Pirate Punch.

If I'm into some more hard-core drinking - the Cruiser does the trick.

Oooh is a Pirate's Punch on the menu? If not what is in it?
