THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!   THANK YOU!

After 3 very frustrating days of talking with multiple "Cruise Vacation Planners", I decided to look on Cruise Critic to see if others were having this issue.

I found this thread and read Pink-belle's post,  following her steps, and making sure everything but my login and PW were new and met the criteria.  Bingo!   I was reunited with my PCL account.  Again, when creating the new account, the ONLY things I changed was the login name (prior it was my email) and password.   It was all there - my member # , Cruise history, Future Cruise Credits and onboard credits.

FYI, prior to this I was using my contact email for my login, but my PW met the criteria.

Again, Thank You.  Now, can someone help me remember the new info?🤣

Perhaps I spoke too soon.  Didn't work for husband's account.  Found out his contact email had been deleted in his original account.  This isn't the first time this has happened for him.  So now he has duplicate member numbers.  My PVP said Princess IT is well aware of the issue and working at resolving it.   Very disappointing their travel specials aren't.

I have empathy for those who are cruising shortly. Fortunately we have nothing on the books with Princess, so there's no urgency for us.   And, frustrating as it is, I'm filing this at the bottom of my First World Issues list.

Heads up, PCL headquarters, in Santa Clarita is installing a new phone system in a few days! 🤞

I am posting this, I am in the UK, but hope some still find it helpful.  My husband and I were able to logon to our accounts at the weekend, raised a query and had this reply.

“Thank you for your email to Princess Cruises Captain's Circle Please accept our apologies for the late reply to your email. We are currently experiencing a high volume of emails in our inbox and are replying in order of date received.

Unfortunately, the process in which guests need to follow in order to update their website login has been recently changed, to which I further apologise for the delays in responding to your query.

Due to GDPR reasons, we are unable to update a guests login details on their behalf. In order to update your login email, please visit the following link and 'register' as if you are setting up a new account. https://www.princess.com/my-princess/register/

Please ensure all of your details remain the same, apart from your email address and password. Providing that all of your other details match (including your address and date of birth), a duplicate account will not be generated & your login email address will automatically update.

In the event that a new account is created in error, please let us know by return of email and we will get the 2 accounts merged for you - keeping the one with your new login details.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance or if you have any further loyalty related queries that we may be able to assist with.”

Basically we needed to change our password to fit the new criteria, no issue with our accounts now.

    hope this helps

We are on the 1/19 cruise. If you make dinner reservations on the app prior to sailing are you given any kind of confirmation of the reservation when you board? Should you go to the dining room when you board to confirm?

Has anyone asked the ship (I know the ship won't answer but maybe someone would) why they are not making announcements about Covid infections - whether there are none or some?

    Thanks in advance.

I made dinner reservations from home weeks prior to our New Years Cruise on the Grand.  The reservation will show up in the medallion app once you are onboard AND on TV.

10 of us are also booked on the Rhine with Avalon in October. We're counting on NOTAMERMAID to provide good water levels and great weather!  (But seriously, a big thank you to Notamermaid for all your updates, been following you for over a year)

Also booked in October (13th) on the Avalon Visionary AND following Notamermaid's informative reports.

This will be our first river cruise!  A decade ago we spent 5 days in Boppard exploring the River area. Loved it!   Then in 2012 I spent few days with my sister in Beilstein watching the riverboats glide by.  I knew then I wanted to revisit the area with my husband, but this time on one of those boats.  Or are they ships?  I'm a novice at this.

Here's hoping the Rivers flow in our favor.

  5. We were on the Royal leaving port in FLL when the latest Disney ship was also leaving port at the same time - they followed us out. The two got into a theme song match when Royal would play the love boat theme and the Disney ship would play their theme song. It went on for several rounds and was really enjoyable. I think both captains were having fun entertaining the guests aboard.

That had to be a "blast". No pun intended! :D

  6. We were able to schedule 48 hours in CHP before our cruise in September. We arrive @ 1030 and will be staying at the Best Western Hotel City. After researching the City our plan is to purchase the Copenhagen Card at the airport, Metro into the hotel, check in and then hit the streets & canals.

With such a limited amount of time we've narrowed the site seeing list to the items below. Are we being overzealous with our time? Is it even realistic? Initially we were not going to purchase the Copenhagen Card, but after using the savings tool on the website, it is definitely worth the investment for 48 hours. Plus we like the idea of being able to hop on and off public transport without digging into our pockets.

During our first afternoon we want to take the canal tour, climb the Rundetaarn, peek inside the Glyptoteket. and end up at Tivoli for the evening. Day two plans are to climb the Vor Frelsers Kirkes Tarn, tour the Rosenborg Slot and Amalienborgmuseet and the National Museum. And somewhere in there we want to stroll Stroget pedestrian street. We don't have anything planned for the final morning before we head to the ship. We thought we would leave it open for anything we may not get to see. Then head back to the hotel, collect our luggage back at the hotel and head over to the Cruise Shuttle.

Your comments, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  7. … I can only hope all will find their Mediterranean inspiration to book on the Carnival Vista when she sails in those incredible waters and ports in 2016! …

Great review Captain Carnival, or should I say "ShotoJuku". We're headed up to Alaska next spring. Looking forward to it.

We did the "Legend" cruise with you in 2013. What great memories! Keep us posted on the Vista status. If she's sailing the Mediterranean, we'll be booking.

  8. We are booked into a vista suite (8273 Legend) for our upcoming cruise we are travelling with our 10 month old.

I am wondering if anyone knows where the crib would be set up?

We were in Vista Suite 7347, just below your suite. I would think the rooms are equally sized. If so, and depending on crib size, there's room enough for a crib in the corner of the bedroom. The chairs in the sitting room could also be moved. It would be a bit crowded, but workable. You're gonna love this suite.

Here are some pictures and a video of 7347. We were on the Legend for a 12-day Med cruise.

  9. We have this cabin booked for Panama Canal 4/16/2014. Looking forward to sitting on the "private" stern balcony and reading on sea days.

gblcl, We're in this room for the 4/1/2014 PC cruise. It's the closest room we could get to being aft, which we love. Looking forward to this cruise!

  10. Thanks everyone! I'm sort of sad to be finished with the review because it was fun for me to relive my the vacation as I wrote about it :) Not sure when I will get to cruise again, but hopefully some of us can cross paths again (or for the first time!)

Bravo!! Great review! I'm also sort of sad that you've finished the review. We did the same cruise on the Legend last May and I relived each port with you. Our cruise was crazy-busy and WONDERFUL! I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

How unfortunate that Carnival pulled out of the Mediterranean market. I felt it was a steal of a cruise! Hopefully they will return some day.

  11. We are sailing Pride Nov 3 and it will be our first aft balcony.

Question: Do you get more smell from the smoke stack? Seems the flow of air would wrap the fumes behind the ship.

We called Carnival Legend Vista Suite 7347 (corner aft) home for 12 nights in the Mediterranean. Never had an issue with smoke or smell.

  12. Thanx Brian for the very professional review. It brought back many memories of Venice for us. We stayed at the Olimpia as well.

We are heading out 1 Sept on the Legend and were wondering if you can confirm that the self-laundry rooms washers & dryers take the s&s cards instead of coins, or do they take both?

    Thanx in advance

    Scott

How come I don't see "Buy ShotoJuku a drink" on your S&S account?? LOL:D:rolleyes:

'Cause these two old codgers couldn't keep up with the two of you! You are power cruisers!! We're just novices! ;) After touring the ports we would fall in to bed. A round of drinks on use next time for sure!! :D:D I'd pack up and do it all again tomorrow, wouldn't you??

  13. Thanx Brian for the very professional review. It brought back many memories of Venice for us. We stayed at the Olimpia as well.

Scott, I did laundry (deck 6) on the Legend using my S&S card. It was $3 each for wash and dry.

  14. This is for the upcoming repostioning that although confirmed is not as of yet posted but shall be shortly; stay tuned!

I've been watching for Legend's repositioning cruise too. What fun would that be! Definitely let us know as soon as you see something posted.

Is the Legend scheduled for dry-dock in 2014 also? Prior to repositioning?

Still working at getting my pics posted from the May 4th Legend cruise. A family emergency slowed my editing down a bit. Will post the link on the May 4th roll call later. I also blogged while on the ship (one of the reasons I missed Stromboli). Whenever we travel, blogging is our means to communicate with family back home. This was a bit tricky while at sea. But I perfected the art of minimizing pictures for uploading, writing the blog off-line, and then copying and pasting everything into the blog page while I had an internet connection. I love going back and reading my blogs for the memories ... and recollection of things forgotten over time ... kinda like a diary.

  15. OK, here's just a couple more including something that buzzed the bell tower at incredible speed; I still have no idea what it was?

It's the reconnaissance drone from Dan Brown's "Inferno". JK!

But if you're a Dan Brown fan, this book is a fun read, especially after being in Florence and Venice recently. You'll identify with alot of the places he mentions.

  16. Great job on the review, really enjoing reading it! I'm sailing on Legend in a month. I'm wondering if you did the steakhouse? Trying to decide if it's worth the $. Also wondering how your sea days were.

Hubby & I also did this cruise and ate at the steakhouse the last night at sea. Wish we hadn't waited so long. It was delicious and definitely worth the $$.

PS - ShotoJuku, loving the review.
