Is Murano ever open for lunch? I'm on the March 6 PC cruise.
-
On the March 6th cruise westbound, love your review and pics. Look forward to hearing your son.
-
Great pics! We're doing the PC in March. Any not to miss menu items in the MDR?
-
Thanks Lois.

Do they offer a lunch or dinner option on Century for their FLL Panama Canal transit to LA?
-
I just kept sending my info. After 6 tries they took it.

Schedule was skewed a little due to Christmas and some locks were closed, but we left Paris early and did first day on next to last day. Nothing was missed. Many markets, some good and some not so good, with Paris markets were to be open until New Years. Special Christmas meal. I'll post later some menu items later. Weather has been 40-50s with some rain and wind. Christmas Eve we went to the 10:30 Mass at Notre Dame in Rouen. More later as we are heading to the airport, :(

We're on the Christmas cruise and having a blast. Weather much better today at Honfleur. Rainy Christmas Eve in Rouen. Normandy beaches tomorrow with temps in 40's and partly cloudy. Full review when we return.

While we've never had towel animals on an X cruise, our DD and friend had them every night in their room across the hall. Maybe they do it for the kids or special occasions.
-
Thanks for the comprehensive review. We're sailing in December on Spirit and are really looking forward to the trip. Do you have pics posted anywhere? TIA, Scott

We are taking our first RC this coming December on Viking, Paris/Rouen/Paris. After doing many weeks of research, Viking offered the itinerary we were looking for at a price that I was willing to pay. Our DD wanted to be in Pairs around Christmas and this is our graduation gift to her for getting a full scholarship for the past 3 years of college. We are allowing her to bring along her best friend also, so it is a win/win for all involved, :)
-
Rcaruso, we will be on Spirit this Christmas. Does Viking do anything special for Christmas Eve/day? Do you have any pics of your cruise posted anywhere? TIA, Scott

Welcome back, alas out AU Tigers are still in the doldrums, :(
Do you have any other pics of the ship? I know you said you are not a foodie, but did any meals stand out? Did you stop in Rouen? That is our Christmas Day stop on Spirit next year. TIA, Scott

It's the castle where DA is filmed.

AA changed my depature time, twice and made it too close for comfort for me to get to the ship, bottom line they charged me to change to an earlier flight because I had a no change ticket. I complained for several days and to several different people and finally got back a voucher for the difference but I felt that since it was them changing the time and not me that I should not have had to pay the difference. Bottom line is I have to travel with them again, but it is covered.

If you do have to make extras and put them in the oven be sure to not put them on a cookie sheet and do put them on the rack directly. The cooie sheet will also make them soggy. BTW, the cornstarch is a key ingredient.

SHIP: Celebrity Solstice
CABIN #: 9328
DECK (#): Panaroma (9)
CLASS: Inside 12
AREA: Inside room about 6 rooms down from mid elevator bank.
BED NEAR: Center with plenty of room on either side.
QUIET?: Very much so!
BALCONY VIEW: None
BALCONY SIZE: N/A
WIND A PROBLEM?: N/A
SOOT A PROBLEM?: N/A
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Large inside room with two chairs and not a couch. Wide "foyer" area and plenty of room, not claustrophic at all.

SHIP: Celebrity Solstice
CABIN #: 9296
DECK (#): Panaroma (9)
CLASS: CC
AREA: Angled Rear Hump just down from the elevators, starboard side.
BED NEAR: Balcony
QUIET?: Pretty much, with exception of a few door slams from time to time and one night we heard some of the late entertainment in the foyer area, but when we cut the TV off.
BALCONY VIEW: Wonderful - looking straight out and aft.
BALCONY SIZE: 2nd Largest of hump angle cabins. 2 chairs that recline with foot stools and a table. Asked for and got 2 extra chairs.
WIND A PROBLEM?: No
SOOT A PROBLEM?: No
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Loved the roomy bathroom and shower. Didn't care for the hard couch, loved the firm bed and having it close to the balcony. We felt there was plenty of storage space for a 7 day cruise and didn't even use all of the drawers and closet space. On the Eastern Caribbean cruises we noticed the port side had the best views when docking in the ports. Great location near the elevators and stairs. Just a few short floors, up or down, to pretty much everything but the casino and theater.
-
Thanks for the hard work that the two of you put into this! Much appreciated. Scott

Not sure what your sail date is but if you can get one of the hump cabins on the angle, not the face, you will have a larger balcony. Do a search for "bad aqua class" cabins and that might help. Also, there is a sticky about the Solstice cabins. Take a look and find those cabins in AQ.

juneday, check for the same cabin location on the opposite side of the ship to see if it is listed or cabins just above or just below yours. Our cabin was not listed at one time and, while the pics and info was not about our specific cabin, it was pretty much spot on with the same info.
-
Did you ever post any pics of Solstice 9209? Did you like the room? Was the balcony too windy and do we need to change to an aft facing cabin? Any other pluses or minuses? Thanks in advance.

I would like to add Happy Garden Restaurant for Dim Sum in Chinatown in Honolulu. We just ate there a couple of weeks ago on our Mercury cruise. Very good and only 2.00 per item. We had a feast for under 15.00 for two people. Hot tea was included. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and a line was out the door with many Chinese families. Since it was just the two of us we were moved to the head of the line.
Any vaccines required for Panama Canal
in Celebrity Cruises

Reading the cruise contract and it's clear as mud. Are any vaccines required for a PC transit for those in good health?
