  1. I just booked our family (10) on the Magic for January 2013! Gonna be such a long wait, but will be worth it. I didn't think prices were that bad. We got 4 cabins (1 balcony and 3 inside) for $7000. That's just $700 a person for a week! How can you ever beat that! Can't wait to see actual pictures and reviews from those you are on her right now!

I'm patiently waiting for the reviews & pictures too. :)

  2. Thanks all for the tips / advice / suggestions!

I booked this evening and we will be on the Panorama deck down a ways from the elevators / doors to the outside deck. When I mentioned 1066/1067 to our PVP, he recommended not staying there as it will be more noisy with people coming in from the Lido deck to the elevators, noise from the Lido deck and etc. He suggested further down the hall for a bit more quiet. I followed his advice.

We stayed on the Panorama deck on our first cruise back in 2003 on the Victory and loved it! I suspect this cruise will be no different. :)

    Sounds great!!! Enjoy!

  3. My wife and I are planning to take a cruise on the Conquest and I'm calling to book later today. Any recommendations on balcony rooms to go for vs avoid?

I've been reading all the threads here and basically heard a lot of conflicting reports (especially Aft rooms).

We do not like the idea of the aft rooms because of the lack of privacy and like the idea of being on the 'side' of the ship rather than the back. It sounds like the Spa deck rooms should be avoided due to no overhang and then I read here that the Deck 10 balconies are smaller than others?

Any tips / advice is greatly appreciated!

We loved our aft wrap on the Conquest 7445. We did get to see the cabin next to ours 7439 which is aft, a little different layout, no couch, but a bigger balcony than a regular balcony room. It was very nice too. Our thing was, we wanted something on Deck 7 so we had cabins above & below us.

  4. I'm thinking of doing a "Premium Vista Balcony" (wraparound) on the Carnival Conquest -- cabin 7440, 7445, 6452, or 6483 (back of ship). Has anyone been in any of these cabins? Is it worth the extra cost? Is there any bad vibration or noise on the Conquest in these back cabins?

I know there is a YouTube video of cabin 7445 from the Conquest that someone posted somewhere at one point, I haved watched it & it shows the room great. I think the other pics posted have been from ships from the same class. Let me see if I can find the links for you for the ones I have looked at. We are booked in an aft wrap for our cruise, but I have never been in one before so I'm no help on vibration, noise, etc. :)

    Found it: Enjoy!

  5. During the winter months when Galveston is using central standard time, the Conquest moves the clock ahead one hour on Monday night, then moves the clock back one hour on Thursday night after leaving Grand Cayman. After Galveston switches to daylight saving time next month the Conquest will cease making any time changes until the fall. The reason for this is as follows.

Jamaica is in the eastern time zone but does not observe daylight saving time.

Grand Cayman is in the eastern time zone but does not observe daylight saving time

Cozumel is in the central time zone but does observe daylight saving time, just not on the same dates as Galveston.

This means that once Cozumel makes the change in early April, all three ports as well as Galveston are using the same time. During March Cozumel will be one hour behind ship time on Conquest as well as one week in early November.

    Confused? :D

Okay, so for October 17th sailing, there would not be a change. Is that right? Thank-you.
