You'll love the Escape.
We were on it this past July and had a fun time.
I'd say the only downside is that the pool area is ridiculously small.
With that in mind, as long as you don't have to be right next to the pool, there are plenty of very nice areas to relax with amenities and you're still only a minute walk to the pool. Check out deck 19 right outside of Vibe. My favorite spot on sea days.
BTW another decent alternative for breakfast is O'Sheehans.
One morning I did breakfast at O'Sheehans and then did 2nd breakfast (Lol) with my wife, daughter and 2 nieces in the dining room. And this was all after my pre-breakfast at Margaritaville early in the morning. It is vacation and I did do 90 minutes in the gym every day.....
Have fun!
Thank you so much for taking the time to give some insight on your experience on the ESCAPE.
This will be our 10th cruise(Celebrity, Costa, RC) 4th on NCL (Breakaway x2, Spirit).
Cruising with DH, 18yo son and 16yo daughter. We are so looking forward to getting away from this seemingly never ending Winter here in the Northeast.
I enjoy the quiet tucked away outdoor space where I can read, think, and just enjoy the sounds of the sea.

Yep. I enjoyed it on the Escape too.
A minimal selection as was posted above but very nice.
I enjoyed the comfortable, outside setting with comfortable seating and no crowd.
A couple of days I stopped there on my way back from the gym at around 7:30am and had some coffee and relaxed before going back for a shower.
Will be on the Escape in 9 days. I will have to check this out.

My husband just spoke to a CS rep for NCL last night and was told he could apply the certificate even though both of our booked cruises are past final payment and would be refunded the difference. We are still skeptical.
Will follow up if we decide to try it.

If you bring wine on board and don't end up opening it, are you still charged?
-
I received a land based casino certificate for an OV for two. The cruise options we were given did not work for us so we opted to take a credit toward a cruise of our choice. We choose a 7 day on the NCL Escape to Bermuda in a Balcony. For this particular cruise when booking a Balcony you may choose all offers.
When I checked or email we were only given 3/4 free, WiFi and $50 Shore Excursion. I phoned CAS and was told that the original offer was for an OV and the OV's only get to choose 3 for this sailing. I said oh, okay thank you. When I told my husband he reminded me that we didn't book this cruise with the casino's original offer we took the credit, it should not matter.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Thank you in advance for your time.

You don't need to bring your own distilled water, Just call the access desk and they provide the water for you .

Thank you so much for your non snarky reply. It is most appreciated 🙂

My husband will be bringing his BiPap onboard. Can we bring the distilled water on board?

I'm on the February 2 Bliss sailing and so far I have only heard of one confirmed upgrade from an Oceanview to Balcony in my roll call.
Hi Jamie - I'm asking you this question because you seem to be very well informed about this process.
We have an inside cabin for 4 on the Escape 3/17/19. I booked it with the 3/4 "FREE option. I received a bid opportunity for an Outside and a Balcony, I bid minimum on both. For some reason I just had a thought, I see that for the Free at Sea the option for the 3/4 Free is not offered as an option for Outside and above on this sailing. Does this mean if I "win" either of my bids that I lose the 3/4 Free? If so that would NOT be good.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Ruben with thousand island dressing is what turned me off O'Sheehan's (I've always been served mustard)
I agree with graphicguy that the chef is probably at the bottom of the totem pole.
If we are looking for food outside of normal meal times, I will find something on the menu to "tide me over" but I wouldn't plan to eat a meal there
A "Ruben" is not a Ruben with mustard. That would be a corn beef sandwich with mustard 😉

Excellent Review!
So excited to be boarding in about 6 weeks!

Looks like a great time, so far.
We have booked the Cruise Package at the Hilton as well. What is your opinion of this experience?

Yes. What is your exact date? $115 plus tax sounds about right for just the room depending on your date. The cruise package with parking and port transportation ends up being about $280. I’d call the hotel directly to book.
Thank you.
Just booked our hotel for the 16th. Such a relief to be able to leave the car there for the week and catch a shuttle to/from the terminal. Feeling relief from that stress. Good reviews on TA.

The most popular cruise package is at the Hilton Gardens in Ridgefield Park. It runs about $280 for a room, parking and round trip port transportation. A second night would be about half that.
Folks also use the cruise package the Hampton Inn in Ridgefield Park.
Your $200 budget is too low to get everything you want and need.
Is this the one at 70 Challenger Rd Ridgefield Park , NJ? On my HH App I get a charge of $115.00 a night???

I felt the same way until I started cramming 4 people in one room, 2 (ok, 3) of whom were not so great at folding or organizing. Bringing extra items was the only way to keep 4 people's stuff accessible on one hanging bar and 3 shelves, and 2 drawers. Especially when it's a winter sailing and you have a mix of seasonal clothes, and prefer to dress for dinner.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I am bringing the fabric folding cubes, for the closet. I got them at the dollar store
This is a great idea! It will help keep our clothes separated. Everyone will have their own “cube”. Need that organization as we are 4 in a cabin.

Yep, if you bid $100 pp and win, you will pay $200, even if you have four people in your cabin (or if you only have one person, for that matter), since all upgrades are charged on double-occupancy.
I have two options the balcony and the OV can I bid on both?

Yes. It's highly unlikely bids have been processed already, so bidding should still be open. Bids usually aren't processed until, at minimum, one week prior to sailing and sometimes they actually cut the 48 hours out pretty close. My bid on my last cruise was processed about 50 hours prior to sailing?
Where would I find information on this "bid process"? I did receive an email but I'm really not understanding how it works.
We are booked in an inside currently 4 in the cabin. Our offers say Balcony from $50 pp Ocean View from $25 pp.
Offers are based on dbl occupancy and only 1st and 2nd passenger will be charged. So if I'm understanding correctly, if I bid $100 to upgrade and I won I would be charged $200???
Thank you for your time.

Used the card on Anthem last week. Great value, IMO of course ;)

Thank you for the feedback. We board tomorrow and are very excited!

I was reading on another site that the sofa sleeper can be set up as a "trundle" bed making it ideal for teens.
Anyone on these boards have experience with this set up? I have seen pictures set up as a full bed.
Thank you in advance for your feedback :)

Don't hold the elevator for someone that's not even out of the room yet!
To funny! We just can't make this stuff up.
