  1. Leaving in two weeks. Not happy with last minute reductions in the offer.

That's my biggest issue, is that they just implement these with no warning. They should allow the previous benefits on cruises that you already have booked.

  2. I spoke to someone at Blue Chip last week and he confirmed that none of the tier level benefits are changing. The only change was to the end of cruise incentive. As others have mentioned you no longer get anything from the hosts onboard you just call up Blue Chip after your cruise when you are interested in booking a new one and they will advise you of what discount they can offer you based on your play on the most recent cruise. So this is kind of going back to how they used to do it prior to the new tiered program launched last year. I have not booked anything yet under the new program to see how well it works.

Just received an email. As I expected they appear to be devaluing the benefits. Lowering the guaranteed free play for each tier level to a base plus a percentage of gambling. Also the free specialty restaurants are gone. Here is the new system:

  3. This is not a definitive answer but I did ask the landslide Blue Chip office about the rumored changes. I was told that the handing out of the “postcards” by the Casino Hosts on the next to the last day would be discontinued. These, as you probably know, designated a per day discount for a future cruise. IF this is true it is good news because when I received my last postcard I was still active in the casino. Apparently the additional play was not going to count. IF I remember correctly the evaluation of play will take place post cruise by the landslide office. Now I’m absolutely not certain we will experience any “ enhancements”. I have entered therapy as a result of being personally devalued from Sapphire to Amethyst. Oh the horror!:loudcry:

You know I really did gamble purposely more on my last cruise to make sure I got to Sapphire because the FAQ said it would last for 18 months. I have several cruises coming up in the period and I’m going to be very unhappy if the decrease the benefits like freeplay, free specialty dining, and access to Michaels club. I doubt anyone will care about my unhappiness, especially Celebrity, but I feel like promises where made in writing in their FAQ.

  4. Just had a conversation with someone at Blue Chip Club. They said there were changes coming soon (next month). Anyone know what they might be? I searched for a thread on this and didn't see it. It seems like these changes are never in favor of the customer.

  5. Had the exact same experience -- things are OK if you open a new incognito window though. They are obviously storing a cookie in the browser. To fix, got to clear those out but I hate to do that, kind of a pain for all other sites.

Update: cleared out cookies and tried signing in again...had to use email address rather than user name for sign in since I was forced to change passwords just before. So if your user name/password doesn't work, use email address/password.

Had to add in my upcoming cruises too! The most annoying thing and this has been since the last change is that I can no longer find the due date for the final payments. That is really annoying. Why are they sooooo bad at the website. They are such a well managed company. How can they be so bad at this.

  6. Disembarking Mariner this morning and she is off to Dry Dock, for approx 6 weeks I believe. Surprisingly did not encounter any work starting whilst we were sailing. Wonderful cruise, Dubai to Barcelona.

I see the list on the RCL website, I wonder if they are doing in maintenance of the rooms?

  7. Here's the first couple of paragraphs, press release is really long, don't want to tie up CCs space.

"The market continues to support our growth as our people keep focused on delivering our targets and goals. The strength of this market plus our new ships in 2018 (Symphony of the Seas, Azamara Pursuit, Mein Schiff 1 and Celebrity Edge),position us nicely for 2019 as well

The stock is getting beat up today. I can't figure out why. Seems like a good report?

  8. So just for fun I logged into the RCL site and was faced with the new login rollout. It's not the sexiest looking page in the world but it did work. I reset my login/password, entered some profile info (it auto-filled some which was good), was informed that I could use the login for RCL and X. I was then able to go to the homepage which looks different but is probably just a content change since I haven't been there for a while.

Then I went to the X site to test since my login IDs were different. Surprisingly, the RCL login worked on X and pulled up all my correct information.

I just tried and can't log in to RCCL with my current password - UGH!

and all of my past cruise information is gone! It is unbelievable that a Fortune 500 company could be this bad at websites.

  10. We will be cruising Celebrity for first time in January, we've been with Royal up until now. I had originally booked Aqua but the price on the Sky Suite guarantee dropped so much I couldn't pass on the upgrade. Only ended up being a $300 difference. Our last cruise on Royal was in a Grand Suite so we were a little spoiled with the extra room and the concierge lounge, so looking forward to experiencing Michael's Club.

We were loyal RCL cruisers, but one you there the suite life on Celebrity, it is hard to go back.

  11. Last April the Summit had an emergency dry dock to change a Pod. Only took about 3/4,days.

Like others have said other ships have Pod issues as well. 2 years ago the Freedom of the Seas limped around for months waiting for a Jan dry dock to replace it.

Interestingly enough we were on the Summit Cruise after the dry dock for the Pod issue and now are on the Infinity for the cruise (hopefully) before the dry dock for the pod problem. Maybe I need to quit scheduling M class cruises. But, we do love the ships.

  12. Glad your sailing is unaffected.

We've had two cruises cancelled on us due to the M-class pod problems. Once in 2003 (Infinity) with only 3 day's notice (!), and once on Millie (2013) with I believe 4-5 weeks notice.

That terrible. It makes you wonder if they won’t start phases some of the m-class ships out when more of the edges classes come along. It is really a shame. I love the layout of those ships.

  13. It is a pod problem but they are still able to do 18 knots. Yes they did cancel the April 2nd cruise. We are doing a b2b2b starting on Feb.18th and the first leg they cancelled one port and have changed some of the hours we will be in other

ports. So far no changes on the other 2 cruises.

    John

    Thanks John.

  14. I saw that they had canceled the April 2nd cruise. I’m on the cruise before that one. Does anyone know what the problem is? I assume it is a pod issue, but you know what they say about assuming.

I remember when summit had pod problems last year some folks on here where able to see the speed the ship was traveling. Anyone know how to do that? Apparently the pods are a real problem for this class so ship.

  15. You'll need to be logged on with your Crown and Anchor Society account to view it, but the MLife benefits chart is still there :) It's located in the Special Offers section, under MGM Partnership Benefits.

I'm actually travelling to Vegas in a few weeks time and just signed up for MLife. I honestly don't really gamble all that much, but joint program intrigued me!

These are the benefits at an MGM resort, where can I find the benefits of being Platinum while sailing? The old page on RCCL's website isn't working.

  16. We were also on the Oct. 22 cruise and flew out from San Juan Oct. 28. We had signed up and paid for the Celebrity transfer worried if there would be taxis at the pier. We received a credit on our stateroom account when they changed to free shuttles. The situation at the airport was horrible, as others stated the luggage was delivered in a truck separate from passengers. We waited 90 minutes for our luggage, it was mass chaos and no Celebrity staff there to assist. Several passengers actually organized and off loaded the luggage. Paid or free do not take the Celebrity transfer. I actually felt bad that we did not take a taxi as there were so many there waiting for our business, much better option all around to take a taxi.

Was Captain Kate the captain on this cruise? Trying to figure out if she will be there on our November 18th cruise on the summit.
