We live in Spain and I based my estimate on what we would pay here for a similar distance.l  Ho wever I have just found this quote site that gives a similar price https://www.worldtaximeter.com/barcelona/Barcelona+cruise+port/la+sagrada+familia

Thanks! Is there anything Im not thinking of that you might know about any other issues I might find using the taxis to go to the two places? I have a translator on my phone, and a GPS in case he starts to take a really different more costly route. (I heard they do that in Lisbon)

3 taxis - one from the ship to the Sagrada Familia, one from the SF to the Nou Camp and one back to the ship - should cost no more than 45 Euros (around 15 Euros per trip); plenty of taxis available at the port and close to SF and NC.  Alternatively the HOHO bus will take you to both the Sagrada Familia and Nou Camp.

I read  that they also include time stuck in traffic, not just the kilometers, and on a site it said 24.00 euros from port to the sagrada. Do you have a website link I can look at the has those prices?

  3. ONe of our best cruises !!IF you want quiet you go to different areas.I like a party atmosphere, and I am I my 60's. THe energy that this staff has it amazing!!!! THe trivia was in the Seaside lounge and was in English. EAch bar had their own atmosphere. BEst Martinis are in the Seaside lounge which across from the Sport Bar

Were you sailing in the med? we are going out of rome

  4. Please don't do this. Coral reefs are very fragile environments & you may attract more than you bargain for like 'cudas & sharks. There have been recent studies that show an ingredient in some sunscreens can cause damage. If you want to see fish being fed, go next door to Coral World

I beg to differ as the tourists feeding the tiny fish the dog biscuits have been doing it there for years with never a word about sharks or barracudas. They sell them in the little shops on the beach specifically for this purpose. But you should always be aware when snorkling and scuba diving of all marine life. Worse I have seen personally in the area are the sea urchins.

  5. I felt awkward when I went to that beach. I felt like I was invading the hotel's people's beach. It was dead quiet, and not many people were there. Megans bay and coki beach I found to be much better/livelier . The taxi driver upped his cost on the return as well. It is right beside the airport and you can watch the planes come in. Maybe go to trip advisor and look up best western hotel for more details about the place. I got extremely ill after eating their chicken sandwich and lost three days of my cruise due to that. When I contacted them about it, instead of simply saying sorry, they argued I cant prove it was them.

  6. We have been to the boatyard twice now and loved it both times. Once with teens and once on our own. Can anyone suggest a different beach that would have a similar set up? Something with bathroom facilities, somewhere to eat and loungers with umbrellas?

Someone asked can you walk to it. The answer is no. One year though we walked from where they dropped us off in town. If asking for directions, some people called it Browns beach.

  7. Maybe you could email them and ask. It is a restaurant and they seem to make their money with that and their loungers. You might look out of place if you set up shop in front of someone who has paid to have the beach view from their lounger (they are all in a long row).Maybe just rent one lounger and put the kids in front of your space.

  8. I second that opinion with Carambola. We loved it and there is a great spot on the way to take a pic. It is a great beach with clean facilities, modern m and has wifi. Google the different beaches showing images.

  9. It is really hilly and with winding tight winding, did I mention winding roads. We drove by a few bus's with people being car sick at the side. So, take a gravol for those that might have this as an issue. We can recommend Ian . He was really nice and his van was good. 758 715 4881 His email is :iantaxiservice@hotmailcom

  10. If you are referring to my report, I felt they we reported about the same, some good, some not so good, not all in Spencer's control. However, I feel like you should acknowledge these reports have been coming back very mixed for a significant period of time, not just the 1 day we were there. As I said, I want Spencer to find away to get his bookings managed better, because I think it is paramount to his continued success. I do not want to seem him fail.

Lastly, we waited just outside the port area (well after the meeting time by at least 30 minutes) for your party to arrive, so you should give him extra kudos for accommodating you. I am certain that's why we were rushed through our stops since we waited for you for so long. No offense intended, it's just that it caused us to have a rushed experience that could have been avoided. That was part of my disappointment, as I am an avid photographer and took over 600 pictures that day. If I could have shot from outside the van at some of the stops, it would have made for a few better pics. I do cut him slack for waiting for you, but it did impact 14 other peoples day.

Happy and safe travels Carol! :)

I was told the bus only waited 10 minutes for us and then left the port and we caught up with them at the volcano and then climbed on with the others, we didn't stop at any of the stops to catch up with the tour. Are you the same people? we apologized so many times, maybe there was another 4 people also? And I agree with you about spencer, if this is an ongoing issue of over loading then he does need to look into it

  11. We did the land and sea tour with spencer's tours, and it really is a beautiful destination. When we arrived at the beach between the Pitons, the lounge chairs were already full. It was strange , but all the tour people were literally condensed on one part of the beach. Though we could roam across the entire beach area and swim where ever we wanted, everyone chose to hunt out the shade. Due to everyone needing shade from the umbrellas, we could see the people doing what the walrus's do; there is a sweet spot and everyone wanted to be in it.We were literally on top of each other ,all wanting to stay in one compacted spot. We invaded a family with lounge chairs that were underneath the shaded area, and I was ready for a fight if they asked us to get out of their space,as I wasn't about to stand in the sun any longer.(luckily I think they could see our dilemma).

When it was time to leave at the 2:00 time slot,we stood out on the dock in the hot sun till about 2:45. Everyone was panicking that they were going to have to wait for a later boat to take us back to the ship. Everyone appeared as fed up as we were and some people were shoving elbows into others and being hostile about getting on the boat. When the second boat pulled up, I could see we were all going to make it on the 2:30 departure, but not everyone saw it and they were yelling at others that they weren't on their original boat and were outwardly hostile to some. It wasn't very organized. Part of the problem was people did not approach spencer with their payments on the beach , and so he wouldn't let them back on the boat till they paid. It was so annoying ,it appeared some were hoping not to pay,as he repetitively was shouting the names, and some were actually standing in the group of us. He had a list of our names though, and if you didn't have a check beside your name showing you had paid weren't getting on. To top it off one of his boats broke down enroute back to the ship. Going there and back was informative and interesting. We were just thankful it wasn't our boat that broke down as we already felt we were cutting this way too close on time.

If all the bad press about him is coming from this one day,March 14 then I would give him some slack. Cause most of his tour I felt was fine. We were the "four people" that didn't show, though we actually did, we were just super late, and got another driver named Ian help us join up to the main group.
